Just wanted to share my great experience with Costco Optical at Linwood. The staff is super friendly, helpful, and patient, the glasses are top notch, and the service was incredibly efficient! I tried on so many frames I felt like a picture, and they were just so helpful, sharing options when asked and yet offering zero pressure for upgrades or anything else. Very affordable too. (Thanks, Zina!)

The ophthalmologist was nice but fit me incorrectly for my contact lenses. I trialed my exam at Costco thinking it would be easier and cheaper than ordering online. Costco requires you to come into the store to order and will not take the exam from the independent provider, literally in the same office. This is one of the few services that I would not recommend utilizing Costco for.

I have NEVER had an eye exam like Dr. Jing Ye. And I’ve always been the type that never actually wore her glasses because it would give me a headache when I would but it had been 10+ years and I knew it was time to get an exam. My husband and I went in to get the exams and WOW. We had never had such a comfortable, explanatory, and thorough exam like that. So much so that she gave my husband 2 prescriptions; 1 for driving and everyday and one for working (sports and on the field) and my husband even says that both are so distinct but so perfect for each activity. She’s truly amazing and knowledgeable and I CANNOT stop raving about her to everyone I know who wears glasses and May need an exam soon.

Very poor customer service. I stood for 20 minutes while the two employees refused to even acknowledge the growing line before calling for a third employee. Since they don’t bother to acknowledge customers, they have no idea who was even there first. Really? A simple “hello, we will be with you shortly” would suffice. You know, basic customer service. I tried to give them a second chance after the first time I gave them glasses, and got back “stripped” glasses from the lab. Somehow it was my fault the normal glasses I gave them came back broken from the lab. I will not be using Costco Optical again.

She really takes her time and answers all of the questions that you have and I really appreciate that. She is very knowledgeable and explains everything to you! It was a wonderful experience!! The lady at the front was also wonderful, very sweet and helpful!!

Terrible customer service. Attendant wasn’t able to acknowledge customers were in line. Understand there is sometimes a wait but it’s polite to acknowledge people are waiting. I swear by Costco when it comes to buying contacts but I would rather go pay more somewhere else or at least a different Costco.

I highly recommend Dr. Jing Ye if you are looking for an optometrist. Her explanations are clear and concise, and she takes great care to accommodate even though she is very busy. She has also taken rigorous precautions against COVID to ensure that her office is safe and efficient during this time.

I can't say enough good things about Dr. Ye. I went to a overpriced optometrist in Leawood and got an wonky prescription. I had seen Dr. Ye years before and I thought I would go back to her. She knew exactly what I needed and she told me what brand to get. The difference was huge. I will never stray again. Trust in the Ye!

???LET ME TELL YOU WHAT!!!???Y'all, I have spent YEARS seeing poorly because optometrists go off what THEY feel rather than what I need.My last good pair of glasses came to me in 2014. Everything's been a blur since.I decided to visit Dr. Ye because my amazing optometrist worked out of a Costco in Cali, and several people said they loved her. With that knowledge, I went in with high hopes, and SHE DIDN'T LET ME DOWN!!!!?I have poor vision with both near and far sighting. I've known this for years, even wore bifocals for 3 of them. Then one optometrist after another decided I am too young for bifocals so they took out the option despite my requests to keep it. I COULD SEE FINE, WHY TAKE IT AWAY?!Today, Dr. Ye returned it to me. She was so sweet and so patient and so understanding and took her time to insure I left with the proper prescription AND my bifocals.I am so happy I could cry!!!!!10/10 HIGHLY RECOMMEND DR. YE!!!!

5 Stars for Dr. Ye, 3 for the optical station.I have required vision correction since I was a toddler, but no eye disease, so I have had many many eye exams in my life. This was the first appointment that made me feel happy instead of exhausted! My 7 year old glasses were threatening to snap and I was out of contact lenses, so I had to go. I was pleasantly surprised by what followed.Dr. Ye is extremely professional and pleasant. She works efficiently and quickly determined what I needed. Even being so fast, she was able to ask questions about my lifestyle and made thoughtful recommendations regarding contact types and lens details for glasses that would work best for me. She explained expensive and affordable options for caring for my eyes, and was supportive when I explained I needed the cheap option. She also gave me a variety of samples. This in stark contrast to visits to the (well known, high end) MD eye doctor's offices that dilated me and left me blind for an hour, ultimately sucking hours of my life just sitting and waiting. I have recommended her to all of my friends. The optical department is a slightly different story. It was hard to know where to stand to get attention, I was not really "greeted" and didn't know when I was being addressed, and the clerk did not try to find out what I was looking for. I was permitted to access the frames after using hand sanitizer, which is great, and pointed to a column of frames that had the same measurements that were inside mine. It was weird trying them on over a mask, because I either couldn't see how they sat on my cheeks because I was holding my mask down with my hands, or I fogged up the lenses. Oh well, that's Covid! When I found some I liked, the clerk started ringing them up without sitting to advise me on lens types, or do the thing where they check where your pupils line up inside the lenses. It felt rushed and I wasn't positive she was getting all of my requests for my lenses. She also mistakenly miscounted how many contacts made a year supply and rang me up for twice the amount I needed. I noted it was VERY expensive and figure out the issue. Then, she was unable to clear the transaction to fix it, and she called for a manager multiple times. She was apologetic but also made it clear she blamed me, which was awkward. I tried not to stress her out and said I would come back another time for the contacts. I returned half an hour later after an expensive loop around the store, and she was still waiting for a manager to clear the register. She told me I could come back another day to order them, but it would take at least a week after that from them to come in. Womp womp.On my next visit, Shawn was very friendly and quickly found my new glasses and helped me check that they were alright. He also adjusted the frames so they wouldn't slide on my nose. He was able to immediately sell me the contacts I needed, which were in stock, and I was in and out within maybe 10 minutes. This is the Costco experience I am used to.I love that Costco sells affordable frames and lenses right next to the eye doctor, and the styles are cute. I wish every staff member who worked at the counter felt comfortable and confident in all of the tasks required of them. Perhaps a cheat sheet of steps to remedy frequent technology issues would be a relief to some staff. I also appreciate a little friendliness when I have to spend hundreds of dollars, but I don't think employees should be required to act cheerful when they don't feel it.So, the awkwardness, avoidable stress, possible accidental overcharge, and unnecessary delay makes me dock a couple stars, but they did get the job done and I would go back for glasses. The damage? $112 for eye exam, $150 for frames and lenses with free blue light filter, and about $100 per box (24 lenses, a year supply per eye) of Acuvue lenses.

This was single handedly the best eye doctor experience that I've ever had. The receptionist was exceptional. She was very friendly and did not require me to fill out pages and pages of paperwork even as a new patient. The optometrist was super nice and fast. She was willing to answer any and all questions and also provided me with a complimentary pair of my new contacts. I think I've found my forever eye doctor. I will definitely be back. Dr. Ye is such a blessing!!!!! I love her already.

Waited half an hour only to have another woman cut in front of me and then wait another 15 minutes to be told I don't have enough information for my contacts even though my optometrist called and said it would be fine. Worst Costco vision center I've gone to.

Not helpful when I called to check if I can buy contact lenses from the store and requested the person to check if the brand I usually use is in stock. I actually am traveling to KCMO for a week and just happened to leave all my contacts at home but I have the prescription with me. However the gentleman insisted I come to the store when I offered to provide the prescription information at least first over the phone. Why would I waste time and money to uber to the store if you can just tell me if I can get any contact supplies from you?!
