It was a very bad experience and I was highly disappointed with the holiday inn I have been to so many of them and never had an issue.

There’s just no way around it, it’s a 2 star hotel and experience. Room smelled so weird we could hardly stand it, mold around the shower all on the caulking. The breakfast staff was obviously struggling to keep up as we had very few options available. It’s close to the stadium and my son and I played in the pool. But, I think next time we will stay somewhere nicer and just have a longer drive to the game.

You pull in and the parking lot if full of weeds, grass is not cut and brown. There is a camera stand in the middle of the parking lot. 2 homeless passed out in front of the pool part of the building. The outside of the building is discolored and falling apart.
The experience only gets worse once you enter, we walk up to check in, and the person behind the desk does not welcome you, is short in answers and annoyed to be checking you in. He then says after 8 the only door that works is the front door.
We then head to our room, and there is stains on the carpet that are oddly pink/red. We get to the door and it has obviously been broken into before as it has pry bar marks on the door and door frame. We get into the room and the bathroom is dirty, walls are stained, drywall screws are uncovered all over the walls.
We left to head to a Royals game, on the way out I ask the person at the desk(different one) if the area is safe, they chuckle and say I guess. Could tell it's a forced lie. We come back from the game and there are now 3 people passed out in the lot at 9 pm. We pack our stuff and leave.
I stay at numerous holiday inns and hotels in general every year, this is the worst hotel I have ever entered...

The room was not the cleanest. The fire alarm went off at 6am our first night. The staff is just sorta there. They don’t care one way or another. The outside could use some sprucing up for sure.

This Hotels make Holiday Inn look really bad. When you see the outside you would think it's an okay Holiday Inn, well that is not the case. You would know when you walk in and go to the elevator that they do not keep the place clean the elevator carpet was flitty and stink in there. It was scuff marks all on the walls and elevator. When you walk down the halls the doors are dirty looking with scuff marks all over the doors even the carpet is nasty looking. The wall paper is almost peeling off the walls. When we got our room and walked in the door it looked like someone was trying to break in the door. The carpet and chairs are dirty and the letout chair was broke everything in this place is run down. It smelled like pee in there, the Curtains were torn up and the covers felt wet. The bathroom was not that clean it was rust around the tub. I couldn't sleep because of the stinky carpet. We complained about it and they gave us another room. This room smelled better and looked much cleaner, but as I was spraying the beds down and looked under the sheets it was a needle under the sheets ? I was vex... We came down for a funeral and the room made us want to stay in our car...The door look like someone tried to pry that open also. There was beetle bugs starting to come out the next night crawling all over the walls and that morning bugs were in the bathroom. This is not a good hotel, I would not recommend you to stay there. The only good thing I could say is the staff Marliyn and Katlin was nice. And the breakfast was nice. But they need to close this place down and renovated it and get maids in there, we never saw maids there cleaning. They do not clean this place good. I would never stay there again. It's was very bad ? ☹️
Rooms: Not very well cleaned and kept up.
Nearby activities: It is some restaurants and stores up the road.
Safety: Did not feel safe the room doors have marks like someone was trying to break in.
Food and drinks: The breakfast was not bad.

Asked for towels around 11, again at 5 receive towels until after 7, we had called again. Asked to check in early, we're turned away until 3. They started checking people in early that day at 1:30. The woman at the desk was rude and was not friendly.
Nearby activities: Went to concert at sport complex, hotel couldn't handle being busy.

The only thing this place has going for it is its easy access to Kauffman and Arrowhead. It’s a quick little jaunt.
The breakfast isn’t bad with a pancake maker and the usual quick breakfast items included.
The elevator is EXTREMELY SLOW and very stuffy.
The hallways are EXTREMELY warm. The carpet in the hallways are almost black they are so dirty/stained and are in desperate need of being replaced. The carpets in the room wasn’t any better. The room was very “moist” but it did keep cool in the 90+ degree temps.
I’d pass on this one. The convenience of the location isn’t worth the uncomfortableness of staying here.

This place needs torn down. Horrible part of town, doors lock because of crime. Room was dirty, the bathroom counter had not even been wiped off. The door to our room would barely lock, it looked like it had been broken into several times. I needed to sleep so bad I just slept in my clothes, and left as soon as I woke up. The hallway reaked of smoke. Thumbs down

To really too close the stadium, but for a single night not too bad
