I only use a debit card for this bank. The bank diverted charges to a credit card account; a high interest and high late fee account. The bank said the late fees would be waved and the issue was fixed. After 2 months I paid the late fee so the credit card could be cancelled. My experience with this bank is that service at the Branches is excellent, but the Credit Card office is horrible. I have taken my personal and business treasury accounts elsewhere.

I want to give Commerce Bank Branches as a WHOLE zero stars. I've been with this company since before 2015 and their customer service and support lately has been worse than anything I've had to deal with. Their workers on the support lines give you bare minimum answers, are lazy with communication and entering in personal information, and have left me without access to MY MONEY for a month now. The incompetence is ASTOUNDING. I loved commerce but this past month I have done nothing but been lied to and transferred onto the next worker to be lied to again and not helped. Each worker you talk to says something different. GET YOUR ANSWERS AND SUPPORT STRAIGHT! Customer service here is AWFUL. They need to educate themselves on the company they work for.

Good bank. Sad to see that the place is downsizing thanks to new development. Ever since the starting of COVID, the bank has been experiencing shortages, one right after another. You just can't just wave a magic wand to get service immediately. That only happens in children's story books. But in reality, it doesn't. I know that many people seem to hate reality because of all of the shootings appearing on the news quite often and they prefer their little fantasy worlds.

I recently moved to STL from the ATL and after I read the previous reviews I came to this location with great reservation to open my new checking account. The location is so darn convenient to where I live, I had to at least try! SO HAPPY I gave them a try! They have closed another close location to send reinforcement and leadership to this location and it really paid off!!! I received personal, kind and efficient customer service from Janet and I was in and out in 30 minutes! Glad to see they are paying attention to the reviews and making changes!

The Kirkwood branch is HORRIBLE. I have been banking with Commerce for over 20 years and haven't experienced anything like this. We tried adding my husband to our account and it took 3+ months. Multiple employees, including the branch manager, constantly assure you they are "working on it" (adding, mailing cards, filling out forms, requesting more forms to fill out, etc.) and nothing is ever taken care of or followed up. If you want any type of change on any of your accounts, including ordering checks, be prepared to CONSTANTLY babysit to ensure you are taken care of.

Horrible company. STAY AWAY!! I've tried all week to pay my bill. Reached out to customer service and was lied to. Now magically on the day i'm getting charged late fees my payment goes through. Sh*tty customer service. Sh*tty bank.

This is by far the slowest Commerce I have been to. The staff is nice, but expect to wait a minimum of 10-15 minutes in the drive thru even if no other cars. I'm talking even for a very basic deposit.

I recommend going to another bank if you are a person of color. Completely ignored me in the lobby while helping other customers that obviously came in after me. No need to make a scene because I have accounts at better institutions with exceptional customer service.

I have recently encountered two young women and a young man that have been pleasant, positive and professional, the young man asked if I needed help he’d get someone, and the one you lady Jackee once she completed her time with another customer was so so bubbly personable professional and nice her demeanor her whole attitude was refreshing and I LOVED her attitude so any visiting Commerce Kirkwood please be just as nice as they are to you!

This is the only Commerce bank within 50 miles that has a coin counter machine and it's always out of order. When I walked in, the entire place looked like a ghost town and nobody greeted me or would talk to me while waiting in the lobby. Every other commerce I've been to has been very friendly and welcoming but this one wouldn't even give me the time of day.
