Very well done local made pottery. Large variety of local artists representing different styles and products. It's on the expensive side for pottery think $24+ for a mug but that's not unexpected for a high quality handmade piece. They do a have a beautiful friendly store cat just as a heads up if you have allergies.

Love Ayers Pottery - the shop AND the pottery. We go out of our way when visiting family in Missouri to stop at Ayers. Best kind of “souvenir.” Beautiful art, and items are so practical! I always buy something. Over the years they have carried earrings made with a pottery process. I love those too!

Fun local potters shop with a beautiful selection both of the potter’s work and also several others. Something for everyone and friendly people too!

Absolutely beautiful pottery. Gave a pie plate as a gift to my mom who has several pieces of pottery from different places. She used this one 3 times and it cracked when cooling. This pottery is too expensive for it to only be used three times before breaking.

Exterior sign on front door says no dogs allowed, because of cat's prejudice. (Doesn't ban other cats, however.) Ayers doesn't use lead in glaze. Handmade pottery for sale includes items by other potters. Distaff member purchased a bread pot and a beaded bracelet. Baked bread in pot when we got home. Yum.

Purchased 3 mugs from them in June. Got them home (carefully wrapped and protected) and upon the first coffee pour from a French press one cracked. Contacted them twice, no response, not even when I emailed the receipt. Can understand the defect, but paying the prices they charge for mugs and having to eat one because of their failure, not cool. Won't be back or recommend.

Stop in on our way to dinner to look around. The woman we visited with fathers is the owner. Very pleasant and helpful with information about Hannibal, what events were happening the holiday weekend. We purchased a couple of Christmas gifts to bring back with us. If we are in the area again we plan to stop again.

The pottery was so nice that I bought a few bakers for my daughter and a bunch of sea life for my art studio. They made it very hard to decide what pieces to buy and I ended up buying a lot because they were so well done! Steve says he’s been creating pottery for over 50 years now and it really shows. He also shared some places on the river we might go to explore and plugged Jave Jive coffee house which he thoroughly enjoyed. They packed and sent everything to us so there was no hassle trying to carry it home to California! What a great experience. Even if you aren’t in the market for ceramics, is worth going in to see his craft.

I first came across the Ayers in Memphis TN at the Pink Palace Crafts Show. I was so impressed with their unique bread bowls. I brought one and it is awesome to made bread and use to cook other things. I hope they will return to Memphis once again so I can order another one.

I tend to avoid souvenir shopping. But I make an exception every time I visit Hannibal. I browse through the wares at Ayers Pottery. More often than not, I find a piece to add to my collection. Be sure to look at the bargains on the "irregular" shelf.
