Loved working with Sonora to get my taxes done! I've been working with her for the past 3 years and I'm glad Block has people like her. She is fast, accurate, and can handle my complicated return with ease :)

This place is truly a criminal organization. Like most HR blocks, thier bottom line is their priority. They take advantage of people's lack of knowledge on tax issues. They charge for unnecessary services. Unfortunately I had a friend who was a victim of thier scams. I learned first hand in NJ not the company you want handling your taxes.

I've been using H&R for a few years for my business. I always think that they overcharge for their services. but my accountant here made it worth my while. He was good at 'over answering' my questions. he gave me several examples of how things could go sideways if I didn't follow the letter of the law. which I appreciate. I'll probably be back.

Find and support your local C.P.A…OR…TurboTax is a bargain…TaxAct , Credit Karma, Jackson Hewitt…!!!Do not use H&R Block IMHO! Tax returns for 2019 were prepared by an H&R Block bullpen employee???. They input the incorrect SSN and this incorrect input impacted 2019 AND 2020 and refunds were delayed for both 2019 and 2020 AND PROBABLY 2021. Tax year 2019 was finally received after an 18 month delay. Tax year 2020 is still delayed for almost 15 months caused by the 2019 error. This process has been ongoing for almost 3 years...with no end in sight! An H&R office manager acknowledged the error and prepared a representation letter on the corrective steps that he would undertake to correct the errors. Copies of the letter were given to the parties and the office was asked to put a copy in the respective files.Facts:1. H&R Block prepared the return!2. The taxpayer, a minor, merely signed the returns that H&R Block prepared and processed!3. Their representative (Mr. B) acknowledged the errors!4. They provided a letter how they would correct the errors.5. A company “Senior Paralegal?????”, MSA, in a letter dated December 2, 2021 challenged the authenticity of the letter referenced above and their accountability stating “We have no evidence that delays you appear to allege…are attributable to H&R Block”. They admitted an error but they have no evidence????.6. Further information continues to allege shamefully that a minor is ultimately accountable for the input error. H & R alleges that they were provided inaccurate data verbally or ?. Go Figure. They had multiple W-2’s to review, not 1, not 2, but multiple W-2’s with all of pertinent information needed to accurately prepare a proper return (s) such as Name, payee, address, SSN, withholdings…and to specifically verify the SSN. That is SOP for the overwhelming cadre of tax preparers. Apparently, it is not for this operation and, accordingly, that magically wipes away any H&R accountability!!!! H&R Block has not provided one verifiable document to which the taxpayer is entitled to prove their allegation of no responsibility. They only make shallow claims.6. Past representatives did not give any evidence, IMO, that they thoroughly had strong desire to investigate the matter such as talking to the preparer of the returns in 2019, the supervisor, reviewing the files, etc. to expedite a quick and just resolution! They hid behind privacy mumbo jumbo…totally unnecessary if they would just investigate the matter internally. You make a mistake…own up to it. You do not need redundant forms and consents to find out you made an obvious error...except to blur the facts. The facts are clear!7. Delay, deny, attempt to bully and intimidate is the apparent customer service model that H&R employs, IMO.This disadvantaged the taxpayer financially and, yet, they claim no responsibility. The taxpayer had to borrow money for school needs since the refund money was not available and, yet, it isn’t H&R’s fault. It made completing FAFSA more challenging since the returns was not corrected and, yet, it isn’t H&R’s fault. It has the potential to complicate her Social Security earnings calculations as well. It all began with the incorrect preparation and, yet, they claim… not me, not me…the man behind the tree and, therefore, it isn’t H&R’s fault!IMO, this is unprofessional and indicative of a poor work product. They blame a “minor”.p.s. Information has recently been obtained by a U. S. Senate staff in discussing with the Tax Advocate Service indicating the possibility that H&R block may not have even mailed in all of the returns that they stated they would process. IT JUST GOES ON AND ON!! SAD FOR A COMPANY AND REP'S TO ACT IN THIS MANNER!!! SHAMEFUL IMO.

Outrageous prices. Did nothing special to save us money and instead we paid over $500 for them to do our taxes. Could have done the same thing on TurboTax for half the price easily.

After years of using Turbo Tax I decided that I would use a tax prep firm as I despise doing taxes. I went online to look for a tax prep company to do them this year. I saw rave reviews for this HR Block office and had high hopes for a great experience.Everything started great. I set an appointment and dropped off tax documents. Got a call a few weeks later that my taxes were ready. Went in to sign everything, got packet with my return paperwork and headed home. Everything seemed OKThis is where it gets interesting. 20-30 minutes later I get a call from HR Block asking if I had received another persons tax return in error. I go through the packet they sent me with and sure enough, along with my return, they sent me home with another persons tax return too. I could not believe it. I had all their personal info such as SSN, employment history, income, address, ect... I told them yes and they asked if I could bring it back. I told them sure. I gather the other persons documents and return them to the office. They said thanks for bringing this back and sorry. Really, that's it?Fast forward to this. May I get a letter from the IRS stating that I owe $ instead of a refund. I take my tax packet back to this office and asked if they could look into this. They did and I was told that they made a error and did apply both Recovery Rebate Credits we received. I asked if I provided the proper forms, they went back and looked and indeed the forms were there, they just entered it in wrong. I asked about the HR Block accuracy guarantee and was told sorry but there is nothing they can do and that I needed to pay the IRS.Ok I get it if I owe, then I have to pay. But, why was the information entered in wrong and what about the HR Block guarantees????Close to $400 to have them mess my taxes up, send me with another persons return. Then have to make a return visit to their office drop someones taxes off.... What a joke... Needless to say this whole experience has been a sh*t show. If you use them I hope you have better luck than me.
