Overall - one of the most disappointing stays at an Embassy I've ever had. It's old and extremely dated. The carpet is disgusting, the bathrooms are incredibly small, and overall it just needs a ton of work done. The breakfast was AWFUL - soggy waffle, ran out of bacon, no organization, not to mention the breakfast staff was extremely rude.
The only saving grace were the bartenders David and Andre who were fun to talk with and very pleasant.
I'll find another hotel the next time I'm in the area.

This is a hard review for me to write. We have stayed at this Embassy Suites before. The front desk people are kind and efficient. The service is good, but this time the PLAZA LOCATION, while wonderful for shopping with good restaurants as well as a lovely part of the city, put us a great risk. Crime is high. When we pulled into the parking garage, passing by the sign that said "enter at your own risk - not responsible for loss, damage or theft of vehicles" we noticed two young men on bikes taking pictures of every vehicle entering the garage. After gathering our luggage, we went directly to the front desk and reported the men. Front desk called security. Sometime during the night the back window of our Dodge truck had been bashed in and our truck vandalized. There were no cameras. Glass was everywhere. The hotel was very sorry and sent a nice guy with a shop vac to help remove the glass. They didn't offer to give us a break on our room or, at the very least, credit us back the $23.00 parking fee. I filed a police report to no avail. Was told there are 1000's of vehicles vandalized and stolen every year in KC. So sad. We were too afraid to stay another night. Checked out and returned home to Iowa. I thought we'd be better protected. Guess not. . .

Checked in everything was ok until I went to walk out my room and the frame fell and then I went to pull out the bed in the front room. Killed a baby roach on the wall and as you can see the roll out bed and chair was nasty as well as trash was behind the couch. My mom had to clean the front room and we had to have maintenance bring up a new mattress and take the filthy chair out.

Great place to stay close to the plaza and The square.
Food and drinks: For breakfast they have a lot of options hot/ cold cereal, muffins, fruit and fresh made omelets.

We like this place a lot. The cost for a full suite in a great area can't be beat. The happy hour and the full breakfast are also really great. Two free cocktails plus full breakfast for two people is worth $80 easily. It's a really great value in a great area. The rooms are clean and well kept. It's obviously an older hotel but I like the feel of it. Clearly modeled after the plaza. Very neat fountain and a large central area the floors surround. It's a nice hotel if you're looking for a suite and a hot tub. It's not brand new but I enjoy the feel of it's bones. I like it a lot. It feels authentic.
Rooms: Suites are fantastic for the price
Nearby activities: Westport is two blocks away. Lot of great restaurants and bars.
Safety: Perfectly safe
Walkability: Very high.
Food and drinks: Happy hour is great

Leaky sink and bathtub. Hideaway bed had no linens on it - but they did bring us some when requested.
There was not room service you had to go down to the bar and order and then back down to pick it up.
Pool area was nice.
Morning breakfast was lacking ( I believe they must have been short staffed)
They do need to tell guests that you need your hotel key to exit the parking lot- you can't get out without scanning it. But yet there are room key drops in the hotel.
Rooms: Our room was sub par 11th floor- we had asked for a view of the city so the kids could see the lights. We ended up with a parking lot view :(
Leaking sink and bathtub. Fridge froze all of our food- including the babies breast milk.
Floors had not been vacuumed between guests.
Safety: You can only enter with a key fob. Sane for parking lot
Walkability: Walkable
Food and drinks: No room service you had to go downstairs to order and pick up. Defeats the reason for ordering from service
Noteworthy details: I believe they where sort staffed during our stay

We have been staying at this hotel for several years when we go to Kansas City and we have watched it slowly decline. It is in need of a major renovation. The staff were nice and did the best with what they are working with.
Rooms: The rooms a looking very dated, older tv's, our door looked like it had been broken into in the past.

If I could rate this hotel a 0 I would because not only does their management not know how to respond to complaints but they stare at you with eyes wide open and have no response when given a complaint.
Complaint- breakfast cook is horrible. He’s obviously miserable in his job. Looked like he wished he had a different life when you walked up and asked for hash browns. Breakfast hash browns weren’t cooked, they were still cold. Asked him to cook me some and he made this smirk, ugliest look I’ve ever seen, he said I can’t use the hash browns off your plate and I said well then walk over there and get me some and all he wanted to do was argue. So, I go to the front desk, ask for a GM and I get some lady asking me how to help:..she doesn’t. She has no idea how to handle the situation.
Bottom line- I ate breakfast at a different place so they owe me for the cost of my breakfast. As well as I will NEVER recommend this horribly staffed Hilton to anyone. This was the second time I stayed here. Evening staff is great but buffet cook needs a new job. And manager needs training.

The lobby and ambience of the shared spaces were pretty good, and the room itself was very spacious (being a suite and all) but for $300+ cost to spend a night, I was disappointed by the amount of mold in the bathroom and general lack of upkeep. Likely won't return.
Rooms: The suite style rooms are spacious and can comfortably sleep 3 couples with the 2 queen bed and pull out couch option.
Nearby activities: Westport has a decent amount of nightlife to offer with several nearby bars that give off a club like feel.

The rooms were a bit outdated but clean. The price was reasonable only if you joined their club. You did get two free drinks at happy hour with decent snacks included. It's fairly close to downtown. Free parking at the property is a definite plus.

The rooms were spacious with a separate living room area that had a couch chair desk fridge microwave and extra sink. The bathroom if you turned off the lights when you turned them back on where many roaches crawling around .. We left the lights on the entire 3 days once we realized this. Parking was expensive, considering there were no other options. Breakfast was good, many options.

I expected more from a Hilton property. The entire property was dated and grimy. It seems like there were cracks and chips everywhere in the finishes in the lobby in the elevator and in the room. Room was dirty with a stained couch and carpet. Air conditioning unit was very loud almost like it had not been maintained in years. My wife spent the first night killing bugs in the room. The guy working the ready to order Breakfast seemed like he was really pissed off for some reason. Wait staff was not friendly. Lots of poor workmanship and patches everywhere. Faucet in the bathroom leaked. Bathroom fan did not work so hello stinky morning. This hotel is in need of serious update and refurbishment. Shut it down and get busy tearing everything out because it is a mess right now.
Rooms: Dirty and worn out
Noteworthy details: They charged me for parking. I will be disputing this charge.

DO NOT STAY HERE!!! The rooms are disgusting!! We had bugs in our room plus it looked like they had bedbugs. I wish I would've never booked through priceline. I spoke to the lady at the front desk about the issues in our room. She offered us a presidential suite which was just as disgusting. There was blood stains on the bathroom walls. The carpet was disgusting. I felt gross just staying here. I was offered a 1 night refund. I had multiple people tell me that their rooms was disgusting. They would never stay here again. I usually don't have any issues with embassy suites. Do yourself a favor to pay a little extra money to stay somewhere else.
