Generally fine, but the store can feel a bit barren at times.

Went to framing department, Des Peres, to have a piece framed and had a dismal experience. The person in framing, who at the time was helping one other customer, said "go away I am too busy. He did not offer me an appointment to return or a time estimate of when he would be free, nor did he call for help. Who coaches these people in customer service? I was made to feel unwelcome and not surprisingly I left. Went to the Brentwood Micheals and had an entirely different experience. Upbeat, welcoming and professional. I did call the manager at Des Peres who basically blew me off when I relayed my experience and suggested the employee be given some constructive feedback.

This isn't my local Michaels, but I was in the area and needed some art supplies so I stopped in. I found this store to be really clean and bright! The aisles are large and easy to maneuver around the store. I easily found just what I needed. The only downside was they only had one checker working, so it took forever to check out! This is a really nice store though. I was surprised how much Christmas decorations they had left! If you're looking for some great prices on leftover Christmas goodies, pop in here and take a look!

Ever since overhearing an incredibly unprofessional supervisor interacting with her Replenishment team at the Des Peres location, I stopped shopping here. Apparently Michael's doesn't properly train their employees nor provide adequate support to upper management resulting in very unhappy Michael's employees taking out their frustration on each other. Thankfully there are more ethical, properly managed craft stores in the area I am proud to give my money to :)

Don't buy online and pick up in store! It took me 20 times longer to get the item than had I just gone in the store and got the item. 100% cluster. And I ended up buying in store anyway.

This is not my favorite craft store, but this location is the worst I have been to. The staff are so rude and unfriendly. The store is cluttered and things are not easy to find. Staff puts stock in the middle of the aisle so you can barely get through and they will see you and not move an inch so you can get by. I'm when and if you find someone to ask for help while shopping they are rude and unhelpful. The variety of items they have is limited. I do many different crafts but let's talk about cross stitch. Do not go here unless all you need is thread and needles because they have nothing... not even magazines. I had to search for a stitch remover or sean ripper which should be right there with the sewing supplies but was not. The same goes for any type of quilting supplies. Their scrapbooking, sticker, and circuit machines and supplies are abundant t-shirts are available at times but not always. Wood working supplies are there but you can't find everything. Painting and drawing as well as crochet supplies are also abundant. My biggest problem with this store because I usually only go there for certain things because why go to a store I know doesn't have what I need when honestly Hobby lobby is just as close to me. But sometimes I am in the area and need something and this is convienen. And I always walk about wondering why I'm giving my money to a company who hired such rude people. I've said this numerous times now but they are rude. The checkout people especially. I told the lady today to have a nice day and I got a dirty look. I asked if she had scanned something left out of the bag and she nastily told me I left them out so you wouldn't have to dig for them... rolling her eyes as she says this. And it is always this way. I returned something once and it was snatched out of my hands and the guy practically yelled at me that I needed to go get what I wanted if I wanted to do an exchange or he'd give me cash.... I took the cash and went elsewhere. If you like being treated badly go to this store, otherwise choose another Michaels or go to Hobby Lobby which has a better selection and is much friendlier to their customers.

Shout out to Christopher, the most patient checker who allowed me to maximize my coupons like the 90 year old budget grandma I secretly really am. Seriously though, everyone in the store was helpful. Everything is nicely organized and tidy, an impressive feat considering the amount of inventory they carry.

Michaels is growing on me more and more. Sign up for emails. Pricing is not as high as I first thought now that I am more in the "know". Sales Flyer items plus coupons help make sticker shock manageable. This location is bright, clean, and well stocked. Michaels has supplies for any and every Pinterest project. This store also has a large section of home decor items. Parking is always available in this lot. Classes are offered in everything from Scarf Making to Drawing to Kids Crafts. See this stores website for class schedule and fees. Birthday Parties are also offered for a fee at this store.

Very slow to assist customers. However, I am giving 3 stars as the store is always clean.

I'm providing an additional star only due to the fact that my problem was eventually resolved by one of the store managers. I purchased a canvas at the Brentwood location which had some scuffs on it and I came to find out it was an older label compared to the exact same product they carry currently. My wife bought this for our newborn's room to put a decal on. Originally we were going to paint the canvas and put the decal over it. We decided to use a gloss finish that was clear and therefore we would see the scuff marks. At that point I attempted to return and exchange at the original store but they were still out of stock. We had purchased the last Canvas. This was approximately a week ago. I found out that the Des Peres location had the same item based off the UPC I gave to the store. However when I walked in one of the assistant store managers immediately told me that they don't carry that and it was probably a product from another store. I looked on the back of the label and it specifically says distributed by michael's. After I eventually was able to convince her that it was just an older label of the same thing they have in the store with the same UPC she still refused to exchange the product. Unfortunately I did not have my receipt, that being said their return policy says that as long as it's in the original packaging which this canvas still has all of its wrap around it that an item can be returned. This associate basically told me that she would've never sold it to me and that I knew what I was getting when I bought it so it was all my fault. I didn't get a discount for a damage product I didn't have to sign some waiver, it was not on me that they sold me something damaged. She also did not believe me and would not scan the UPC even though I told her it was the exact same one and they had four units of it in the store. Eventually another manager came up and after realizing that I simply wanted to exchange the canvas for the exact same thing that was in better condition she verified the UPC and went to go get in exchange for me. I have never given a review of anything but a restaurant and even then they have usually been great reviews. I cannot believe the customer experience that I just had coming from somebody who has been a store manager in retail and currently still is in retail. I am usually the one who never sends back anything at a restaurant even if it's completely wrong, I hate to haggle when buying a car because I don't like confrontation, in general I never complain when shopping for anything. I still can't believe that this woman was a manager and coming from her said she worked there two years. If that is who is working at Michael's then I don't want to shop there again.

Ran in for a quick trip to pick up some Christmas paper and candles. Found what I needed and had a speedy check out. Definitely will return to this location!
