Good place to work, management is 180, they cancle culture and tradition, was a big issue for me to wear my kilt for a holiday, so I wore my kilt EVERYDAY in spite, they had their manager come to me, asked me "you wearing anything under your kilt"Then comes to me with the dress code paper, I laughed out loud, was told that I have to wear shorts over my boxers that was under my kilt.. I again laughed out loud. Also, if you've any medical conditions upon needing a restroom, or any condition at that point, just don't use the restroom during work hours, the managers would appreciate it, if you'd use the restroom on your break time and not on company time; I laughed out loud when my manager told me that "I'd prefer you not to use the restroom during work hours".When working there, you are no longer human, they'll treat you criminally if something even small happens, could have made a small error like 1 for a 7 and oh their world is on fire and it's your fault because their so hellbent for their bonuses, money, screw how the worker feels, it's all about management's bonuses and pocket linings. Also, if you sign up for a position, don't expect that's what you're going to be doing, and you don't get paid to be cross trained, so if your crossed trained and diverse, don't expect to be compensated for the level of knowledge gained within the company.Being trained is only half done, the rest of the knowledge gained is all "hear-say training" you'll be asking ppl what to do, when an error comes up, it's on you, even if you weren't PROPERLY TRAINED.The way the place is ran, is like it's ran by a bunch of confused ants.Ah forgot, there's talks of UNION going there, hope yall find the Easter eggs before the take over ;)

The distribution center does not have a sales counter in the normal sense. Orders can be picked up there on a emergency basis or if Grainger directs you there for some reason. Usually you have orders shipped or pick them up at your local branch.Entering the property, you check in at a security hut, and are directed to what door to drive to.There was a bit of a wait at the main entrance, but once I was directed to the will call door, I was in and out in maybe 5 minutes.Very nice facility, kind of hard to comprehend how really big it is .

I went for my 1 on 1 interview after my Zoom interview. I first met with a Brittney, who did a wonderful job and was very informative during the warehouse tour. I then met with the guy that did my Zoom interview (Steve), who also did an awesome job providing all the details about the first day benefits and the history of the company. Steven was very knowledgeable concerning all of the Grainger information he provided, we also talked in general about company expectations and everything. Mr Steve was excellent!I then spoke with a woman named Alex or Alexa (if I got her name wrong, I fully apologize) and she finished telling me everything about the hiring process that I needed to know.Grainger is a great place to be employed and I Pray that I get my foot in the door.....I will prove to them that I am a great employee, no matter what my background was.To all reading this who has had "trouble" in the past, don't sweat it at all.....all you have to do is continue to have Faith in your Higher Power and Faith in yourself and I promise you that the right people will be watching at the right time in order to help you to continue to move forward in a positive manner. Trust me bcuz I am speaking from experience!

Prospective employees:When I first started here I was wondering why their turn over rate was over 50% but after being subjected to incompetent management that picks and chooses what rules/policies to enforce and against whom I can see why, I exceeded my monthly goal during my tenure but never got acknowledgment from any member of management but the moment I made TWO errors out of the 12,000 plus tasks that I completed, management was quick to acknowledge that and in a condescending manner.Work life balance is not possible here as the turn over rate is so high that they subject you to mandatory over time so depending on the shift you can start as early as 8 AM and stay as late as 10 PM.Their attendance policy is enforced depending on the supervisor and every employee is subject to more slack than others depending on the supervisor.Overall the job itself is easy but it definitely has its drawbacks.

They were average speed on getting my items outside to me. Not slow but not quick, that was ok, but they need to get over the not letting you use the restroom policy. For real!!

I made my first visit to this distribution center Friday afternoon and was greeted by the security officer on duty Herbert.I could tell Herbert enjoys his job by the way he treated me today. I was in and out the gate in approximately 15 minutes as I had a drop trailer. Thanks Herbert and Grainger for making this a most pleasant visit.
