My stay at the Capital Plaza was pleasant. Laurie at the front desk was very helpful and so friendly! She greeted me with a warm hello and smile. She helped me with all that I needed. The rooms were clean and homely. Will recommend a stay if ever in town.

We stayed the night here as we were attending an event at the Capitol building.First, the staff was amazing! They were incredibly helpful. We reserved a room with a king-size bed. We were put in a room designed for special needs. We explained this and were quickly moved to the correct room. Now, this room was only half ready for us. The bed was made, and the blankets were the wrong way. The bathroom still had used towels lying around. We explained this to the front desk, and they were incredibly apologetic and got us new towels and toiletries. It was an odd experience that we have never had before.

Absolutely excellent service by the staff -- and I do not say that lightly...! From check in with Jazmine to check out with Sierra, all of the front desk clerks went above and beyond to help with various problems I was dealing with for a conference. All staff was cordial and accommodating and really helped to make this a great experience for me and my students! Thank you!!!

My daughter’s college softball team stayed here and she left her headphones beside the bed. I called and asked if any had been turned in. The lady I spoke with said she didn’t know if the room had even been cleaned yet and that she would check and call me back. I never got a return call. I called again the next evening and talked to another lady that said she was there that night and the next morning, and she would check with house keeping when they came in the next morning between 8-9 am and she would call me by noon. I have still not heard back from anyone. I did not expect them to find them as I am sure someone in housekeeping took them, however when someone says they will call me back, I expect a call back. It’s just courteous and good customer service. I will alway base a review on customer service and your staff failed.

One of the worst hotels I've ever booked. Among numerous other issues, they also don't have housekeeping. We booked a 3 night stay and were told they don't clean or enter the rooms until checkout. This is absolutely unacceptable.Furthermore, on the second night of our stay there was a loud event booked in one of the conference rooms. We had to endure loud music pounding through the walls. The pathetic front desk said they couldn't do anything about it and told me there was nothing they could do about it.Avoid this place at all costs. It's cheap for a reason.Rooms: Dated, musty, plumbing issues, noisy

The staff was kind, but unapologetic regarding any of the concerns that I had. The hotel is incredibly run down and unsanitary. And, yes that is a urine stain on the bed spread. Although the location is convenient, there are much nicer accommodations directly across from them.

Walkable to Capitol. Sparkling bathroom, very clean room. Extra comforter right away when requested. Would give 5 stars for desk lamp, better bed, and refrigerator. But first requirements, clean & quiet, all good. Desk reception was EXCELLENT, but understaffed at check in. Laurie delivered professional, friendly service under pressure.Walkability: Amtrak station, Capitol & other sites of interest, plenty of evening food places.

It was one of the worst hotels I've stayed at. I showed up at 2 p.m. and was told i had to wait until 4 p.m. only to see them check someone else in because they booked through a group. I wasn't able to get my room until after 9 p.m. and received no apology for having to wait. The room was super hot and was told the ac isn't working right now because it's February and cold outside. Luckily, I was able to open the window to help cool it down until everything started smelling like sewage. So now it's either the heat or the smell. I chose to deal with the smell because it was like a sauna in there. The next morning, I tried to take a shower only to find the water was Luke warm at best. I will never stay here again and absolutely do not recommend this hotel.

We held our Hollywood Nights big big band show at Capital Plaza and were very pleased. The staff was “on it” and made sure what we wanted, happened, and if there was a last minute change needed, they rolled with it and made it happen.Food was excellent.Overall, they really worked hard to make sure our event was exceptional. As a result we’ve committed to a two year contract for our 2025/2026 Hollywood Night show.A number of our guest stayed at the hotel that night after the show, but I personally didn’t see the rooms so I didn’t rate them. There was a time when Cap Plaza was kind of lackadaisical in their level of service. I can tell you without a doubt they’ve upped their game and are again bringing a high level of service/product and professionalism to what they do.I’m proud of our show and of our association with Capital Plaza’s staff. They helped make it a 5-star event.

From the moment we arrived to the moment we left, we were treated like royalty at our luxurious hotel. Every aspect of our stay was simply amazing, from the Linda at the bar to the delicious breakfast. Hanna and Courtney definitely made our stay unforgettable with their exceptional service and warm hellos always with our proper names.

Pros: Plenty of hangers! Didn't count but eyeballed around 10 when other hotels usually have maybe 4. We didn't get bit by bed bugs! Cons: Incidentals charge of $35.00 added to bill, and only $25 of it will be refunded if no damage. Staff at front said some is kept because they have a bar & restaurant (which didn't even serve meals besides breakfast), pool and parking! Temperature control in the room does not work so we slept in what felt like a sauna (outside was in the 50's). Towels are very thin and small, and only 2 in the room for a booking with 3 people, which happens to use often. WiFi would not connect to my MacBook, only my mobile phone. Some of the outlets on the walls & office table were so old that they couldn't hold our plugs. Restroom at the back of Breakfast area was very gross and had no hand soap. Son went to the one by the conference/ party rooms and found a tiny bit of soap there. Seems no staff to check them; understaffed breakfast review below. No complementary Breakfast buffet like all other hotels we have stayed in, but we got our breakfast entrees included through booking.com; however staff at check in first tried to say no breakfast included. After she double checked she gave us tickets/ vouchers. In the breakfast area, which is pretty big, there is only 1 server, and I know the lady was doing her absolute best but it took 30 min after sitting down, getting drinks & utensils, to get the actual food: eggs, toast, potatoes, sausage or bacon, orange or cranberry juice. Buffet was not on, yet the "menu" we were given had buffet listed as an option. We had to get to the Capitol at a certain time so we had to gulp down our food. We will never book here again.

I stay here atleast once a month if not more.. Ive never had a issue that wasn't resolved immediately by the hotel staff. Laurie is always amazing when she's at the front desk!! I had an issue with booking through priceline and most times priceline has to fix the issue but Laurie saved me that headache!! Thank you so much!!Rooms: Rooms are nice and CLEAN!! I've never had to many issues, once my heater wasn't working and they fixed it immediately..Nearby activities: It's so close to the capital, restaurants, fast food everything is close.. Starbucks in walking distance.. they do host alot of events which can get loud and busy down stairs but nothing thays kept me up at night.Safety: Elevator has plenty of room, railings are high, the pool is nice as well!!Food & drinks: You have to pay for breakfast but it is delicious.. I havent tried dinner, the lobby has snacks, drinks, and quick small dinners (cup of noodles ect.) You can buy.

Don't stay at Capitol Plaza Hotel! The rude front desk lady had us swipe our credit card multiple times saying it was declined each time, which was false because we ended up getting multiple charges on our credit card. We also had to pay $35.00 for incidentals but she said we would only be charged for incidentals like stolen towels, and the pool and parking lot fee which is stupid because we weren't there to use the pool and paying for the hotel should have included parking on there uncovered and supervised parking lot. We had to change rooms multiple times because no smoke detectors worked in any of those rooms. That's when we decided to not stay there and get a refund. The front desk clerk went and supposedly talked to her manager where she said the manager said we could get a refund. We never got our refund, and in fact, had more charges added to our credit card out of spite from her rude ass. She charged us for each room we seen, 3 in all, even though we never stayed there at all. We left multiple messages for the manager to call us but never got a call from them. The hotel is run down also, with broken fixtures and mold in areas. I was worried about bed bugs here with the condition the hotel was in. This is a thieving hotel, so check your credit card statements if you stay here. They will sneak charges on! Since the hotel never fixed their stolen charges on our credit card, we had to dispute them with our credit card company, and surprisingly through, the credit card company we got a refund back quickly from them. It was clearly a fraud case with the hotel. I would not recommend this hotel!
