My husband and I experienced a breech of privacy at this clinic, followed by negligence on behalf of our adult dog Nala.I am solely responsible for our Coonhound puppies (not him), so I decided to open a new customer account when I took a 10-week old puppy in for Puppy Strangles.I registered under my maiden name, a separate home address than him, and a new email. Being from the city, I had never met any of the staff and therefore had no reason to assume anyone knew who I was. If they had been natural about knowing who I was rather than creepy and intrusive, I would find what they did acceptable. The appointment went well with the brunette vet and the brunette tech assistant until the two women went behind closed doors to retrieve the antibiotics and steroids. When they returned they stated, “So Puppy Strangles is genetic, and this puppy has had a mother that came in with Strangles a year ago” and then demanded, “so you shouldn’t allow that dog to have anymore babies.”I immediately knew they were referring to my husband’s adult dog Nala, who frequently visits for ongoing ear problems under his customer account. I corrected them stating that Nala was actually not the puppy’s mother, but our other dog Jewel was (and Jewel had never been to the vet nor had she ever had Strangles). In fact, it was the puppy’s uncle Rowdy that came in with Puppy Strangles. The vet was taken by surprise, saying she didn’t know it was possible for a dog to get Strangles if their mother didn’t have it.You’d think that if a professional was going to invade my privacy and advise a form of eugenics (saying a dog with a very treatable immune problem shouldn’t procreate), that she’d at least have a basic understanding of genetics taught in high school Biology class. Genes can skip many generations and occur at random. Then I addressed the bigger elephant in the room, and affirmed that in fact, the owner of Nala, was my husband. There was no possibility that the vet and assistant could’ve known this except for looking through my pictures on social media. Being from a small town is not an excuse for this behavior. Privacy laws apply to vet medical information.Furthermore, my husband and I agreed that Nala’s ears were not getting better. I took her to the Animal Hospital in the city, where Nala’s new Vet was very surprised that the medication prescribed to Nala by the Hermann Vet did not include anti-fungal ingredients for a very serious Yeast infection. My husband confirmed that the Hermann Vet vocally avoided prescribing anti-fungal medication for her. This negligence caused our dog a lot of unnecessary distress for months. I hope this review is an embarrassment for the clinic.

I have a female named Nala that has ear problems.I've taken her to Hermann Vet clinic at least 6 times or more for the same problem. They just take your wallet and care less about finding a cure or figuring out the problem. My wife took Nala to Hermann Vet clinic on 2/6/24.Within 15 minutes of being back home. Nala sat down next to me and started digging in her ears. Shows me, they don't care on how well of a job they do. As long as they get paid.Weeks before that,My wife took in a puppy with strangles. The vet tech and vet assume things and act like they know my breeding program. Telling my wife I need to quit breeding a certain dog. When that wasnt even the case. Shows me, There more worried about giving my wife there false opinions and accusations rather then asking the right questions for what is actually the truth.Don't waste your time or money here.

We picked this vet based on the reviews....not disappointed! The staff was excellent and really took care of our dogs. They found out what was going on with our chunky lab (138lbs) and got him started on meds. Thank you! Vixen and Elliott appreciate it too.

Had a great experience with Vinny's appt. I had an early appointment so I didn't wait except maybe 1 min. The tech was nice and very knowledgable and was great with Vinny. Dr. Chole was Awesome and they both worked together well and answered all of my questions. I never felt rushed and was given contact information incase I needed to call a doc after hours in case Vinny had a reaction to his vaccines. Everyone is so nice and caring. Which is just some of the many reasons that we switched from our old vet to Herman. It is worth the drive to get the care and compassion that we want for our fur babies. Thank you. Annette Belmore

Hi! The people at Hermann Veterinarian are all really great with my pets! On a recent Saturday at 10:30am, my sister's dog was needing emergency care. She has been staying with sister's ex, and he wasn't taking care of her. She hadn't been eating for a while, and could barely walk. My sister called her (at the time) vet. They usually close at 12:00 on Saturdays, and refused to see the dog, saying, "it's the vets day off! She doesn't want to come in." This was also my vet at the time. My sister called Hermann Vet, and they said bring her on in! Harlee had lost 10 pounds, and was having painful arthritis. They gave her an antibiotic and pain shot, prescribed some doggie Ibuprofen, and my sister brought her to me. Within just a few hours to a day, Harlee was putting the weight back on, and running around happy and wagging her tail again! Back to her normal happy self. I recently moved to Hermann, and Harlee is mine now. I have two cats, and one of them had an eye injury (scratch) on his cornea. We took him in, and they were wonderful with him, too. So, because we moved here, and the way our previous vet was refusing to see Harlee in an emergency, we changed to Hermann. I think they are great!

Friday started a whirlwind for us. Oliver went into kidney failure after he was perfectly fine on Thursday. Luckily, we had a mobile vet appointment for Pete the cat due to another issue already scheduled for Friday afternoon. We cannot thank Hermann Veterinary Clinic and Hometown Mobile Veterinary Clinic enough for being able to save our little guy. We went from not knowing if he would survive the night on Friday evening to bringing him home this evening. He’s still on the mend and will receive under the skin fluids for a few days at home and will likely be on a kidney diet the rest of his life. Prayers for continued recovery for Oliver are greatly appreciated. While we don’t know the cause of this event, we hope we can keep this from ever happening again and help him live his best life.Dr. Dan, Dr. Katy, and Carly - We can never thank you enough for the exceptional care that helped Oliver pull through.

Minnie went in to get spayed, chipped and a dew claw removed. She stayed a few days to recuperate and we are very happy with her care and treatment.

I’ve gone here twice for emergencies with my goats. Both experiences had the best outcome they possibly could have. The vets are so helpful and knowledgeable and prices are fair!
