I'm currently employed at Custom Truck Utility 1 source and they treat employees great. Top of the line trucks, crane's, rail. From light crane to massive cranes and more great quality.

Difficult to work with. Paid them by check, charged credit card still and every excuse in the book. Still no refund after 45 days.Generic response "from the owner". Still nothing has been done.

Working at Custom Truck, the good, the bad and the ugly.I was there less than a year and I can say I've never worked anywhere like this company. The Good. This place just throws things to you. Every time you turn around they were bringing in lunch, giving you t-shirts, hoodies, they pay for your work boots and safety glasses... Last summer when it was so hot they gave out Yeti thermos, and in the winter they buy you clothing to help keep you warm. They have a incredible HR dept with Micheal and Tiffini. When holidays come up they usually turn a 3 day weekend into 4. At Christmas they constantly give you gifts. And free tomato plants in the spring!!! I got vacation a few months after starting, and good benefits with the exception of the 401K. I'll review that below. As far as HR concerns or any help I needed requiring someone located in building A, I can't say enough good things. But that is where the good stops. The Bad.CTOS is on a huge plot of land with several buildings, all alphabetical. A on up. I was unlucky enough to get placed in building G. This is the armpit of the group. FILTHY, animals roam free; raccoons, opossums, cats, dogs and scorpions. Yes scorpions just outside the building. The management in G is a train wreck at best. Everyone bad is mouthing someone, shifting the blame on others and just lack of any real management skills. My boss was at the top of this group. Always having tantrums about upper management at G not knowing anything (he of course new everything) and storming out never addressing his own crew for their concerns. God forbid you showed any initiative as that was always shot down and ridiculed. G also only has heat and AC in a couple little offices. And this place can get unbearably hot in the summer. It's a old steel mill (Armco) and it wasn't set up for any comforts. In the winter you freeze your butt off. The do give you extra winter gear and that helps some. I could go on and on about G, just make sure you don't get placed in that building. The UGLY!75% of my coworkers took profanity to next level. I don't like hearing foul language but hey, they build trucks so you expect that language, is not like you are there for a tea party... It wasn't just cursing tho, it was descriptive about sexual acts, body functions and of that sort. Why is that needed when talking about business? The woman next to my little office couldn't say anything without the F bomb 4-5 times in a sentence. This gets old real quick, and most of the management in G are just as guilty. You don't have this at the other building to this level. Dangerous. Everything is steel for the most part, sharp edges, rusty dirty covered at times in rodent droppings, god help you if you get cut. Lots of spitting, you are only cool if you chew tobacco. So you have that to step around.Vehicles. There are people tearing around on forklifts, 3-wheeled parts carts, etc.. And golf carts. These being the worst as they are fast and a few select people can just go flat out no honking, nothing. And they even run into parked vehicles without reprimand. Training on lifts etc is minimal, while it has gotten better you need eyes in the back of your head. OSHA was called as it was so bad.401K. They have Empower. HORRIBLE read the one star reviews. So 1 star for the company benefits and gifts throughout the year (-Empower). 2nd star for the excellent crew in HR. That's all I can give.
