Stephanie, Chase, & Joe were all so helpful! They made our home buying process so simple & made our closing so easy. I know not everyone has great experience with lenders, but Stephanie is the best one out there. We can’t thank her enough for making our first home buying process so quick & simple.

I reached out to Stephanie Shipley approximately 21 days before our VA loan was set to close because the mortgage company I had been working with was totally jacking us around. The other company told us everything was good, then they wanted an additional 34K down, and then they would not return a call or an email. However Stephanie took my call, stated she would make it happen and she did. She closed a VA loan for me in 21 days! Everyone knows a VA loan takes some time. Unfortunately we had to buy down the rate to get the numbers to work for us, but I am not blaming that on Guild. If we had had the 2 months I had been working with the other loan company to play with things I would have been able to pay off some other debt and make the numbers work...but with the small amount of time we had I did it that way. The fact is you get what you pay for....We had to pay a fee to use Guild and the rate was a bit higher than the online company we were originally working with. However I got the service I paid for from Guild which was exceptional and amazing, and I got zero service except a major hassle, run around and stress from the online company who was charging no fees to do our loan. Stephanie and her team took care of everything, made sure we were ready to close and that everything was done as needed. We are very grateful for their hard work and closing so fast.

Had to give a one star review because of this:I was looking to refinance my house and I was shopping around with different lenders. I contacted Guild first and got in contact with Stephanie who informed me on what I had to do, what all the steps are, etc. I made an appointment with her but had to cancel due to personal reason and I told her I would keep her updated. After shopping around, I found a better rate, with the same amount of fees that Guild was charging me through another company. The next day Stephanie proceeds to give me a call to check on how the situation is going. I informed her that I found a better rate elsewhere and I’m going to be taking my business with them and I thanked her for her time. She then got sort of snobby with me and asked how much my rate was, etc. I told her politely I would rather not discuss that at the moment because it has nothing to do with you or Guild Mortgage at this time. She then informed me that it was public information and she will just call and find out anyways. How is MY interest rate based on MY credit public information? Doesn’t make sense to me unless they share my information with other lenders, etc. I then told her have a nice day and she quickly said, “Mhm bye.” without even giving me a chance to tell her bye. I will never be back for business and I will make sure to inform everybody else I know who is looking for a lender about this information. Even if i was going to chose them as a lender or not, I prefer dealing with professionals.
