Thrifting roots run deep in all of our souls. Intertwined in our subconscious, the hunt for a good deal keeps the human instinct prowling in search of the satisfaction of getting “what you want/looking for”.This establishment has what you are looking for. Beyond the items for sale .. is where you find Melissa and John, a power team! Two people that honestly have the best intentions, and it reflects in their mannerisms when interacting with the public. Come check it out…. Donate, purchase and spread the word …… keep small businesses alive.

This is the absolute best thrift store in independence, hands-down. The story behind why it even exists, and what the owner is trying to accomplish with the proceeds, has brought me to tears… multiple times. I highly suggest if you have some free time and a few extra bucks to check it out.Not only is everything extremely reasonably priced (unlike red racks who tried to charge me $14 for a t shirt), but they have an amazing selection- I didn’t wanna leave, & I would have bought out the whole store if I could have afforded to do so. I haven’t had the pleasure of meeting any of the employees yet, but the owner is such a kind hearted guy. He is an absolute peach. He is extremely thoughtful, exceptionally reasonable when it comes to pricing, and most importantly, he is running the store for such a good cause… There isn’t enough words or space on this site to express how awesome the owner of the shop and the shop itself truly is. Please go check it out!

Decided to stop here from reading all of the positive reviews. Glad it was open after the drive getting there. Can't give it the 5 stars others have unfortunately. It's very small and packed, very packed. Most I saw, was not worth the time. But again, depends on what a person is looking for.Did not receive any type of acknowledgement when walking in, even though you walk right past the person working. He was busy talking to a female customer who had no issues staring...gave a weird feeling for sure. So drive time to get here, 45+ minutes... time to look around....5 minutes. ?

I’m training in Independence for a job and wanted to check out thrift stores. I found Lose Some Gain Some on maps and decided to check it out. Unfortunately, the closing time on maps was incorrect and I arrived as soon as she was locking the door. The owner still let me come in and shop and within 5 minutes I had handfuls of great deals. She even took the time to secure my items in a box even though I kept her plenty pass the closing time. Very thankful for customer service like this and I will be returning lots to her thrift store!

What a great find! After visiting family in Independence, I couldn’t pass up this cute thrift store on my way out! Prices are more than fair and I was able to find a designer bag set for $10!! $10!!!!! I found clothes and a Kate Spade AirPod case! I hope I am able to visit again soon and stop by my new favorite thrift shop in Missouri!

Tried to come to this location twice now. Once yesterday and right this second as I’m typing this review. I just wanted to check out the store but for some reason there’s always a note on the door stating the person would be back at a certain time. I guess they are not wanting customers? What’s the point on having a operating hours if the door is locked and no one can come in??? The stores name is a little bit off it’s just definitely be “ lose some” with out the gain. Nothing to gain from this store at all except for wasted time.
