A friend and I just happened to walk by the store on our way to the art store on the corner. We went in and were fascinated to find shelves full of board games and books and a calendar of dance lessons, murder mystery nights and other social events. We browsed the store and talked to the beautiful young storekeeper and Hondo the Russian Blue cat who meets visitors between his naps. Stop by if you're interested in a new environment to meet people and have fun.

East Coast Swing dancing lessons for beginners was good. Despite being nervous and unsure it was fun. Julie took the time to go back over basics that I had misunderstood. And then gave us all an amazing demonstration with her partner. Highly recommend. Will be back again!

I wanted to check out their sale on banned books. I found it on Facebook and the event details said it was going on now. Drove 30 minutes to find that it’s not open, the doors are locked, and my online event got the time wrong. That’s fine, I came before 12 which is the posted open time on the door and online. When I come back around at 12, doors are still locked. I wait ten minutes or so and try again, locked. I call the number and no answer. I really wanted to check out the books and the store but not enough to wait and see if they’re going to open in their posted time.

They have the best employee with great attitude and love the warmth feeling. Pluss they have a lot of nerdy stuff how can you go wrong with that.

Had a great time for my first class. Lex is a great teacher and really takes the time to help you understand. I will definitely go back.

redux society is the most diverse, vast, and inclusive space I've found in kc. They have lightsaber battles, board games, books, dance classes, free painting classes, and so much more. they CELEBRATE minority groups and make sure everyone feels welcome. I talked with the owner for over an hour the other night, and she has the most beautiful plan to make sure everyone always feels included!!

Can't say enough good things about Redux Society! We started taking the East Coast Swing class a few months ago in preparation for our wedding, and SO glad we did. Not only did we learn to dance (which we were not at ALL good at before), but it taught us great communication lessons as a couple and gave us a wonderful community of people to look forward to seeing every week!Still loving coming here post-wedding now. :) Extra props to our incredible instructor Lexie for teaching a couple non-dancers how to LOVE dancing!

This is my new favorite spot in KC, and I’ve barely scratched the surface in what they have to offer. The classes they host in their back room are so much fun. I’ve tried swing, lightsaber combat, and burlesque. Their book selection is delightful and very thoughtfully curated, the gift selection, while small, is as well. I can’t wait to attend the different events they host and play some games. It brings some truly fabulous people together. Also, if you sanitize your hands you can pet the shop cat!

My boyfriend and I went to the Last Chance for Romance night and they taught us a couple of dances. The team was down to earth and funny! We bought a punch card to get discounts on future classes because we can't wait to go try some other classes.Update: went back, again, for a buchata cladding and it was just as fun!

Redux Society welcome to the community! This place is so interesting! It's not just a bookstore/game store as it may appear from the windows. This place is way bigger than it looks as well! You can take dance classes here. From salsa, bachata, and swing there is so many choices to pick from! You can have a lightsaber fight here! Star Wars murder mystery say what?! Be sure to check their calendar out to see everything this place has to offer! We stopped in and we were welcomed right away by the amazing kind owners! We soon learned there was so many choices of things to do here! A wonderful addition to Kansas City's art district located in the Crossroads! We bought a book and checked out all the awesome games. We would definitely come back and buy from this awesome store!

They cancelled the murder mystery for Friday May 20, 2022 because of no AC. That's fine and probably a good thing, but it would have been nice if they had sent emails to those of us that had purchased tickets. 3 of us showed up for it because they didn't send and email about it. They did send a confirmation when I purchased, but couldn't send one to let me know it was rescheduled. Not very professional at all! I will NEVER attend anything there because of that! Can't trust them to send notifications when there are problems.

Redux Society is one of the most unique ships I've been to in a while. Locally owned, incredible and knowledgeable staff, and a great atmosphere. They support LGBTQ+ authors and clientele, they connect with local groups for their events and inventory, and they constantly have some of the best events in the area to meet new people. I keep coming back for their dance nights, and I've gotten into so many book series thanks to the friendly faces at the front desk. Check this place out, you won't regret it

I attended an event as a vendor at Fire House KC and was able to work alongside Lucy with Redux Society. I was impressed with her interaction with the wedding couple while teaching them to dance. She is knowledgable and friendly, and had the couple performing a wedding dance in mere minutes. I would definitely recommend Lucy and Redux Society for dance instruction!
