I took my car to be looked at Dunc's auto yesterday and they told me they could get me in at 8 am this morning.. I was there today by 8:10 and left my car thinking it was going to be fixed. By 12:30 I hadn't heard anything so my grandma and i went down to ask them what was going on with my car. They said they weren't be able to get in get to it and they're backed up and I could come down Friday but they couldn't do anything for me today. They were very mean to my grandmother and unsympathetic and just plain out rude. I hate being lied to once they reliazed they couldn't get to my car they shouldve called and told me! 1) if they reliazed they can't get to it then they should call and let the person know. 2) Dont lie 3) Be kind to the customers- not rude. 4) Honor what they say they will do!

Bought a boat motor from them off Facebook Marketplace that he even sent me videos of a good compression test, but when I got it mounted and tried to run it, it wouldn’t idle. Ended up needing a total rebuild at the tune of $1500. He told me they changed it out on his brother’s boat “for a bigger motor”, but his brother told me when he got there with the title that he “put the same sized one on”. I had already given him the cash and they had it loaded or I would have walked away from the deal. I should have probly demanded my money back right then, but hindsight is 20/20. Seemed like honest guys but ended up being crooks. I wouldn’t buy another thing from them or have them work on my vehicle because they literally patched the motor up enough to get a video of good compression and “didn’t have the controls there for it” to start it and let me see it run. Shameful and dishonest.

Again repair cost is a bit on the high side and wait times for repairs can be long. They do good work though.

I went in early morning to get an appointment to fix a door panel that would come loose and hang up the door opening, but was asked to leave the car. Car was not even looked at until after 2pm. At 3pm I called to say I had an URGENT need of my car and would need to pick it up.I was told the door panel was being done at that very moment, So I said finish that but skip the other things I mentioned that was just control panel lights and I would be in to WAIT for the car to be finished. A half hour later I arrived to wait for the car and when I walked in the gal said "what are you doing here, the car is not finished' I said I was just there to wait for it to be finished. The mechanic came in and said the fix would not last more than a week because I caused him to not let the epoxy dry long enough. I did wait 3 days after that before using the door to let it dry but still just as he said it didn't last more than 3 days despite letting it dry 3 days first The very bad part is when I left the shop my car died twice in 4 blocks home and acted like it had something put in the gas tank. A week later the car is still dying constantly. It was running great when I took it in. the problem with the dying was immediately after leaving their auto shop. It has never died before and ran great. I had an urgent reason for needing my car after it being in the shop 5 hours. I still don't understand their hostility to me nor why the fix didn't work nor why my car now dies constantly. never had such a horrible experience in any other auto shop through many decades of having car repairs. I am out the money, door panel is still a problem and now my car needs to have another auto shop repair for the very sudden problem that developed while in their shop.

My daughter stopped in on her way home to Kansas City from college with a motor problem that was about to strand her. We were in a big pickle as my wife was in the hospital and I was not able to "rescue" my daughter. This was on a Friday afternoon and Chad dropped everything he was doing, diagnosed the problem, replaced the offending part and got my daughter back on the road in no time. This was a huge relief to me and my family. This was a classic situation where you think you're about to be taken advantage of (we thought the transmission was going out) and, low and behold, we were at the right place with the right people. I live in Kansas City but, after service like this, I'm half tempted to make the drive to Lamar for anything more than standard maintenance. I really appreciate Chad and would trust him with any of my vehicles. Very refreshing to know there are still people like this in the world!
