Anyone who is planning on using this pharmacy I would advise you to proceed with great caution. This pharmacist is not taking the doctor orders as the doctor writes them. If THEY think the order is questionable to them they will continually call the doctor and if you have two scripts for the same thing they need to just fill them as the doctor says they should do. In other words they question the script the doctors write. They are trying to be God, judge and jury. My doctors who are located up toward St Lukes hospital and KU University was furious when they dared to question the doctors written script. Both or all three of my doctors were furious that any pharmacist would question their orders as that is not the pharmacist job to do. Unless the error is a blatant, old, used to fill as they said I was taking the same thing in a different form. My doctors say they know this and the pharmacist job is to fill the medication and stop trying to be the doctor and not continually question what their scripts say. There should never be any pharmacist who dares to question any doctors scripts. I had to go to the emergency room recently and after leaving the Emergency Room Wal Mart pharmacy refused to fill the short term pain medication from the Emergency Room doctor when I got out of the emergency room. I was unprepared to fight them on that script because I way too sick to try. They told the emergency room doctor that I was already on pain meds and I did not need the script the ER doctor wrote me. Now the pain medication I already had was for a completely different medical problem. The hospital doctor gave me a script for short term pain meds for the problem I had to go to the ER to be treated.. I would advise anyone who takes a script to this Wal Mart pharmacy know what that script is and force Wal Mart to fill it as the doctor writes it and no do do their own interperation of your health and prescription. The lead pharmacist here should not be a pharmacist anywhere. Anyone who questions and decides to do their own interpretation of what the doctor wrote should not be in the business of filling meds or anyone. I am prepared to write what they did to me to the state and the pray this pharmacy have their books looked at and reprimanded as violation of the state law under the Missouri Board of Pharmacies. I come from and worked in health care for many years. I also worked in a pharmacy for 6 years filling scripts. I worked for an oncologist for 10 years. I well know how to read scripts and fill scripts and know when to question and when not to question. My doctor ordered me pain medication and Wal Mart waited for over one week before they filled my medication. During that time I was in complete agony and my pain was off the charts all because Wal Mart was so ignorant they seemed to think you can use what you currently have for a completely different issue. They called the ER room and told the ER doctor they were removing his pain medication given due to my to me in the ER already having my ongoing pain which cannot be fixed due to my having an autoimmune disease. This pharmacist has no business refusing my mediation no altering it in any way. I would advice anyone who fills any medication at this Wal Mart pharmacy in Lamar, MO not get that particular medication filled here. All the pharmacy personal are incompetent in filling medications. If this pharmacy decides to alter, change or deny a fill on a particular medicine on a timely basis go straight to another pharmacy and stay away from Wal Mart. Stay with the other pharmacy and away from Wal Mart pharmacy. Just go to another pharmacy. This is without a doubt the worst pharmacy (if this is who you wish to call them) that I have ever gone to in my lifetime. The change your scripts to meet their satisfaction and to heck with what the doctor wrote. This makes things ery bad for those of us who hae any autoimmune disease and need certain meds filled timely. They totally refused to fill my script for a Epipen without a request in writing from my doctor. I am anaphylactic so that Epipen w

My husband sat at the pharmacy for over an hour. He went into to fill a script with a RX directly from the doctors office, he was told they still needed to verify it with the doctors office and they had placed a call to the doctor. Again he sat there for an hour, they told him the doctors office never called. I called my doctors office they never received a phone call from the pharmacy. It took me 2 minutes to call the doctors office and ask them to call the pharmacy. First there should have been no reason to need verification from the doctors office and second if calls were made they should have been followed up on. A caregiver should not have to wait over an hour for a RX.

Love they are open 7 days a week. Hate the fact even for the smallest medication they take 20-30 minutes to fill it.

Very trucker friendly. Designated parking for 14 trucks on the north end of the store. The north entrance is the marketplace entrance, open 24/7.
