Overpriced. The bathroom doors wouldn't close. The toilet sounded like it was about to explode. It's weird that there was no fridge. Even the cheapest hotels have a mini fridge.. I know it is priced for downtown KC, but it would be a $70 room in the middle of nowhere.
I almost forgot that the valet was speeding in our car and then almost got into an accident. Right in front of us.

I had a fantastic view of downtown Kansas City from my room on the 17th floor. I got the queen petite room and it is just big enough for the bed and a desk, so be aware of that if you get the petite room.
The fitness center is small, but adequate, and it is open 24 hours.
I dinged the rating for rooms because my room, when i checked in, was missing some items (soap, etc). Also, there were some bugs in the sink. The next day, the room was more clean and ready. The sheets / bed smelled like urine though everything looked clean. Wifi is very spotty. Sometimes the TV completely fails because of bad network connection.
The lobby looks really nice. It's a good place to just chill.
Overall, it was a good experience, though I probably wouldn't stay here again.

Very old hotel that has a cute charm to it. Only stayed 1 night but it was quiet and relaxing. This hotel attracts mostly business travelers but it is also great for tourists. They have a big restaurant and bar on the ground level, and a speakeasy bar in the basement. Rooms with a king size bed are spacious. Elevators are older so they are smaller, but at least there are 3 of them. They do not have a concierge. The location of the hotel is good but there is a lot of construction in front and around the area. Valet parking is a little confusing.

Disappointing, lower your expectations if you are staying here. Definitely not worth the price I paid. Parking isnt free, no complimentary breakfast, no microwave or refrigerator in the room, and no room service. Location is the only thing about this hotel that was a positive. I paid $600 for 2 nights thinking it would be luxury and the room was anything but that. Be preparred to spend an insane amount of money, for really no reason. I checked out a week ago, still waiting for my $100 hold to be refunded, that I wasn't told about until I asked about the charge. Called the hotel, they are no help. Not recommended, will not be back. Save your money.
Rooms: King room. Very basic, not worth the price. No microwave, no refrigerator, small rooms. Motels have more accommodations than this did, for $600, I should get at least bare minimum.
Nearby activities: Power and Light is within walking distance
Walkability: Most things are within walking distance. Bars, shops, grocery store, all within walking disance.
Food and drinks: Restaurant is pricey, but that was expected. No complimentary breakfast or drinks. Be prepared to spend quite a bit.

Ryan Farver is the best, most professional Hilton employee i have come across in 10 + years of staying at this chain.

Great location. Beautiful decor. Dreadful customer service. Disappointing overall experience.
No fridge or microwave in room. Fruit flies were all over my food the entire time in the Italian restaurant there. The valet is the most unprofessionally run operation I have ever witnessed in the hospitality business. They lost my keys to my rental and I was two hours late to my conference (WHERE I WAS SUPPOSED TO BE PRESENTING) because the valet took the keys home with him, and our access passes were locked in the vehicle.
The manager assured me that the valet charges would be taken off my bill and that I would be somehow compensated, neither of which happened.
The speakeasy, however, is absolutely fantastic, and may honestly be the best hidden gem in the entire city.

I booked this hotel before I looked at the reviews. And then after looking at the reviews I was second guessing my reservation and very nervous to stay here. There were complaints about the cleanliness and I had absolutely zero complaints about that. There were complaints about hearing noise from the street outside. Well, you are in the middle of Kansas City, so... I've been in brand new build hotels in a downtown busy city and I can still hear the street no matter what kind of window you put in. People complain about hearing noise from rooms and hallways. I never had that complaint. I did put some white noise on my phone just in case. But again, zero complaints about that. I think people see Hilton and they assume it's a newer hotel. You have to see this more as a boutique hotel because it's such an historic place. There are things you have to forgive that they cannot control. You have to love the ambiance, the history, and the vibe of the place and it forgives things that you may not have liked. I thoroughly enjoyed just sitting and looking around. From the incredible foyer, the Speakeasy, the diamond lounge, the second level lounge area, even the rooms were really cool with details that made you think it had always been like this. The fixtures in the bathroom had the feel of vintage yet all the updates you need. There were complaints about having to use valet and parking. Again, this isn't a brand new build outside of town where there's a huge parking lot. This is in the middle of downtown KC. This is very common in big cities. There were complaints about employees being rude. The only thing I would say about that is the gentleman who checked us in was very brief and not super friendly. Which some people might think that is rude and maybe this shouldn't be a job for him since he's interacting with the public. But I think it was just his personality. Just not very warm and friendly, which I can see is as negative with somebody who is checking you into a hotel and greeting you. I absolutely loved my stay here and when we are visiting we will stay here again!!

The walls are razor thin, you can hear every door slam (why does everyone love to slam their door the hardest they can?), and every ding dong who wanted to peel out on the street. Have a white noise device on blast with ear plugs.
The shower would not drain and the plug wouldn’t stay up so I had to grab the plug every 30 seconds or so to drain.
The room was squeaky clean and the amenities were nice. Not worth the price though.

The rooms were okay but lacked mini fridge and the bathroom was pretty cramped.
The walls are also extremely thin as we could hear everything from the next door rooms.
Sunday morning breakfast spread was worse than a Hampton Inn in express and there was only one staff working the restaurant area.
Great location but I would recommend skip this place to go to any better more modern hotel in the area
