Beware! They will sell you Glocks at full value.. but then a month later will try to tell you they are not worth half of what you paid literally 4 weeks before. Oh and will charge you a 9%fee on your credit card and then try to say it is your bank charging that... guess what morons.. we can call our bank and see that isn't true.

Good place to buy guns and ammo but they'll rip you off if you try to sell them gold or silver! They'll give you half of spot if you're lucky and then they drive down the road and sell it for double of what they paid. Just don't like seeing people be done this way! Instead of going here drive to Gold and Silver of Joplin Missouri on Rangeline and they will do you right! It's exactly where these jokers will take it!

People are nice and direct. I bought a couple things from there, and I don't think anyone would be disappointed about buying anything from there.

The only positive aspect of this store is the large selection of firearms. Everything else is displeasing.

The selection is good on long guns but they are often higher than other gun shops. The ammo is always lean and overpriced. I come in a few times a year hoping to make a purchase but even if they have what I want at a price I feel is fair they often lose the sale because the staff is kind of rude unless you're a local buddy and often treat you like you're interrupting their coffee break. It is common to see them sitting around, half working while carrying on long personal conversations with their friends who seem to hang out in the store. Ask for assistance and they will do the bare minimum to help you out. Of the dozen times I have come in I have always struggled to get anyone to assist me and when I ask they treat me with contempt, giving one-syllable answers and acting like they can't wait for me to leave. So I did leave and made a purchase somewhere else. I was in the store for 40 minutes this last time and no one approached me or asked if I needed anything. Some people like that and I was ok with the inattention too. It should have been clear I was comparing a couple of rifles and I kept looking around for help to make a sale but no one bothered to approach me. They should have been in tune enough to see I was looking at details enough that I had a real interest. When I went to the counter (once again I had to stand there awhile as the guy working was chatting up some guy who had been standing there talking since I came in and not about guns). Once I got a chance to ask for some service it was clear I was an interloper and not really welcome. I had a few questions to focus on my intended purchase but could not get complete sentences out of the guy who one minute early could not stop talking with his buddy. I don't know if this was Steve or if there is a Steve but this place could really use some customer service training. I ended up leaving, driving down Main St, to another gun shop, and making a purchase from them. They did bother to answer my questions, demonstrated the features of the product, and then up-sold me on a better rifle that costs more than I had intended to spend because they took the time to explain the features and benefits of the better option. Once again Steve lost another sale to me and any follow-up sales as I start accessorizing this rifle. As others have said in their reviews, the store has a great selection and lots of hard-to-find add-ons. But poor customer service.

I can tell you I have frequented quite a few. Gun Shops. These guys not only know their guns, but will go out of their way to make sure when your leaving your equipment is in great shape. So many hunting and gun accidents come from lack of knowledge, or poor upkeep. Being a very busy guy myself I’m not the best at gun maintenance. Also I recently could not find any 209 primers for my black powder CVA riffle it was barely 2 years old. I bought it brand new and only shot it a few times 1 day. However when I brought my riffle to Steve’s trading post, not only did he get me the primers no one else had. He cleaned my barrel checked my threads made sure I had the proper amount of grease and I’m not sure what it’s called but he also cleaned out a piece that would have stopped the gun from firing as the hole where the spark would travel was clogged, after he did this, he then found other issues with my riffles scope as the bracket holding scope in place was busted and I had already taken it to joplin center fire range where they had previously bore-sighted it and did not notice or was not able to fix it. Which they are 100% great as well, awesome place, but Toby at Steve’s trading post caught so much more issues, so after all this special treatment I was able to have a successful deer hunt and dropped a buck at 150 yards. Thank you Toby and Steve’s trading post for taking such great care of me and my guns so I can enjoy my time in the woods with a successful deer hunt. Highly Recommend
