Prior to sending my dog Connolly, I read every single review I could find. I didn’t sleep a wink the night before he was dropped off and even shed a tear or two. I can now, without a shadow of a doubt, say sending him to Sorenson was one of the best decisions I have ever made.Connie has jumped out of a moving car (luckily turning into a driveway), broken a plate glass door, and threatened to rupture ear drums with his piercing demand barking to name a few. When visiting him for his coming home training, he was truly a changed dog. He was calm, attentive, and eager to show what he learned. THIS was the goal. I have trained my previous dogs, but had finally met my match. I am so confident that he has the tools now to succeed and expand his world by getting to go places and meet new people.Max was our trainer. I highly recommend him and suggest you request him. When I went for MY training for how to continue this work at home, it was clear to see he loved my dog and my dog absolutely loves him. Connolly is an Irish Setter mix and stubborn as heck, for him to adore the person who has effectively stopped him from being a little tyrant speaks volumes. Max gave us detailed instructions as well as amazing photos and updates throughout Connie’s stay. It is clear that this isn’t just a job for Max, dogs are his passion. He did the arduous task of training Connie and it is now up to me to reinforce all that he has learned so he doesn’t lose it!So person at their wits end with the dog they love, I hope this review calms any nerves you may have about sending your dog to Sorenson for training. Ask for Max, I promise you won’t regret your decision!

Alyssa is the best! We adopted our Great Dane mix full grown and not leash trained. Also a big flight risk. He'd gotten better at sticking around but I couldn't walk him on a leash and without proper recall, couldn't let him run on our large property. I was a little skeptical when Alyssa met with us - I was sure only a 250+ lb man would be able to handle my dog, haha. I am SO amazed at the improvement in my dog. I can leash walk him easily (no leash actually needed) and on the property he has awesome recall. The added bonus is he's so calm now, doesn't rush the door, whine in the car, etc. as he knows his rules and I am more confident as well. THANK YOU ALYSSA AND SORENSON KENNELS!

I hated being away from my little girl for a month but she learned so much from her training.

We brought our female pup here in 2022 and they did an amazing job reforming her that when we adopted a new pup this year we knew where to go! Great value for the cost! Thank you Emily + Max!

We are over-the-moon happy with Sorenson and specifically our trainer Emily. We took our dogs, litter mate rescues Lucy & Ethyl. They had done a 2 week boot camp somewhere else a year ago. It was a waste of money. The gist of that training was that you never tell the dog "no". You only give positive feedback to them. Seriously? That may work for a mild mannered golden retriever but not my girls. They are the sweetest pups most of the time but little terrors the rest. Ethyl would bolt out the door any chance she got (Lucy would follow if possible). She would charge the neighbors and other dogs especially after another neighborhood dog broke free and came after her (gotta love Lake St Louis' "no fence" rule!). Treats, the car - nothing worked to get her to come back until she was good and ready. I was scared they would get hit by a car or taken away from us. We needed the girls to come to us every single time they were called, for them not to jump on everyone (especially my 81 year old father whom they adore), not to go crazy every time they saw a car, person, dog, squirrel etc, for them to walk nicely and not drag us around. They were in control and that needed to change.Someone recommended Sorenson to us and we found the 4 week option to cost not much more than the 2 week one we tried before especially because Sorenson included a bath at the end. The other place charged me $100 a dog! We were excited to find out we had gotten Emily because we had read so many good things about her. Let me tell you-she is amazing! She loves the dogs and she loves her job and it shows. She sent us pictures, videos and updates at least twice a week. We could tell that the girls were happy and comfortable with her. The boarding staff was also wonderful. They custom made each girl's food each night to make sure they ate it. When we went to see the girls for our training at the 3 week mark, they weren't stinky or anything! The biggie though is the change in the girls. They still have their sweet personalities but their behavior has totally changed. They are not the aggressive, out of control dogs we took in. They are much calmer. They are well mannered and listen to commands. I don't think Ethyl will run now. It'll take a while for us to trust her though. They walk nicely and even quit barking when we say "Quiet". There's no hollering over them anymore. Emily even practiced toenail trimming with them. Bonus! As with any training, it doesn't stick unless we humans are trained too. What we loved is that at Sorenson they spend a lot of time training us so we would be successful. We were able to continue their training at home right away. We also have 2 more sessions with Emily at no charge if we need them. So if you have more challenging dogs, I can confidently tell you to go here. It was a life changer for us.

We have a standard poodle puppy that we love so much, but she is a stubborn one! We tried our best to train her ourselves - watching videos, getting advice from our vet, and constant internet searches on how to modify her behavior. Nothing worked. Thankfully, someone suggested Sorenson. We called and they answered all our questions and we went out for a meet and greet with a trainer. Max was very professional, and his approach was calm but firm. He explained everything to us and made us feel at ease with leaving her for 4 weeks. We missed her, but Max sent updates with pictures and/or videos twice a week. It was great to see her progress and assured us we made the best decision for her and our family. Our girl is still very much a silly, playful puppy, but thanks to Max she is also obedient. Now that she is home, we have to be consistent and practice all that she has learned, but we could not be happier with the results.

We did 1 month of board and train for our 9 month old GSP pup, River. Jessica was our trainer and she did a great job. We had open communication throughout the process. We were amazed at what our difficult pup was capable of! Our dog knows and understands all commands we were told she would learn. Now, learning to properly continue her training and reinforce what she learned is the hard part. You do get a lesson when you pick the pup up, and a second included follow up lesson you can utilize if you get home and find you’re struggling. Overall we are very happy with our experience.

We just picked up our puppy today, and I was amazed at what Emily (our fantastic trainer!) was able to do in 4 weeks. He has learned so much and her training lesson with us was so helpful and informative. I highly recommend Sorenson's for anyone who wants a well trained and happy puppy. He was well taken care of!

We drove from out of State to acquire a Lab pup from Sorenson's. We highly recommend Sorenson's Kennels if you are interested in AKC certified, pure bred retrievers. Sorenson's has decades of experience and results. If we lived in the greater St Louis metro area, we'd certainly use Sorenson's for boarding and training.

Karen and I are thrilled with the work Emily did with our George. Getting a 9 month old, rambunctious "adolescent" puppy to follow commands was our goal and Emily helped us accomplish that task. She provided texts with pictures and updates on George's progress every 4 or 5 days, which was greatly appreciated. Thanks to Emily and Sorenson's Kennels for their superior abilities.
