“I had been on a mission to find the best strawberry rhubarb pie in the city and was pleasantly surprised to find it at the Little Gallery Frame Shop. The filling is beautifully spiced and contains lots of fruit instead of relying on excessive amounts of sugary syrup for flavor. If I had any shame, I might be embarrassed by the number of pies I have bought from them in the short amount of time since I’ve known about them, but they’re just that good (plus I knew rhubarb season wouldn’t last forever ?). The mixed berry pie is also amazing and the couple that owns the place is really sweet.”

“Selection : Home Decor freaks this is the place for you. No other store in KC inspires me more. I literally could roam this store for hours. I love the small things to the furniture pieces. There is surely something for everyone. Perfect place to shop if you are looking for a house warming gift as well. Unique and charming pieces. I really felt like every corner was a page from an AD magazine. Service : Kind and friendly. I didn't feel like I was being hounded -- which is great. But I also felt like I was acknowledged so if I did need any assistance I wasn't running up and down the stairs. Value: The pricing is pretty accurate and reflects the trends of today. All the tables are in one huge area ( great selection) end tables side tables bedside tables.. desks.. behind the couch you name it they have it..Rugs runners mats.. towels lamps bed spreads comforter sets and sets sheets. Throw Pillows and much more in the house Houseware stuff.. kitchen gadgets pots pans cleaning supplies etc...Then all the decor!!!!! Floral stems flowers such a great selectionAnd so much more!!! “A group of friends and I were walking through the Crossroads during First Fridays, trying to scope out another under-the-radar gallery...you know, one that wasn't so crowded and was more likely to provide us with free beer. Instead, we stumbled upon Deadleaf Designs, a killer local carpentry shop that specializes in eco-friendly production methods. Their products range from as small as a keychain to as large as completely custom built-in cabinetry. In between, they have some of the coolest furniture I've seen. The fact that it's made in Kansas City? It makes it even better! I would describe the aesthetic of Deadleaf Designs as a modern take on reclaimed barn wood. They're big on repurposing scrap woods from a variety of trees with a whole range of stains. They seem to take this rule and apply it in different manners, so their work can either look either hyper-structured or organic. Every piece is completely unique, which I can get behind. While not outrageously priced, these pieces are certainly not discount furniture. However, they do have many smaller items that can bring the same aesthetic without breaking the bank. They have a great line of mirrors, and a pretty dang unique key rack as well. I personally own one of their wine racks. A single piece of reclaimed barn wood, rough at the edges, this piece is deceptively simple. It is absolutely a statement piece in my condo, and virtually every guest I have entertained has commented on it. I love Deadleaf Designs, and I hope they have a long and successful career here in KC. Oh, and when we stumbled into their showroom that first night? They totally gave me a beer.”

“I LOVE Hobby Lobby, I always have! I tell myself I'm just going to run in and grab something, then 2hours later... I've wanted to get a part-time job there, just because I like the company, and the people are always so friendly, but I know all of my paychecks, and then some would go to them every week. Lol... I sent my son there for something and he texted me saying "This is a mom's paradise." Ummm yeahhh! I do wish they would bring back the 40% off coupons they used to have.”

“This store is so much different than any other second hand furniture store. Everything in the store is high end and you could pass anything off in there as brand new for a fraction of the price. My roommates and I were looking for a sectional and found the perfect match here. Great people that ran a wonderful business, Denise was super helpful with our search. Great communication and actively willing help you in the search. They were also willing to work around us and our schedules to ensure we got what we wanted. Could not recommend more!”

It is a little bit on the pricer side but the quality of everything is so good. I love everything I get there and its totally worth it. Ive gotten some great gifts there as well for friends, family and even little kids. The women that work there are helpful when you need them. They also do a great job gift wrapping. This store is small but mighty in what they carry.”

“If you are looking for things for your kitchen Pryde’s has got you covered. Their customer service was excellent and they even offered us tea or coffee while we shopping. Make sure you visit their bakery while you are there. Their fresh baked goods were so good. Their pie crust is so flaky and buttery. I honestly could have eaten a whole pie of just crust.”
