Our rental was for 10 days. The car needs new windshield wipers; if I had gone through rain I would have had to pull over and wait for the rain to pass. The windshield wipers are a necessary aspect of safe driving. I REALLY shouldn't have to explain this to a business that rents vehicles. The front tires need replaced and would have been terrible for anything other than sunny weather. Again, another aspect of safe driving. The car was mostly clean, it's what I'd expect from my 8 and 10 year old-as in, limited attention to detail. An oil change is needed as well, specifically 5 days into my 10 day rental period. It's clear maintenance doesn't regularly occur on this vehicle. Poor customer service overall- between 2 other customers and me at check in. DO BETTER.

I used the car for uber. When I got the car it smelled like smoke and was very dirty and missing a hubcap.I called every week for a month straight trying to either get another car or get the hubcap and the car detailed properly to get the smoke smell out.The manager didn't like that I kept complaining so they didn't renew my contract.They sent a repo company to my house and took the car after I paid for the car for another week!! The repo companydamaged my gate and fence. Now I am on the Do Not Rent list and they refuse to give me my belongings backThey stole a tablet a wallet with $300 and my ID and other personal belongings stay far away from this place they are horrible at doing their job. I am probably going to take them to court for damages

I’m not going to say I won’t rent from Hertz again but my first experience was HORRIBLE! When I arrived to pick up my rental December 27th the employee didn’t acknowledge that I was there. She waited a few minutes and when she did finally speak all she said was do you have a reservation. No, hello, good morning, how are you or anything. Then she proceeds to tell me that the mini van I reserved is not available. I was offered a Grand Wagoneer which is not similar to a minivan. The only similarity is the amount of seats. But I had no choice but to accept the rental because my kids and I were leaving for Florida that morning. The SUV itself was nice (I love Jeeps) but when I went to fill the tank the label stated to fill with premium gas which was upsetting because my plan was to pay for regular gas. I had filled the tank with premium gas 3 times and decided to call the store and request the difference between regular and premium gas because I shouldn’t have to pay for something when it’s not the car I wanted. I was informed that I could’ve put regular gas in the tank because all of the cars at hertz take regular gas. But who’s to know that when that’s not what the label states. Manager Taylor that I was speaking with was EXTREMELY rude and acted as though she didn’t want to help me in any way. So I requested to speak with her manager (the gm). She refused to give me his contact information, acted as though she didn’t know when he would be in and that she had no way of getting in contact with him. And argued with me about how the gm wouldn’t give me a refund. I decided to call the independence store because I figured the stores would have the same general manager and the employee provided the gm’s email with no argument which is what manager Taylor could’ve did. I emailed the gm and he agreed to refund the difference of the 3 transactions which I only received two because I didn’t have the receipt for the first transaction but I had the amount. I am still upset about the cost of the regular gas to fill up the tank because of how much bigger the tank was than a minivan. Hopefully if I decide to rent through hertz again my experience will be a lot better and Taylor will learn better customer service skills.

They failed to renew the contract so the car got repod and I am on the Do nit rent list. The employees at this location are brain dead and worthless.An employee claiming to be a manager named Lincoln. She is one of the worst employees I have ever dealt with. Hertz is a scam. Now I have missing items and my rental account is messed up and they refuse to fix it

This place is a nightmare! I was rented a car that was filthy - inside windows so dirty that visibility was effected, tires were bald and after a couple days, the battery needed to be replaced. After roadside assistance jumped started it, the guy told me not to turn it off because it would need to be jumped again. When I took the car back to switch it out, the agent told me I either had to fill it with gas with the engine running or call roadside assistance again to jump it if I chose to turn it off, and they wouldn’t have another car for me for 4 hours. No one could deliver the car to me or take me home, and even though my insurance had authorized 4 more days on a rental, I had to call them again for another authorization. I have never encountered such poor, inattentive, rude and apathetic service as the woman who was in charge the day I returned that broken down car.I did call my insurance and asked them to switch my reservation to Enterprise. I was in a rental that was spotless and in excellent condition with Enterprise within the hour.

I called and spoke with a store representative named Megan. Megan was extremely rude and not helpful. She refused to listen long enough to hear my question, and ended up answering things I didn’t ask… then rushed me off the phone. I was very disappointed with the customer service, but I assume 2.?rating reflects their awareness of their deficiencies. This interaction pushed me to download Turo, had a fantastic experience with great options and felt like a valued customer with flexible pickup and drop off times.

Super nice people here. Great people! They even got me a Corolla-the car I was having repaired to make the transition easier. The only thing is that I wish Hertz as a company--having nothing to do with the staff there--would buy hybrid cars: only a few hundred dollars more at least the Toyota ones are only a few hundred dollars more than their gas-guzzling counterparts. Also, I hope that Hertz gets the staff's computers updated really soon as they, I understand, had promised the staff! Anyhow very good experience.

We rented a Nissan Rogue or similar. we got there and they offered us a Hyundai and it had very little trunk space and looked smaller than the nissan Rogue. They offered me an Armada for 40 more a day. We declined but went back for the Armada and then they told me they are delivering it to the airport to sell. Poor customer service!

I made reservation only to show up and they have no car. However, this is not the issue. I understand car rental agencies are having issues lately. I came twice that day just to be sure they could not get me in a car. Then I was charged a no show fee! That takes some guts to talk to me twice and then enter a no show in the system. I confirmed with the national customer service that this is entered at the local office. But it gets worse, the charge came more than 10 days later - seems like they were hoping I wouldn't notice.Slimy way to do business!

They will let you specifically book a Tesla electric car and even advertise it to you.Then the day of pick up they will tell you that they do not have any and they do not have any in the Kansas City area at all. If you have even reasonable expectations use anybody but hertz. The classic case of bait and switch advertising to gain customers. Do better.In short, if you want a dumpster fire or an experience, they’ve got you covered!

Would not even give them one star. This place is awful. Charged my card for the rental instead of the dealership that set the rental up. Then get told by the manager it was his fault and could take 14 business days to be credited back to my account!!! Would not recommend handing them a card for their $50.00 deposite.
