Overall, a very disappointing experience. Poor customer service and the lumber supply in the showroom was of disappointing quality.
My husband and I have been planning to build a table and needed lumber. We were excited to buy from a local company. The website didn't seem to have a wide selection which necessitated a phone call. My husband called and found out that they carry a much wider selection in the showroom than was listed online. He inquired about a custom order and was told they can try to source longer boards than what they traditionally carry. When we called back to actually place the order, the person he spoke to acted like it was a huge inconvenience to place the order. They indicated they would call back and never did. We came into the store today (10/12/24) to find boards that would work. The four men working seemed to be put out that we were even there. They were singing and talking to each other at the registers. After we looked at the red oak options (which were damaged and of disappointing quality) we searched the store for another 45 minutes. We were never approached by any of the four employees working. We came up to the desk to place a custom order of another wood type and the employee told us to hold on (he was finishing a text). He then looked at what we wanted to custom order and told us to look at what's on the floor because he's showing more than 200 board feet in inventory. What's the issue with accepting a custom order???? We then spent another 30 minutes sorting through a section of boards trying to avoid the damaged and warped ones. As we were loading the 10th and final board to our cart an employee approached us to ask if we were finding the boards we wanted. As we left I noticed one of the employees had Spotify up on his computer screen. With several customers in the store (and us being there for more than 1.5 hours), that seems highly inappropriate.

What retail store purposefully doesn't answer their phones on Saturday. Had to drive 20 miles to the store to discover they didn't have the fence pickets I needed, and there were 5 guys just sitting and standing around the counter (who all could have answered the phone and let us know they didn't have it the pickets). Shop Menards, Lowes, and Home Depot before Schutte #youdontmattertouslumber

Great customer service! Quality products. 1 board cracked in half & driver called it in and they reached out to us in less than 30 minutes and will have replacement sent next day! Best service I have seen in years! Thank you!

Excellent service, fair pricing. I was shopping for some smooth 4x8 siding to replace some rotted 1970's Masonite batten and board siding.Schutte's a huge place and I felt like an idiot not knowing where I was going, but everyone from the guy on the phone, to the cashier, to the loader was super helpful and polite. I wouldn't be disappointed if I found another excuse to purchase from them again!

Can't even answer a phone Just a machine with no capability to talk to a person It's a long drive from Lees Summit to SW Blvd , with gas at all time highs, not knowing if they have the product in stock. Just answer the phone.

I have a construction business and know how it is when it comes to the public. My first interaction with this place was amazing. I drive 320 miles to just look at their inventory. I then spent over 500 dollars in their store The sales team gave me great turnaround on the estimate. I tell them we will be back up here to pick up this order on September 15 or the following week. We call and say we’re not coming the 15 th and will be there the 22 nd. we get on the road and are over half way there ( 145 miles) of a 325 mile trip and get told we can’t sell to you you have to order it from a Meeks store. I tell them after all this you have a choice of selling it to me or losing an 11,000 dollar order. There is more that I am not saying After all poor communication and poor customer service. I would not recommend this business in anyway shape or form. Hopefully no one else gets this treatment either.

Exactly what I needed. Called to double check was in stock went down a couple hours later and picked it up. Everyone went above and beyond to make sure I got the right product and was extremely helpful and accommodating.
