Every single bad review here rings true to me. And much more. I had a stolen package (by a “temporary” delivery person) that was marked as being delivered. I had been refused delivery of packages that don’t fit in the mail box (due to “scary” dog) for years. Because my husband was backing out of our garage when he hit the post office car which was not supposed to park there in the first place. I had very incompetent people trying to “help” me at the post office. The two stars in my rating are for the lady that used to work in the office but probably retired, because I haven’t seen her there for years. Last week I officially complained about a disastrous lack of service on their part, and as a retaliation my next package was cut with a knife or scissors all the way to the product inside. The following day (a Saturday) my husband’s package was marked as being delivered to the mailbox including the exact time, which was not true. Thank God they delivered it the following Monday. As far as I am concerned, if they close down this office it would be great. Because it could not be any worse than what it already is.

They said they tried to deliver packages but never even attempted.

Dittmer is the worst post office. I don’t know how they get an average rating of 3 starts. Their inability to deliver packages is absurd. All other delivery services deliver packages to my house without any issue. USPS makes up every possible false excuse on “delivery attempted” notices while they never actually attempt to deliver anything. Why lie versus just admit to the laziness, incompetence, etc?

Probably the worst post office in Missouri. Will refuse to deliver packages if they are over a couple lbs even though shipping has been paid for you still have to go to the post office to get it (that is only open for service like 4 hours a day) and once a week me and the neighbors do a mail trade of what I have of their mail and what they have of mine... Literally every week for 2 years.

I never had problems with a post office until until I moved to the Dittmer area. They refuse to deliver packages that USPS was already paid to deliver which is fraud. Some days the mail is delivered, and some days the flags on the boxes are up for days with our outgoing mail left inside. I received no return calls after attempting to find a solution. Tracking shows my last package is still at the post office but was scheduled for redelivery last week. They complained of it being too long to deliver (54 inches). If you don’t have room in your vehicle for a 54 inch handle, then you need a different delivery vehicle or you need to make multiple trips. It’s literally a handle that they refused to deliver. I requested redelivery last week and still haven’t received the package or a call, so perhaps there is theft involved as well. This is not the first time Dittmer PO refused to deliver my packages. They also refused to deliver a package because it weighed 47 pounds. If that is too heavy, then they shouldn’t allow it to be shipped in the first place. The competition delivers packages up to 150 pounds and I haven’t had any problems at all with them. I hope Dittmer Post office does the right thing and corrects these problems, because they are failing miserably at performing their duties.

I have had mail show in my informed delivery, but I never get it. And I know it could have been stolen, but if that is the case it is the delivery person stealing it! I have watched it delivered to the box as I drive down the driveway and no one else beat me to the box...so....you tell me where those pieces of mail that never made it to me went? And, as others have said, some of these drivers are absolutely lazy! As a supervisor I would have fired most of them a long time ago and sure would not be paying them over minimum wage as they do not even earn that. If your employees are so lazy they cannot deliver packages as requested, do not contract with UPS, FedEx, or Amazon to deliver those packages! When packages make it to me without going through USPS I receive those packages without any issues. Not surprised as those drivers are not lazy.

Really top notch folks here. Have even had issues with another delivery company that I’ve gotten help correcting from the folks in the Dittmer Post Office. Late on a Friday hours after close and they still pick up and help me with yet another fedex snafu.

My mail always comes threw this place and its always at least a couple days late. Today I got a slip in the mail saying my mail wasn't delivered because of rain and to call them to reschedule but today July 8th was sunny all day not even a sprinkle of rain where I live

The staff has a very lack approach to my packages, they do not deliver packages and leave a slip, even when we are home.

Everyone there has been extremely helpful. They've always been courteous and patient. I use a post office box and have never had any major delivery problems. The only suggestion I would make is if a package doesn't fit comfortably into the size of particular post office box, it's better to leave a slip in the person's box to pick it up at the counter rather than try to make it fit in the box. Sometimes the item in question might be art paper or other items that should not be bent.

We have issues with packages too. Yesterday we were home & got notice delivered to the mailbox that they attempted to deliver a package. Obviously they did not because we we right there! So maybe the issue is too many packages for the route. With the increase in online shopping I could certainly understand that, BUT they need to find a way to deliver. Hire someone with a truck? I also take issue with the limited hours because it's not always convenient for me to make time in one of their 2-hour windows to get out there. We don't live close to the PO. On a lighter note, our mail lady is always pleasant & puts up with our rowdy dogs, which I appreciate.

Would be more helpful if they would actually deliver the packages.
