Bank Midwest has been the worst experience I’ve encountered with customer service. My husband passed in July and trying to get them to disburse the money has been a nightmare. We live in Oklahoma and no local branch in the state. I started this process mid July and still don’t haven’t received it. They requested the death certificate (which makes sense) and a written letter notarized saying he passed and I am his wife (which states that on the certified copy of the death certificate) and a cooy of drivers license. It can’t be sent electronically and they need that before moving forward from each beneficiary. I sent all info requested overnight with federal express. Today, I’ve been told they will send out the certified check with USPS and it will take 7-10 days. I asked if they could overnight due to needing the money to pay a mortgage that is behind. They said they can’t do it, even if I was going to pay out of pocket for this expense. I spoke to the manager and she said even if she could it wouldn’t go out until Friday because they only use fed ex on Fridays. This is sooooo unacceptable and they don’t care about the needs of the customers at all. Worst bank ever. Stay far far far away from them if you want good customer service.

The branch in Ecxelsior Springs called me when my balance was about to go below the interest bearing amount. When I visited the next da, they offered solutions and answered all my questions. I loved the personal touch in this ever electronic world.

Banked here for around 20yrs. Had them put hold on my check due to lack of funds due to having a injury at work and being off for months. Kinda need my money for bills but nope gotta wait on them... Definitely closing my account in the next few days, after they decide when I can have my money. Very rude teller that worked the window really wouldn't tell me what was going on. Very unprofessional and rude.

The folks at the Excelsior Springs branch were extremely helpful. A Lady by the name of Debbie Mapes did an exceptional job working with us. She went above and beyond the call of duty to make sure everything was right.

They won’t help me on anything , hanged up on me to avoid to talk to me ( I’m a customer), I called back been told everyone is busy will call me back but never called me back. They will rob you if you have an account here !
