Stay far far away from this scam of a hotel. My mother had heart surgery scheduled for the next morning at 7 am at St Luke's just a few blocks away so we got to the hotel the night before around 4:50 pm.
As soon as I checked in and walked to the door my mother yells from the car, "St Luke's has to reschedule the surgery". She gave me the phone and the Hospital says to cancel the hotel so I went back in and tell the clerk St Luke's canceled the surgery so we didn't need to stay.
I asked him to speak to the Hospital patient advocate but he refused. He said, "It's canceled". Well, he was a liar as they did NOT refund anything. So I spoke with the General Manager and he was extremely rude and told me "Tough luck buddy try and get a refund from Trip.com because we aren't giving you any money back".
An honest hotel would gladly give a refund due to the circumstances. So I'd advise going to other nearby hotels as this one is horrible, to say the least. They will RIP you off. Oh, they'll come on here and give their little, "But, but excuses" but the bottom line is they are a very bad run hotel that could care less about it's customers.
***My response to the owner's response below:
You state: "You might consider reaching out to the hotel team directly for further assistance."
If you read my above post you will see that I stated:
So I spoke with the General Manager and he was extremely rude and told me "Tough luck buddy try and get a refund from Trip.com because we aren't giving you any money back".
I did reach out to the hotel team directly and that was their response.
Yes St Luke's canceling that late was a bad deal for my 87 year old mother and then to have the added stress of getting ripped off by the hotel (yes she got ripped off because she did NOT step foot into it let alone go into a room) is absolutely horrible.
That GM should be put on unpaid leave for a week.

Good place to stay if going to the Plaza area for activities. Parking is expensive and crowded. Rooms are basic.

I had a mixed stay. On one hand, the hotel was great. It's quiet, has clean rooms and a lovely bar. On the other hand, my car was one of two that night to be broken into in their garage. Marriott comped our stay but obviously was not going to take any fault, as expected. I would love to recommend this hotel, just don't bring your car.

BEWARE: HOTEL IS NOT SAFE
My family and I rented a room here because we were in town for a concert. Rooms were fine, a bit dated but nothing crazy. As we came home we were stopped by security and warned that my car was too valuable to park in their lot because they have a lot of thefts and that he would advise parking out front which isn’t possible because my car is a sports car and can’t make it in and out of the entrance without causing damage to my car because it’s so steep. I obviously didn’t feel safe and felt like the only option I had was to stay with my car overnight but thought maybe I could talk to the front desk and see if this was just an employee that needed a bit more training. When I went to the front desk the response was “ya you roll the dice parking outside…” and followed up with “we take no responsibility for anything that happens…” so now here it is 3 AM, my family is upstairs upset, I’m sitting with my car and apparently need to stay here overnight so we have a vehicle in the morning. Would definitely recommend looking elsewhere unless you aren’t worried about the apparent high volume of theft.
Safety: Hotel is not safe according to hotel security and front desk

I’ve stayed at this Courtyard 5 or 6 times over the last few years. The excellent location to Country Club Plaza and KCMO make it stand out. It’s an old historic building which has it’s charm. Staff have always been pleasant. But the rooms are extremely dated. Stains on the walls and carpets, toilets that don’t always flush, sinks that don’t always drain, and an elevator that is so loud when it dings on your floor that it wakes you up in the night.
But above all the other negatives, one stands out. Every time I stay in this hotel I make a point to ask for *daily* housekeeping service. I am told I will receive daily housekeeping service. But every time I stay I do not receive daily housekeeping service. It is unbelievable to me that a request so simple can repeatedly, without fail during every one of my stays, go unfulfilled. I always expressed my frustration to the front desk and they always apologize and say they will send a note to the housekeeping manager. Whatever the disconnect between the front desk and housekeeping needs to be addressed by the general manager. It is such a turn off, as a customer, to be failed repeatedly in this manor.
I cannot recommend this hotel .

Loved this hotel! We transferred from another hotel blocks away in the middle of the night. Carly was able to accommodate us quickly. She was very empathetic, knowledgeable and super nice! I loved that this is on the National Registrar of Historic Places. The rooms were nice, clean, and spacious! The parking garage was not my favorite but we found parking above the garage closer to the back of the hotel. I had an excellent experience here! There is also a beautiful magnolia grandiflora tree in front!
Rooms: Loved the spaciousness of the rooms! They were clean and I loved the carpet! The windows were sealed over the original windows in the building keeping the charm of this historical site. There are milk closets in the hallways as well.

Front desk was very helpful with modifying when our American Airlines flight was cancelled. Renovated building. Facility on National Registry of Historic Places. Close to restaurants and attractions.
Nearby activities: Crown Center, Legoland Discovery Place, GEHA Field, WW I memorial, Union Station

Historical buildings are not always the best hotels. This building is nice but don't expect the old construction to insulate against all the sounds indoor or out.

Rooms are a little dated but good service, cool building, great location. Went to Rye, just a short walk from the hotel and had a great dinner.

It's a historic building. The rooms are nice and the staff is great. Lots of shops and restaurants around it. I would stay here again. It's very comfortable and peaceful.

MAKE SURE YOU PAY FOR PARKING IN THE BACK GARAGE. THEY OFFER FREE PARKING ALONG THE SIDE OF THE ROAD IN FRONT BUT IT IS NOT SAFE. 9 VEHICLES GOT BROKEN INTO ONE NIGHT DURING OUR STAY. FRONT DESK DIDN'T SEEM TO CARE AND WERE LITTLE HELP. ROOMS ARE CLEAN BUT DATED SERVICE IS GOOD. BREAKFAST IS VERY GOOD.

‼️⚠️ WARNING! ⚠️ ‼️
If you are a female traveling alone, do NOT stay here. My company booked me here, guaranteed with a credit card. Tonight I came to check in and they oversold and choose me and my female coworker to boot our rooms. While standing in the lobby on the phone with Marriott customer service, not ONE BUT TWO men checked in to the last 2 available rooms even though we had been there for 20+ mins trying to understand what options we had. Neither this location, nor Marriott customer service were able to offer any support. The hotel they “walked us to” was 30 mins the opposite direction of where we needed to be. We would’ve been fighting downtown traffic on top of it all.
The front desk was absolutely no help and was so rude about the situation. Technically im a reward member silver elite but it truly means nothing. I spoke to 3 people in customer service, none could offer any assistance or support. Do better Marriott.
