Peaceful, relaxing retreat. The Inn is full of history, quaint decor, and comfy. A pleasant disconnect from the hustle and bustle. Terrific place to spend time with family and friends.

5 stars isn't enough. Nancy's breakfasts are good enough to make you book another night by themselves! However the inn is pretty exceptional as well. A literal piece of Americana. Flowing with history and down home feeling. Already planning my next visit.

If I could go anywhere in the world I want for a peaceful, relaxing vacation - it would be The Recess Inn without a doubt. I live in California and my family and I have been going there every year since 1996. Charming and beautiful. Awesome breakfast!!! It's like stepping back into a much better time. You owe it to yourself to visit this place!

Our group were the only guests for the evening so we kind of had free reign of the place. We played games in the library late into the night and slept in. The inn keeper cooked up a delicious breakfast at the time of our choosing. Left full and rested! Make sure you eat before you check in or bring food as there is not a restaurant in town.
