I recently shopped at this horrible business. At one point, I had questions about an item I found and approached the counter for assistance. Despite there being no other customers about, neither of the two men behind the counter were interested in helping me. As a disabled person, I found their lack of customer service to be reprehensible. Neither was willing to go get the item, instead suggesting I bring it up to the counter, which was ludicrous, considering I have to walk with a cane. I suggest anyone considering shopping here to give your time and custom elsewhere. This store deserves to fail.

The kind lady was so proactive in offering assistance to all of us. And her coworker kept the entrance flawlessly swept.

OLD Joes Town had more of a thrift store, mixed with consignment , with a touch of Maximalism, that gave the feel of slight scavenger hunt around each corner with a Lower price tag to match.
NEW Joes Town is more department store aesthetic, mixed with consignment, with a touch of Minimalism, that gives you the feel of neat, organized, structured, Upscale with a price tag to follow.
As a Long Time Parton of the Old James Town, this is a New Chapter…

Joe's Town has an awesome new look, and the service is top-notch! It has consignors and vendors. The furniture is very nice too. They have financing and layaway.

They have done a nice remodel on this store since last time I was there. It looks way better. They sell mostly new/newer furniture now and have a section of vinyl record albums too!

This scathing review is about an interaction with an older petite African American who was working here on the afternoon of December 28. My friend and I went to New Joe’s Town for the first time to purchase a table. we found one for $260. While waiting on the lady to finish attending to another customer, my friend also impulsively bought two pair of Gucci socks, tied up with a balloon string, for measly 20 dollars. When the lady finally took the payment for the table and socks, she told my she could not buy them together because the items were being sold by two different merchants. My friend proceeded to pay for the table with a card and the socks she paid cash and were given two receipts. We were very satisfied with our purchase and at that time really liked the store. However, January 20 when we revisited the store, my friend greeted the woman, she was ignored and rudely told by the woman that she needed to talk to her and immediately started accusing her of stealing the socks and said that she watched it all on camera! I was standing with my while the whole time becoming just as appalled, angry and offended because I now felt that she was accusing us both of theft. We told the woman we did pay for our items and repeated our whole transaction that happened on Dec. 28th. My friend and I became very irate because not only did she attempt to embarrass questioned and insulted our integrity. Our integrity is something we hold in high regard. We were very appalled that she accused us of stealing two pair of dusty second hand Gucci socks and demanded she show us the camera footage she claimed she watched. All of a sudden her whole Demeanor changed and she started apologizing and told us she was not accusing us of stealing and it must have been a computer error. We told her that it was very unfortunate and we would never shop at that store again! We went home retrieved the socks and took them back to the store. As we handed the socks to this woman we told her how appalled were that she had the audacity to accuse us of stealing and that our pride and integrity would not allow us to keep nor did we need these dusty measly 10 dollar socks! As she was taking the socks back, ignoring everything we said to her, this rude, condescending, lying no accountability having woman had the nerve to ask why did we bring back socks if we claimed we paid for it. It was another snide accusatory tone. That really ignited our desire to prove we paid for those socks and demanded she tell us what she saw on the video and to show it to us. She refused and said it would take too much time. We said we have time and would wait. She in turn said that she didn’t have time. I then told her I would call the cops so they can look at the recording to show that we did pay for those socks. She refused that solution as stating that she wouldn’t let the cops look at the footage and she didn’t have to because it was private property. In that moment we concluded that this woman was definitely lying about camera footage and trying to cover up her mistake! This lady is a disgrace and have absolutely no people skills. She lacks integrity, professionalism and should not be representing that store in any capacity.I will find out this woman’s name and update this post. This experience was very traumatic, embarrassing and infuriating for us. We will tell anyone that will listen what happened to us and urge them not to shop at this store. My advice to anyone who reads this and still decide to shop there is keep your receipts and bring them with you every time you return to that store when that lady is working! This is a ZERO STAR review.

We got a decent priced twin mattress from here. It's really nice inside and the lady who runs it is the sweetest.

Since they're reopening, JoesTown- Cynthia the new owner is very nice say hi!! You will find new furniture and gently used furniture, all kinds of home decor plus there are several booths that vendors stock all kinds of different items from Chiefs shirts to candles to home decor to gently used furniture. There are new items being brought in daily, so there's always new stuff ! It's a great place in the south part of Grandview and Belton there aren't many stores like it. I highly recommend you go in and visit, let's keep the store alive. Give it your business.
