The store was relaxing, clean, and had an excellent book selection. Daily/Monthly planners were great but pricey. I went to make a purchase but when asked if I wanted the BAM card I asked if it was like a rewards card and the lady said "Yes" so my purchase of sixty something went to 79.00 after tax. I raised an eyebrow and looked to see why. The so called "rewards" was really the BAM membership and COST $25.00 for something that doesnt even give you points per purchase. ? That is NOT a rewards program, that is a membership and anytime your customer will need to pay for something like that you NEED to tell that customer prior to finalizing the sale. The $25 will be returned but not immediately because that have to put a ticket in for that. I am annoyed today by my experience at the register. Other than that I will be fine, and I will return. Just be more transparent next time.

The staff are pleasant and helpful, and the store is kept clean and tidy. However, it’s soul-crushing to witness the rapidly shrinking horror section every time I visit. In the same vein, the “horror” section might just need to be renamed the “Stephen King” section.

I hate to admit that it’s been several years since I’ve visited a bookstore, an unfortunate sign of the times. There’s something about it, nostalgic but not dated that I really enjoyed recently.
I decided on a whim to stop in, quickly reminded of what makes places like this special. I was greeted by a sea of literature, beautifully organized and with every interest imaginable on display. This was an unexpected experience and one I’ve since repeated.
I was pleasantly impressed by the selection of coffee in their ‘Joe Muggs’ shop inside the store. Walking to the counter I discovered that they have a line of Harry Potter inspired coffee options that are excellent!
As a diehard fan of the franchise, one that visits the parks one to two times a year, the butterbeer coffee made my day! I highly recommend the iced version, but the frozen wasn’t bad either. If you are a fan like me, sipping your beverage while browsing the shelves is a fantastic experience.

One of my books rang up wrong. Asked for the purchase to be corrected. Young man called some lady for help and I waited. After 20 minutes, I asked if she was on a lunch break, he said, no. My husband and I even ordered coffee drinks from Joe Mug while we waited. After getting our drink order and still no response from person, I told young man that to forget it. I wasn't worth waiting any longer for $3.00 refund but that she could have at least called to the check up to acknowledge that she was aware of the situation. I give the book selection and coffee shop 5 stars ?. The young man was very sorry but it wasn't his fault. I feel very sorry for him and think his customer service was great but the on duty Mgr. needs more training. It was the Joplin store on Rangeline and was on 4/20/24.
