We've been coming to North Oak Animal Hospital for a couple years and have always had outstanding service and care. We adopted a kitten recently and he ended up having very serious medical concerns. North Oak and Dr. Evans were able to see him same day and helped coordinate his end of life care in a very respectful and humane way. We were allowed a lot of time to respect him after his passing, they explained everything that was going to happen and even allowed us time beforehand to make sure that our family was able to come to say goodbye. Our deepest thanks are with this care team and we're truly grateful we made the decision to transport him here for his care instead of stay at the animal ER.

Definitely 5 stars. They were able to take my dog, Milly today as a walk-in and a new patient when they had a full schedule. So Milly was considered an emergency since they worked her in. I was very pleased with Dr. Evans and the tech who took care of Milly. You could see the love they have for our pets. We were in and out in one hour or less. I was very pleased with the bill which included the emergency fee. I highly recommend them if you are looking for a vet.
Yes, Milly got coned so she can't lick the meds off her hiny.

Dr. Evans and Staff provide amazing and professional care to our cats and enormous Great Pyrenees. We have recently added an English Cream Golden Retriever puppy who has been diagnosed with hydrocephalus. Puppy is doing surprisingly well. We feel confident in trusting the North Oak Team with his continued care. Thank you!!!

Front desk staff get cocky, rude, and lie. They told me that the doctor couldn't give my dog meds before an actual diagnosis because 'that would be illegal.' Which right afterwards, the doctor gave me a call and gave me a prescription, even though the test wasn't done yet. After the doctor wrote the prescription for my dog, I had to call back to ask about the medication dose as a pharmacist said that dose didn't exist, the front desk staff at the vet told me to shop around to find it, because the pharmacist didn't know what they were talking about. I looked everywhere, went to 4 different stores and online, and couldn't find that dose anywhere.I used to love this vet, but after this incident, I don't feel very well taken care of anymore. Like my concerns and worries were brushed aside by the front desk people. The doctors themselves are good, but I'm going to be shopping around for a new vet after the way the front desk addressed my concerns and handled this situation.

I don’t have a bad comment! I very much love this clinic for my pet. But I didn’t give 5 stars bc of concern for lack of precautions taken for the New Upper Respiratory Dog Virus. I just called for a Face, Feet, Fanny? I asked what precautions are the clinic taking for the New Canine Respiratory Disease Outbreak. I was told that they don’t let the dogs around each other and put them in a seperate kennel. I asked politely ok, would it be possible for my pet to wear a cone while she is there to prevent her from licking surfaces and things. Bc it can be caught amongst dogs from a surface if another infected dog was in same kennel, or caught if the same water dish is shared, and if the same dog is on a counter from where a previous infected dog was and etc. The lady was polite and patient and said if she is current on all vaccines then she will be fine. I politely said ok I understand. Then asked well she does have very high anxiety, bc she does. Would I be able to wait in the lobby and when she is finished I will be there so no need for her to be in the kennel. She said um let me ask. Then came back and said we can’t do that and there really would not be a need to do it and I said ok it’s ok. She was never rude and very patient and polite. I just feel like precautions for this new Virus should be taken more highly. Dogs can still catch and have and or spread if they are current on all vaccines. So I was a little concerned for what I was told.I know some states are listed for being confirmed of the dogs with the virus. Missouri is not listed. But it’s ridiculous still bc I just traveled to Colorado over the weekend with my pet and Colorado is listed as a states for confirmed cases. So just bc a state isn’t listed doesn’t give means to not take precautions!I will continue to come here bc she does have a very good doctor here. But I do really feel better precautions should be in order for this New Virus.
