I have been taking my car to D&H since I first started attending school in Kirksville. I have never met a more honest mechanic in my life. D&H know what they are talking about and they are going to do what is best for you and your vehicle, not what is best for them. They care deeply about their customers and they have been a crucial help with my vehicle while I am away from home. I prefer to use D&H over my parents mechanic back home because they are that good at what they do and they care that much about each person who steps through their door. To any person looking to find a trusted mechanic, D&H is the mechanic for you. Thank you for all that you do D&H!

I had a great experience with D&H auto - they came to my rescue when my car’s battery died and I found myself stranded 45 miles from home. On his day off, the owner came and jumped my car, took my car back to the shop and put a battery in so that i could make it home safely. I was so impressed with his kindness and amazing customer service! Highly recommend!!!

I get my car work done here all the time. I wouldn't go anywhere else for my routine maintenance or if something goes wrong with my car has a woman. I don't get a run around like I have at other shops when trying to get stuff fixed. I also like how I can drop off my car on the way to work for any work to get done.

Oh my goodness, these guys went above and beyond helping me get my power steering pump fixed! They worked on my vehicle three different times but only charged me for one!!! They even gave me power steering fluid to put in while I was waiting for my appointment with them! When these guys say they’re going to take care of you they keep their word! I really appreciate their outstanding service! Thank you, guys!

My car was having serious problems while I was in town for school. I usually have my dad take a look, but I couldn’t even get the car working enough get it home (3 hour drive). My dad called around and found somewhere he thought looked good. He spoke with someone on the phone who made it a point to get my car in quickly because he “wouldn’t want his own kid stranded away from home.” This won my dad over and when I went in to drop it off/pick it up the staff were super friendly. As a women if can be a little anxiety inducing to go to a mechanics shop, but the mechanic I spoke with was so nice and listened to me when I explained what was wrong. They had my car repaired in a couple days and back good as new. This took place a semester and a half ago, and my car didn’t need another shop visit until just recently.
It started having a multitude of problems and my dad was struggling to figure out the issue in the short trips I was able to make home with my current schedule. My dad finally told me to take it back to D&H because he couldn’t figure the problems out and I needed reliable wheels before moving time in a couple weeks.
I felt comfortable enough after my last experience to call for myself. They made an appointment that worked around my time and I dropped it off the next day. The issues ended up being a bit more confusing than we thought and they kept my car far longer than expected. They called me/my dad with updates and questions as they worked. When they finally found the problem, they told my dad they wouldn’t be charging for as much as they were owed in labor time because it took so much longer than they initially told me it would. I was super grateful as a broke college student. They got it fixed and I picked it up. Everything was working great, like there had never been an issue.
A few days later, I went to start my car and it refused to start and seemed to be losing battery connection. After messing with wires, I was able to drive it straight back to D&H where I asked if they could tighten my battery bolts since I figured they’d just come a little loose (not at all a problem or unusual). They immediately took my word for it and checked my battery. Not only did they tighten my battery bolts for free, but one mechanic stopped what he was doing to make some adjustments to my battery and ensure this “won’t be a problem again”.
The mechanics I’ve interacted with here have been so kind and good at what they do. Not a single bad experience. Five stars!

DO NOT GO HERE. They 100% took advantage of our daughter. They not only did not fix the issue at hand, but caused more problems. Her car broke down 2 days after being “fixed”. We sent video proof of what they did wrong and they will not own up to anything. The parts should be under warranty and they are just basically saying “not our problem”. You should be ashamed of yourselves for your poor business practices.

I took a chance with D&H after my dad got too sick to do my usual work and I’m thankful I did! They were communicative, quick, affordable, and genuinely kind people who truly care about their customers. My car runs like a brand new car and I will definitely be going back for all my future work!
