“Love, love, love this shop! So grateful my friend introduced me years ago. I have a closet full of dresses that I love! If you have ever had dressing-room-dread, this will be a healing place for you. Sometimes, all I need is to hear is a "ooooooo, gurl" or a queer squeal and clap for allllllll these curves to help me feel better. Retail therapy at its finest! A few of the dresses I have... lol... it doesn't help that my awesome hairdresser is next door!”
“I have been coming here since I was in high school. I recently got into records and have never really thought of this place as being a record store but now it's a must when thrifting vinyl. I came around a $10 Fleetwood Mac record and haven't snatched something up so fast before. I absolutely love how friendly the staff is and all the funky and beautiful art, clothing and gifts this place has. It's a one stop shop on a Saturday for me.”

“I have shopped at Harold Pener for years. One of the only places that someone can tell your waist size and inseam just by looking at you. And they are correct. Store even smells like good clothes. Love it.”

“MADI is a high-quality shop with a heart-driven mission and one of my favorite spaces to spend time in Kansas City, when I used to live there. The owner welcomed me in by letting me know the shop is based on the premise of making a difference. Everything the store was based on was a manifestation for me to have found: organic clothing, pure plant dyes, devotion to proper pay for people. MADI is a gem, and I shop their online store now since I live in Florida. Their purpose deserves above-and-beyond gratitude. I have two pairs of their silk shorts! This shop is the best!”

As traumatizing as jean shopping can be, Mel makes it so easy! She listens to what you like and don’t like about the fit and can pull a stack of denim that you will absolutely love!! Not to mention helping you curate accessories and pieces from there. She’s a true lifesaver!!

“The location is good and the staff is nice. The store was clean and well organized. I’ve gone to many Citi-Trends and this store is in the middle of the road when it comes to the quality of the selection. If you’re in the area, I still recommend checking out this spot. If it’s more than a 10 min drive from your location, I wouldn’t bother”

“I have always been a big fan of ON. This was particularly busy being black Friday evening but there was staff in there cleaning up, folding and ringing out customers as fast as possible.Yes it was a mess, but thw good definitely outweighed the bad!”

“I was visiting KC & wanted some shirts for my nieces & nephew. Was shopping at City Market & went into this store. Danielle was really great. Told me everything I needed to know. Shirts had cool designs & were 100% made by local artists. I bought 4 shirts. A little pricey but there's a b2go deal. Also be aware that there's an extra downtown sales tax. I'd shop there again.”
“Found some shorts that fit me very well but I was literally sweating bullets in the fitting rooms. I thought it was because i was coming from walking in the heat. I was so flustered and overwhelmed by the heat that I didn’t even finish trying on the clothes i had. When I got to the front the employees were offering water bottles and they had fans going, that’s when I realized the AC was out. I was amazed by the employees unwavered and positive attitudes. The two guys at the register were incredibly kind and apologetic. As I was leaving I heard them mention this was the 3rd summer in a row this has happened.
No customer wants to shop or try on clothes in the heat. The employees should not have to work like that either but they did so with a smile on their face. They are the only reason I’m not leaving a 1 star review”

“I popped in to visit IMKC while out mall walking over the Christmas season. I rarely drive into the city to walk, so I didn’t know this store was there. Very nice with some fun and interesting items for sale. I am thrilled to see other Kansas City locations than usual displayed here. I bought gifts for my son and his wife as well as myself. The quality of the items is quite good, and there’s a nice selection readily available. The prices are in line with similar merchandise in the KC area. The men who assisted me were very engaging and friendly. I give IMKC two very enthusiastic thumbs up!?????”
“First time visiting this particular location. They do a great job at organizing the vast amount of merchandise in a store with a smaller footprint than other spots (particularly up North where we're blessed with bigger stores.) Lots of Chiefs items, which is especially nice since many of the hotels are close to this spot, so out of towners can pop in quickly. I personally loved the Travis Kelce/Taylor Swift items as they captured the buzz in our city at the time of this posting.”

“Last week I ordered a cute Salaam flippy skirt from Shopgirls. It turned out I needed a smaller size and called Katie to see what other colors she had and I explained that I had to watch hem length so the Velcro in my AFO brace doesn’t tear my clothes.
Instead of just exchanging my skirt Katie asked me to drop by the store before regular hours. When I arrived, she had skirt and dress options hanging all around the dressing rooms for me to try. I was like a kid in a candy store.
Katie knew that I was trying to make peace with my new foot accessory and rather than dwell on that she brought the focus to
the lovely colors of the cute swirly skirts and I was able to find several options that would work. One of the pieces was a dress that was very easy to put on, and I called Katie to see if she had more of those. This time rather than having me come into the store, she delivered the dress to my house.
Shopgirls isn’t just a storefront at 62nd and Oak filled with clothes, and purses and accessories. Shopgirls is a home to all of us who are welcomed at the door and who are buoyed by acceptance and sisterly inclusion as we touch and feel the lovely frocks, shoes and jewelry around us. Shopgirls sends us out the door with our ribbon tied bags of goodies and a renewed confidence. None of us leaves there without having felt the most prized item in the store, the sincere kindness of Katie and her Shopgirls.”
“So with the holiday craze & throw a episode of Vertigo that I had in there ? too , my online pick up order was divided into two for some odd reason & my daughter picked up half for me while sick ?. JADE at the legends HT called me to figure out what's was going on with my order, thank god she did cause I had no idea some of it was not filled, well 1 item said it was unavailable & they was super concerned & determined to get my melody journal for my girl. Jade told me.zona had 4 , so I called to hold it & well the Legemds manager was there & she is going to bring it to legends to save me the trip & satisfy my order!! They are soo awesome & kind!!”
