I opened an account here many years ago because of the hours they offered but now they are only open 10am-5pm during the week when everyone works and are no longer opening on weekends at all. I'm about done.

The review is not a reflection of the staff or customer service I experienced at this location. My grievance isn't with the employees, who in fairness always did their best to help me with the terrible time I had. The bank as a business is horrible. I had money held from me. Accounts frozen. You name it. This bank made me late on rent bills etc. The app is out of date and frustrating to use. The only thing about the app I liked was the remote deposit option for checks. I recently switched last year and my experience with my new bank is a breeze and way less stressful. I now have a plethora of tools to manage my money. Tools that Academy never was able to provide. The only reason I've left two stars is because of the friendly employees at the location. I recommend a different bank.

I was really on the border line of cancelling all my accounts with this bank. If it wasn’t for the store manger inside of Walmart on Barry Rd by the name of Momodou, and his exceptional customer service and care for the needs that I had on top of helping me get into a better checking account that will help me receive perks and more incentives for every dollar that I spend gave me a different mindset of the company and change my mind. Thank you and Kudos to Momodou for making me a very happy Customer!

Hey you guys I just wanna say that academy Bank in kc off of Barry road is awesome so I wemt to harrisonville academy bank an the teller Margaret was just not doin her job at all I had to drive all the way to Barry road to get help if u have to go to academy bank go to the one off Barry road not harrisonville they will turn u away without even trying to help you go Barry road

Momodou was my personal banker today, he was absolutely amazing! He helped me reopen an account after having to close my account for almost a year. There was a few issues ( nothing that dealt with him) but he made sure to have them all dealt with before I left, so everything went well and I walked out with a smile!

Good place, but closes my credit card with zero explanation, afterwards is only open on weekdays which I cant go usually during the weekdays and is only available in very certain spots in Kansas city areas overall just super inconvenient compared to many other brands or banks

I unfortunately had a student account here for 3 years it was the worst bank I have ever dealt with. They have removed more then 280 in superfluous fees. I had to closely monitor my account to figure out were my money went. Once I figured out where my money was going I called the branch and demanded they give my money back they refunded me $63 and says that that's all that they could give me. I had to threaten legal action to get my money back once I did I quickly closed my account.
