Its nothing like the city dollar gens that are always getting robbed. And this one does not offer pick up. Really hope that changes. I just prefer to avoid people at all cost. Being from a big city... I get a little wigged out with small town eyes trying to figure out what hill i climbed over. Lol ? but I came from the flattest of lands. Illinois.

Love Dollar Generals! They always have everything you need when you don't want a huge store. They are great when traveling too, as lots of small towns have them. Employees are always working hard, they're the best. ?

Traveling the country, stopped at Dollar General in Kimberling City. I experienced the rudest employees anywhere in the country that I've traveled. I would recommend spending you're money somewhere else, even if it cost more. Highly not recommended!!!! This is a F- business in my book.

If you are going to close early, at least update the hours so people don’t drive all the way to the store just to waste gas.

SOOOO ... MY FELLOW DOLLAR GENERAL SHOPPERS!!! It's a good thing you did not voice any of your "NEGATIVE" or "DISAPPOINTED" comments in person!!! Just getting home about 8:20 pm, or so, from, my quick run for my usual snack of ice cream and $1 chips, and get back to my very late working grind, that I left to go about 7:15. I only live less than 2 minutes from Kimberling City Dollar General, I have shopped for over three years since my move here to my lovely SENIOR COMMUNITY!!! Hopefully you will understand my preface here ... I cannot be for certain this incident does not have racial undertones ... I REALLY DON'T WANT THAT TO BE PART OF THIS!!! I have already had to overcome a bit moving here. I was very familiar with the kids that have been working over the years, but recently the change has been so drastic I only saw one familiar face from the last couple of months, so really know no one on a long friendly basis. I was telling one of my neighbors to get a product we were talking about, at this store. She told me that the store now was filthy. I hadn't been in a couple of weeks, and told her it was never that way, since I had been going, and that's why I like it so well, not to mention the great kids. She told me that others were also very disappointed about the condition. I have been since that conversation, and saw what they were talking about, and tonight when I went ... I almost fell trying to avoid trash on the floor. Most aisles are "barricaded" with ... I'll just say MULTIPLE ... "carts"? ... packed to their brim, in addition to the trash. SHOCKED ... DOES NOT EVEN DESCRIBE MY SHOCK!!! There was a couple close to me and the gentleman was so angry trying to maneuver his cart, he told the lady let's go and just shoved the cart and left. Why tell boring details, you ask ... you'll see ... Soooo ... I stopped trying to maneuver myself, and just took what I had to the register to go. I'm so used to having great and frank relationships with past employee young people, cutting up etc., that I told the young man at the register ... bowing down to speak under the shield trying to be discreet ... that I had been coming for three years or so, and had never seen it this way, nasty and (sorry at this moment I cannot remember the word I used for the large carts, I don't know what they are). His response was, what do you mean nasty?, so I explained dirty. He proceeded to give me multiple excuses, and I told him I was just giving him a customer observation ... because I started hearing that tinge of defense, and tried to explain this is what a customer does, with comments, or concerns and remarks. Trying to further explain ... usually they're sent up to wherever comments are appropriate ... unfortunately now there is defensive tone ... because he was spewing every excuse he could ... down to payroll, shortages, etc., etc., etc. I was trying to finish my card transaction, and trying to listen to him go on, and finally told him ... I'm not the one that should be hearing all this ... that's for your bosses. There was another young man, and a young lady present. Turns out the young man helping me was a manager, the other an assistant manager. As I am trying to listen intently to respond appropriately, while taking my bag to leave. The young lady then walked up to the register and butted in making a supportive remark in his back, as if she was in junior high child in a school yard ... and him acting thankful for her support ... even though he was professionally wrong. As I was heading out the door ... the "young lady" made a very funky remark, to which I spoke up for myself this way ... words to this effect ... why would you even say anything ... and to the manager ... you think you can say anything you want and don't expect the person or customer you are disrespecting to respond? Not gonna happen ... I was on my way out. Because I wasn't backing down ... he then started trying to verbally kick me out of the store,
