“This is by far my favorite hardware store in midtown. I was just there with Steven and he went above and beyond to help me get screws for my license plate. He walked out with me to make sure they fit and then installed them. You won’t get that kind of attention and consideration at a big box hardware store. “Bravo Euston! Thanks to Tom (original Tom who has been there the longest, apparently there are three in total) and Cindy I was able to acquire a M10 x 1.0 die for repairing a thread on my moped crankshaft. This is after calling Home Depot, Lowes, visiting an ACE Hardware and calling another, no other hardware store had it on hand except for Euston. I am incredibly impressed at the availability in store so that I could make the repair on my cherished Maxi Sport and get it back on the road TODAY. The aspect that is equally impressive to the availability of the part is that I received a high five upon the purchase of this rare item! What an excellent experience.”

“So happy places like this still exist. I purchased four pairs of Malco locking pliers from Harry J Epstein Co. Their prices beat everone by a substantial margin, so much that I wasn't even sure they were legit until I did my research. I saw that they were a business since the '30s and have been in the same location since opening. They are a business that still does business the old fashion way of having people there to help you. If you do an online chat, there is an actual person responding. If you call, there is a person who will answer the phone. I love places like this and will try to give them business whenever possible. I did have a question that I sent to them through a chat, and someone quickly responded. I placed my order on a Sunday, and they were shipped on Monday. The package arrived to me in Los Angeles in a few days, and was very well packaged, with substantial wrapping around each plier to assure they arrived in good condition. You could tell a person wrapped them by hand and cared about what they were doing. I can't recommend places like these enough and hope they last another 100 years. I am very satisfied and will think of them first next time I need something else they provide. Please help keep businesses like this alive.”

“This is one of my favorite places in Kansas City. Bulk spices, (unique ones at that!), flower seeds, feed for animals, gift sets for everyone in the family, and gorgeous flowers in the spring, summer and fall! They have fun trinkets and things you can actually use for your yard or farm and it's all located in a delightful old building with wood floors that still creak and the architecture is absolutely marvelous to look at while shopping! Please pick up some of their dip mixes- they are awesome for chips/ veggies or even just to marinate with! Have fun!”

“This business is top notch. Traveling home from Montana to St. Louis I had a bearing go out on my utility trailer. I stopped there to see about renting a flatbed to get it home. They suggested the might be able to repair it. I continued home while they took a look at it. It turned out it needed an entire axle - not something they do. I got a flatbed in St. Louis and went back to get my trailer and they helped load it a day and a half later. For the diagnosis, the storage and the help loading it they did not charge anything. For anyone in the KC area looking for a customer friendly rental place this is it!”

However, the lady in receiving was very nice and made sure that we were not only unloaded but unloaded quickly. “A decent Ace Hardware. They have minimal turnover because I persistently see several long term employees over the last 3 years in the area. The store is decently kept and a helpful staff. I wish they had a better selection of some things, but it has 90% of anything you would need to build a house. Key cutting and knife sharpening is a nice touch.”

I had a choice of doing a virtual measure of my windows with a rep from Rockwood or having someone come to my home. I chose virtual. Skeptical but WOW. Candy Armer from Rockwood was awesome. Together, we got it done with little effort and she got me an estimate. Next, I got an email from a member of Rockwood's Concierge team. They informed me that they were there for me throughout the process. They made arrangements for the final measure. The installer came and was terrific. We went over all the details, how the shutters would be mounted, open, close. My windows can be tilted in and cleaned top and bottom -- all accounted for. A date was set for installation, Doug came, installed them AS SCHEDULED. NO DRAMA and I L O V E this product. They are gorgeous! I highly recommend both Home Depot and Rockwood. Home Depot has the BEST payment plans to you can pay over time. I've done it many times and had great success. Rockwood exceeded my expectations multiple times.”

“For once, I needed a specific plumbing wrench for frozen pvc pipes I needed to take apsrt.II got LUCKY and ran into a FEMALE (whose father IS a plumber, and it was the BEST EXPERIENCE I have had there in years. I wish I had gotten her name. I not only picked up what I needed but felt emboldened to fix it myself and saved myself $499 in the process.For what it's worth, the first guy in the door that I asked where to find these types of wrenches didn't even know where anything was, which has been my typical experience there. I've also been treated like an idiot because I'm female, IMHO. I do all my own home repairs and frequent the Home Depot store because they DO NOT treat me the same way.That's why I mentioned the female because I was treated with RESPECT and actually helped for the first time. Kudos to finally hiring women. Not all of us are bumbling idiots!”
