Simply called to ask about River/area conditions and the person could not have been more short or rude over a 45-second phone call.

My husband and I truly enjoyed our time at River of Life Farm. The views from our cabin were amazing. The cabin so welcoming and comfortable. Huge plus….kitchen service with a great cook! Loved not needing to leave to eat or lugging food. Was able to unplug from all electronics.
Rooms: Cabins are great for couples or medium to large groups. Nice jacuzzi tub.
Nearby activities: Great hiking trails and relaxing water activities.Fishing available on site.

PEACE AND PRIVACY.
Unspoiled nature but with civilized lodging. Outdoor firepit, indoor fireplace. Campground-style charcoal grill, modern kitchen. Floating, or reading on the couch. Steep rocky trails or smooth level ones. (Inspiration Point and Dogwood Trail, with a few inspiring quotes from the Bible on trees along the way.)
We visited in leaf season (crayon-red black gum trees!) Off-season weekdays provided the ultimate quietness at the end of this country road.
The River Rose cabin gave us a a great view. Standing on the deck in the dusk, listening to the falls, scoping out the red dogwood trees below, breathing in the pine smell, watching the moonlight on the whitewater of the river…aaahhh, the peace.
Jet tub filled really fast. There’s a shower too. Unlike many places, ample kitchen and bath linens were provided for a two-day stay. Also unlike most places, fairly clean windows!
A few tips:
Windows (except front door) are uncovered to the stellar view, so if you’re a privacy freak, plan accordingly. Although who’s gonna see in, second floor in the woods?
Maybe bring slippers or a small bedside rug for the bare beautiful floors in cool season.
For sunrise/moonrise coffee outside, there’s a swing, steel porch chairs and table, plus two nice gravity loungers in the closet to take out. If you like the comfort of your own camp chairs, it’s worth bringing them with a view like this.
Kitchen well set up to cook. Or you can walk into the lodge for breakfast; for an evening meal, give several hours’ notice.
The down-to-earth personnel UNDERSTAND hospitality. In quiet season they went a bit beyond what they would have to. I’m not saying what all, though, in case they can’t do it for everybody in busy season. ?

River of Life Farm is incredible. The lodging was superb and well worth the price. The cabins are isolated enough that we never saw our neighbors, although the cabin immediately next to us was empty. The amenities are modern, which I greatly appreciate as a city girl (plumbing, fridge, stove, oven, comfy mattress, fireplace, bug free). The balcony itself was spectacular. We brought our own food. The king bed only had 2 pillows that were both super flat, so if you prefer plush pillows, pack your own. The farm is quiet, peaceful, and rejuvenating. There's no cell service, but it was nice to disconnect. I would highly recommend, and we hope to come back!

Although we couldn't float due to river flooding, we still had an amazing time staying in the Tree Top Loft at River of Life Farm. We hiked through beautiful trails, played in the creek, and even jumped into a local spring. The lack of Wi-Fi and cell signal allowed us to truly disconnect from the outside world. With a huge selection of DVDs, we had plenty to keep us entertained in the evenings. However, it would be great if they also offered some board and card games for guests to enjoy.
The owners and staff were wonderful, and we highly recommend having Bob cook dinner one night. His meal was delicious, and he made a special strawberry banana popsicle for our kids that they loved. The experience felt like stepping back in time, to a family life 30 years ago, where we could truly enjoy each other's company without the distractions of technology.
The property itself is stunning, with incredible views and fun wildlife sightings, including the "famous armadillo." River of Life Farm is a special place where you can recharge and make lasting memories. We can’t wait to come back!

We stayed in the Falls house and the online pictures haven't been updated. The outside has been painted and looks much better than tge photo. The inside had plenty of room and very clean. Yes, there is no WIFI, but you don't need it. Enjoy the views and the sound of the river running right outside your door. The staff is very friendly, just don't be late for the float. Maynard is old school. I would recommend you visit River of life farm!

Went there for some peace and time with myself to reconnect to Nature. Had been wanting to go here for years. I had no idea the story behind this beautiful place.
My stay was amazing, no wifi, no cell signal unless you go to the lodge and connect, perfect for my retreat. No distractions.
Did not get to hike all the trails I wanted due to flooding and rain, but I will be back in the Fall when it is cooler and fall leaves will be perfect.
Got flooded in on my departure, spent time in the lodge waiting for the water to recede, got to have beautiful conversations with the Owner, his wife and Cookie Bob. Amazing people. I will cherish them and this experience. Thank you Myron, Ann and Cookie Bob!

We picked ROLF as our 1st vacation in 10+ years and they didn't disappoint. We stayed in the Cedar Chest Cabin and it was beautiful inside and out. It has a full kitchen but we decided to eat at the restaurant for our meals and chef Bob treated us like family and served us up some very delicious food. Everyone there was so polite and engaging it truly made our trip something special...

The cabins are fairly nice, quiet environment, great views. They felt dirty, the hand soap was watered down, comforters didn’t look clean and no shades on the large windows in the back of the house where the sun shone in early. The food was not good, they ran out of items, substituted main dishes without consulting and treated our large party like we were an inconvenience. I recommended bringing your own food if you decide to stay here. The river was pretty; kayaks are the way to go, not enough of a current to keep a raft moving.

Very unorganized with our reservation. The food was horrible the cook was very rude made sarcastic remarks all the time. There no water even available with meals. Worst experience we’ve ever had on a float trip. We would never go back or recommend.

Such a relaxing experience. This was my 2nd time here to canoe. There’s a 7 mile float or 12 mile float to chose from. This is a little bit more on the experienced side of canoeing. You have to know how to paddle and steer, Guide under a flowing KILLER bridge, and be able to get yourself together after flipping, as there are plenty of low spots to get caught on. Food is provided at this location, At an average of $10-20 a plate. All rooms provide a fridge/freezer if you are bring your own supplies! River is well kept. LITTER FREE!
Rooms: So many cabins and treehouses to chose from to rent out nightly.
Walkability: Walking trails are provided
Food and drinks: Provides meals throughout the day. Freshly cooked to order.

My wife and I took our honeymoon here and it was amazing! It’s off the beaten path but that is part of the charm. We were wanting some peace and quiet and this place delivered! We stayed at whispering pines and enjoyed the birdsongs in the morning. The trails were well maintained and marked. Myron and the staff were very friendly and helpful. We definitely plan to be back!
