Super cute farmers market that had produce, hand made goods such as earrings, and little shops. We liked the Italian one a lot, we got a super good cannoli from it. This is a really fun little place to walk through even if you're not looking to buy anything!

I suspect that "City Market" is really a staple for local residents. I am told that they operate a farmers' market on site regularly. As a tourist, I explored City Market because I was also visiting the "Arabia Steamboat Museum". This aside, there's a nice eclectic assortment of shops on site. There are some good restaurants, too. I ate at one of them.BTW .. free 2-hour parking is available. They enforce actively. I suspect that the parking lot uses a license plate reader to keep tabs on vehicles entering and exiting the parking lot, and that is how they keep track of how long you have been in the parking lot.

This is an amazing little city market. They have a full farmers market on the weekends and the permanent shops are available daily. There are a couple stores with self serve spice blends that allows you to taste them prior to purchasing. I would return just for them every time I visit.

City market is always such a wonderful place to be. Need fresh herbs, produce, spices? They got it. Need a good restaurant for lunch or dinner? They got that too. Have money burning a hole in your pocket? Great place to alleviate that ailment. Need a relaxing break midday on the weekdays? Come and people watch. All in all one of the best places in KC!

5/5 I love me a great farmers market! This one is one of the best I've visited stateside. What's to love: It's huge! Plan to visit for a couple of hours so you get to immerse yourself in the full experience. It's organized well. Foods items are located together. If you're looking for flowers they are located together. It's the same for jewelry, clothing, accessories. There are a bundle of small, permanent shops & restaurants that are not to be missed. There is a garden shop that is incredible. The meat shop is reminded me of the old Italian meat shops of my childhood. The coffee shop roasts their own coffee and has freshly pressed juices. We visited a morning in September and our only regret is having eaten just before coming. Next time I'm going to come here hungry. There's so many good food options. It's great people watching. There are great deals on every day items. This market was one of my favorite KC adventures. I can't wait to return. September 2023

We were staying downtown and decided to catch the KC street car down to City Market. It was about 9am but the area was already busy with the farmer's market. Really diverse selection of vendors offering everything from jewelery to flowers to spices to tons of fresh fruit and vegetables. There was also a sidewalk art thing going on, which was amazing. Grabbed a latte and a bite to eat at the River Market Opera House. Great way to spend a morning.

When in KC, do not miss the Saturday City Market. While vendors are open other days, nothing compares to the hustle and bustle of a Saturday morning, Parking has gotten to be a pain in that area, so I highly suggest parking downtown or midtown and riding the streetcar, which stops right at the City Market, or find the free parking in the parking lot across the highway at roughly 6th & Main Street. We love walking up and down the aisles of vendors and then going back to make purchases. Lots of great food, produce, food and other items -- something new every time. Also just up the street from the Market, do not miss Planter's Seed & Spice - it's a KC icon with rustic, squeaky floors and tons of spices, teas and lawn & garden items. I also recommend brunch at Enzo Wine Bar on the south size of the Market. It has a great patio, friendly service and probably the best egg's benedict I have ever eaten!

It's a fun trip that offers a ton of options. Bright colors and fresh air makes you want to just wind your way through everything. You can get fresh fruit & veggies for around what you pay at the grocery store, but better quality. It's hard to find free parking so expect to spend about $15 for 3 hours.

What a fabulous, bustling market! It was our first time visiting KC and our friends took us here on a Saturday morning. We had three kids in tow, but this whole space is definitely family-friendly. The lively atmosphere is really enjoyable! If I lived locally, I'd no doubt come here for fresh produce, flowers, jams, sauces, meats, and more. There's nothing like locally sourced goods. You'll find tons of these available inside the open-aired greenhouse-like structures that are the focal point of the market. Surrounding them are dozens of other vendors and speciality shops. We started our morning with coffees and pastries, and by the time lunch rolled around we had a tough time choosing from all of the wonderful small businesses on-site. Craving Brazilian food? They've got it. Maybe Indian or BBQ? You're covered. Sammies, salads, and bowls? Yep! It's great because everyone can get what they're interested and then meet back up to enjoy. I can see why City Market is a KC staple. I'd certainly enjoy a return when I'm next in town.

A fun and relaxing area to enjoy anytime. You can get the best produce, great local vendors with a variety of products, and dining options are off the proverbial chain, money! It does get busy, and parking can be a tremendous B. But it is a place to enjoy that is full on frontal Kansas City!

Very first time being down there. Went with my girlfriend and we had a great time. She has been there before, but for my first down there makes me want to be a regular customer because the smells of food was so fragrant and enticing! The colors of the food and plants was very beautiful to me and it opened up new experiences to try something else than my regular norm. I personally am glad that a place like this exists and for the affordable pricing which you can't get in stores. City Market you'll be having my presence coming back real soon!

Very diverse market with tons of variety, including restaurants, entertainment, drinks, fresh produce, ice cream and much more. We are the Pigwich which had great BBQ sandwiches and burgers. The produce market had some great bargains including $1 vegetable bowls which included like 3-4 red peppers as an option. We came on a Monday when a lot of the places were closed. I’d say less than 20% were open on a Monday, maybe check it out mid-week or the weekend for the most variety.

It's our stomping grounds. Most of our spare time is spent shopping, eating or walking around the area. Always good for something new or just familiar favorites. Wide range of shops and cuisine. Best coffee is Opera House. Great pizza at Minsky's. Ethiopian food at Blue Nile is heavenly. Brown & Loe has a great twist on favorites. City Diner never disappoints. So many options, with or without the farmer's market & events. Also it's on the streetcar line.

Every business we went to welcomed is and were very helpful. Level 1 was great. We were greeted and helped. My grandson spent his own money to buy a couple of things. The Candy Wizard is a fun place to go. It was hard to decide what to get but finally my grandson decided. A Taste of Brazil has the best food I've ever eaten. There were other stores but I don't remember their names. They were gift shops and clothing.
