Went into McCarthy Chevrolet Lee's Summit on 12.30.23 I was going to purchase my 1st *brand new* Chevy! If you know me you know I am and have always been a Chevy girl. I had been shopping around since October, I had been treated so poorly at the different dealerships I had been to and therefore had not made a purchase. Now I realize that it is *NORMAL* for a woman car shopping alone to endure double talk, misinformation, etc, and this is unfortunate, unfair and tiring. I spoke with a Lady over the phone at McCarthy Chevrolet Lee's Summit named Janise who told me to come on in she was kind. I came in worked with Tj Clark. Everything seemed to be ok until time to sign paperwork he informed me that I needed to hurry up as the other employees were waiting on me to be able to go home, he stated that he would explain the documents & I would sign them. When I did not comply with his request (I read before I sign) he continued to make comments about me needing to hurry. On Monday 01.02.24, I was to deliver my trade in I had explained to Tj from the start that my car was having some issues, I wasn't sure what the issue was nor was I sure I could drive it in. I stopped in on Mon. told him I wasn't sure if my car would make it to the dealership asked if it was possible for them to come p/u he firmly stated that this was my responsiblity & that my deal was contiginent on me driving my car in. I reminded him that I had made no secret of my cars condition. I went home and attempted to bring the car init did not seem as though it would make it and as a single woman I was not going to be stranded. I went back informed Tj of the situation. This is when he began to get angry and aggressive with me, he kept telling me that it is MY responsibility to get the car to them. He told me that they would probably cancel the deal and take the new car that I had already purchased back from me. At some point he was raising his voice at me, he verbally attacked me because of my religion and told me that I had no integrity, he even stood over me in an intimidating stance while arguing with me in a raised voice. At this point I was very intimidated I called a family friend who is also a KC Policeman I had him on speaker phone so he could hear how I was being spoken to, during this time TJ told me that a tow truck was on its way to my address & that I needed to get over there with the car keys, I informed him that I was not going to do this that the tow truck driver would be able to get the car without the keys,Tj told me this was not possible. My family friend then spoke up and informed Tj that this was unfair treatment and that he was trying to railroad me, that as a cop he knew that Tj was was being untruthful about the tow. Tj informed him that he didnt care who he was I needed to take the keys over. I was very nervous and uncomfortable at this point I asked him to have the GM come over and speak with me he ignored my request, Instead Tj told me to get away from his desk and go sit over there at a table by the window as he was no longer willing to work with me. While standing there I thought I was waiting for the GM to come over as I had asked another employee to have him come speak to me While standing there thinkg I was waiting for the GM to come over as I had asked another employee to have him come speak to me. At some point a gentleman whom I beleive was a sales manager (Josh) came over and told me that they would tow the car and get the new car detailed so that I could go ahead about me day. I had been there for about 2hrs. I waited to post this to give the General Manager time to contact me as i had been informed that he would be informed of the situation. It has been 15 days since this situation occured which I think is a reasonable amount of time for there to have been some sort of communication. This situation was embarrasing, intimidating & unneccesary, there is never a reason for a grown man in a professional position to behave the way this man behaved with me. How come the General Manager Mr. Brian Knigh

I bought a used vehicle from McCarthy Lee's Summit. The whole sales process made me uncomfortable. They were pushy, high-pressure, and rude. Chris in finance and Brandon (I think) were dismissive, arrogant, and unaccommodating. To make matters worse, within 48 hours of taking the vehicle home the check engine light came on. I took it back to the dealer the following morning and it was quite clear that they just cleared the code and sent me on my way. I scheduled an appointment for the following Monday (when their 'non-GM; tech was available). Between my first trip to the dealership and my appointment on Monday, the check engine light came back on. Monday appointment comes, same story. Cleared the code and sent me on my way. However, this time, indicated that the Used Car Sales Manager would give me a call to discuss. He called, gave the run around, and said the GM would be calling. Never heard back from them, left several messages with the Used Car sales manager and GM. Now, I have a week-old used car with a check engine light on and no resolution from this shady group.

I bought a 2023 Silverado High country from this dealership. They threw in a sunroof to make the sell. I never expected a new car dealer to install a cheap aftermarket sunroof that leaks when at the car wash. Now I can't seem to get them to make this right. So much for service after the sell.

My buying experience was great Charles Trumps was great he is a fantastic salesman. Seven Months later I traded in my truck and wanted to get a refund on the balance of my extended warranty and that is where the wheels cam off. Let me start with saying I live about 1.5 hours from the dealership I called and left 4-5 messages for Ryan Viscomi the finance manager to call me back. After I didn't get any calls back I decided to drive to the dealership to get it done When I arrived at the dealership I spoke with Charles and he told me that Ryan was on a call and it shouldn't be more than 10 minutes. After waiting more than 20 minutes he walked out of his office past me and went out to the parking lot and traded vehicles with what I can only assume was his wife based on the interaction. Once I finally had a chance to speak with him I mentioned the phone calls all I got was we prefer to handle these in person. When I was told by Charles and the operator it could have been handled over the phone. No sorries just down to the point I handed him my paperwork and signed one piece of paper and I was gone this all could have been handled via the internet with a scanner. I have purchased over 30 vehicles for my family over the last 10 years. This will be my last with McCarthy if he is still employed.

I had the worst experience at this dealership! The salesman was pushy, condescending and didn't listen to anything I said! I left feeling so upset I didn't want to shop anymore. Everything he said was rude. There's no way I would've done business after being treated that way! The next day, I get a message asking about my appointment, when I responded how poorly it went, I got zero response. Not sure how a business like this survives. Worst customer service.

If you take your car here for service you're a mark. Wasn't much better before it got sold to the McCarthy auto empire. There's enough idiots giving these people money you don't need to be another one. Steer clear. If I could give zero stars I would. Those easily susceptible to 2000s era sales tactics are welcome. What a joke.

Service is fine but now I get emails and texts nonstop to complete satisfaction surveys, even though I submitted one that day.

Brand new 2023 car. They promised the world but took advantage of a senior citizen by rushing through the financial portion that ended up with terms and financing considerably more than what I agreed to on the original offer. The car was not detailed, or washed, and had trash in it. Two days after I picked up the car, it had a flat. The manager told me he would not even patch the tire. The salesman and the manager did not bother to check my file to see what coverage I had just told me no. It was a very stressful time for me with no empathy on their part.

I will never do business with them again, and I suggest you do not either. I bought a truck from them around Christmas time during the coldest weeks we had. Now that the temperature is higher, I tied the A/C for the first time and it did not work. I took the truck to them, but I have passed my three month mark. I have a company car so do not drive it much. I have put 2k miles on it in 4 months. They offered no solution, did not stand behind their product and wanted to charge me a couple grand to fix. This was my first vehicle purchase since 2009. What a let down. Do not recommend.

These purple aren't great with the updating, they never call you back, and are very quick to blame other departments, rather than take responsibility. NEVER AGAIN.

Lied and told us they were working on the truck when they weren't. Truck came back with oil stains all over the ceiling. Charged for labor when they weren't working on the car. When we brought the truck back to clean the stains they only got half of them out. The truck now needs a new headliner if it were to keep its value. Overall- bad experience

Worst car dealership!! I will be sure to tell everyone to NOT go here! After I had experienced my engine blowing up in my previous car, I was looking for a used car. This is my first time buying a car. Car salesman talked me into buying a new car. There were many lies in that transaction. I was quoted a price and told them I wanted that price. They ended up raising the price on the paperwork, when I asked about it they said it was the taxes. That was a lie, the taxes were elsewhere. IT TOOK ME COMING UP TO THE DEALERSHIP THREE TIMES TO FINALLY GET A STRAIGHT ANSWER AND the answer was that SINCE I didn't bring my totaled car up there for a trade in then I got a higher price. They told me it says that on the website. (I didn't look at the stupid website that's why I came in to the store) the price that I was told was $24,995 and they got away with charging me $28,049. They also put an extended warranty and a wheel warranty on there WITHOUT my permission. Which upped the total price of my car to $31,998!!! And when I asked about it they said it was TAXES! (Brian the financial manager said that and was also the one to hurry me through the paperwork without explaining a thing) I was able to get it off after noticing what they had done thankfully but again, this whole process took me coming up to the store 3 times after my initial first time. Now skip ahead to my car having 5,000 miles on it and I'm experiencing a ESC light coming on. When I spoke to the service department, they could not clarify whether or not my car was okay to drive over the weekend or if it was something that needed to be seen immediately. (ALSO, GM decided to DROP loaner cars even though I was told I had this when signing) I am also told that even if I bring my car in on Monday there is no guarantee that I will get it back on Monday. I called a different Chevy dealership and they were able to answer my questions. (I will recommend them, since they are not McCarthy )
