My son has a Miniature Schnauzer, who needs periodic grooming. We have used Petco several times, at two different locations. At the last visit, we were told that the hairs in the dog's ears must be plucked, and to do so, the dog had to be muzzled. We were a bit surprised by this, as the dog had never shown any aggressive behavior during any grooming visit before. We scheduled another grooming appointment, arrived early and purchased a muzzle for the groomer to use. During check-in, the groomer told us that they did not muzzle dogs, so he didn't need the just-purchased item. My son took the muzzle back to the same register (with the same employee) where he had purchased it less than 5 minutes before and was told that he could not return the item without a receipt. There is a great deal of misinformation at this location. First, don't tell us you need us to provide a muzzle for a particular procedure, then later tell us that you don't muzzle animals. Second, don't sell us an item, without providing a receipt, then 5 minutes later, refuse to accept the return of the item without a receipt. Because of this event, we are actively searching for another groomer for our dog, with hopes of never having to return to Petco again!

I bought a beta that died a few days later. I called the number for customer service as stated on their site and was told that I just needed to bring a water sample and my receipt to the store for a refund or exchange. I asked if they needed the fish and he said no just the water sample. So we did just that the next day and were denied any exchange or refund. I called customer service back and of course they denied that I was told that am now out $22 for a beta. Customer service is junk. I won't be back.

I am leaving this review for the dog trainer Michelle, she is absolutely phenomenal!! She worked with me and my sweet girl Ember through the adult behavior class and now through the AKC class. She has the best attitude and always is so excited to us and the progress ember makes. She handles every situation to perfect even when there are unruly dogs in the store. I cannot speak more highly of her she deserves so much credit and praise. I encourage everyone to go through classes with their pups here.

Staff is amazing and helpful. The fish department is amazing!!!! Pet adoptions (mainly dogs) are on Saturday from 11 to 2 normally from KC pet projects and other shelters. No cats here!!!You can't hold the Guinea pigs, hamsters and rats unless you're interested in perching them. Understandable because it's not a petting zoo and the staff is too busy, helping customers, and stocking to watch you hold animals. Plus, there's a lot of liability on their end I bet. I ended up getting a couple beautiful, female Betta fish for my sorority and a ton of stuff for my tank. Super happy with my experience.

The atmosphere is wonderful. They have a small bar area where you can wait and have a drink which is nice. The salsa is phenomenal and while the plates are small, they are very very good and tasty. The beer is cold and the drinks are good. The only negative thing which I don't think it's a big deal, is While the selection choices were limited, they were very good. I would definitely recommend this place if you like Mexican food oh and the guacamole is good too!!

If I could give this place a negative stars I would. Don't bring your dog here to get them groomed. Wouldn't even take my dog because she was nervous and had her tail between her legs and wouldn't let the girl see under her tail. Absolutely ridiculous, will no longer be getting my business whatsoever!

I went in to buy a couple of mice or hamsters for my son along with another couple hundred bucks in purchases minimum. I waited 30 minutes while employees just looked at me and avoided customers like the plague. Doesn't help out the customers that the employee uniforms are a T-shirt and jeans that don't prominently display their logo either. It's like they hide from you in there and try to make you think they're not employees so they're not bothered with. Finally, I convinced my sons father that he'd have to go to the front to have someone paged if we wanted help. Which I totally understood and was fine with. The issue is that after being paged to help us, we watched three employees make eye contact and keep walking. Not helping anyone else or doing something that would have prevented them from having SOME sort of contact with us. So finally after someone was paged to the front to help with checking out, we decided to leave since it was obvious that no one worked there that wanted to sell anything to us. I took pictures of the things I plan on getting and I'll just have to find them elsewhere.

Very disappointed with Petco for not standing behind their product for more than 30 days. I purchased on Jan 18th and it broke March 7th. I took it into the store and was rudely told I would have to call customer service where I was offered only a partial refund. Due to their "strict policy" they wouldn't even replace the product. It was buckled on my dog when the clasp just broke off while still clipped in the other side. I would recommend the crash tested Kurgo harness it's is much easier to use and they stand behind their products for life against defects.

Please change the hours of operation on your website, Petco Lee's Summit. As I write this review, this website says "Open Now" - after being turned away 20 minutes ago at 7:30. "You might want to change your website." "Oh that's Corporate." Well, Petco, this local potential customer is going somewhere else from now on - tell that to Corporate.

I really like this store compared to some of the others. They always seem to have a good variety of colors and sizes for clothes and toys. My English bully and boston love the treat bar

Watch out for the groomers adding additional services to your bill. They will add a few bucks and hold your dogs till you pay. Not good customer service in my opinion. Management doesn't care.
