I originally just did drop in classes to support my friend, and longtime workout buddy, in her new role as a trainer, but now I attend classes on Saturday consistently! The people are all awesome and supportive! I absolutely love working out with this Saturday bunch!

The highest praise I can give to Coleen, Angela, Kelly, and Amie at Phys. Ed. KC (I only am able to hit evening classes, so I haven't seen all the instructors), is that I can always point on the calendar to a couple of hours a week where I will be challenged, supported, and happy. Beyond improvements in my overall strength, and running resilience, this place is just fun. The Second Best Nitro on tap helps too.

A great gym filled with friendly people with varied fitness goals. It feels like a community more than any gym I have been a part of. They make free weights fun for those of us not inclined to like them and I enjoy the focus on running for cardio (just not as much when it's cold out). Coleen's energy is contagious and the vibe is great!

Coleen Shaw-Voeks, Angela Fitle and the rest of the Phys. Ed KC staff have completely changed the way I approach working out and work towards living a healthier life-style. They consistently go out of their way to make sure I am staying accountable and doing the right things the right way. The culture Coleen has established in this place is truly one-of-a-kind and will keep you coming back. With a combination of tough-love, motivation, attention to detail and an absolute love for what they do, you're sure to see the positive change in your life and health! I definitely have.

Phys Ed KC is my favorite gym ever! Featuring challenging classes that are tailored to the attendants, free group runs with amazing coaches, and the most beautiful yoga space I've ever seen. Every class is truly focused on the people in attendance, so no class is too easy or too difficult. These trainers know their stuff! Early morning and evening classes tend to be high intensity, while 8am classes are a bit more mindful and pilattes inspired. Classes I love: Strength for Runners, Lunchtime Recess, Liftology and AP Liftology (where we focus on a single lift for a month...December is squat month!) Not sure? Follow Phys Ed's Instagram and Facebook to see how much fun we're having!

Coleen Shaw-Voeks will change you. She has the knowledge and experience to change your body. But it is her kindness, her random silliness and her fierce determination to keep you motivated that makes it all truly work. She is a magician and will work her way into your mind and soul and before you know it you have a better body and a full heart. Phys Ed is a special place. Check it out if you are wanting a hard as hell workout...and a connection to real people that give a damn about you. You'll find both.

Coach Coleen is a no nonsense experienced fitness trainer who has a pulse on the running community and knows first-hand what it takes to push yourself to your physical limits. She offers free community classes and runner-specific workouts. I highly recommend taking her classes or using her running expertise to reach your own fitness goals.
