Very nice company equipment is great i really enjoyed the river .i will definitely recommend this company two anyone.

Did the 7 mile float. Had a great experience at Hootentown. Everyone was friendly and helpful. Much better experience than other outfitters on James River that we've been to. Of course it was a wait getting on the bus to go up river. That happens. It's part of it.

Awesome place to rent a kayak or canoe for a day. We had to wait almost two hours past our scheduled time before we ever got into the river, but I’ll blame that on it being the start of summer and having a big group. Overall a really good experience and friendly staff. For sure will be back with hopefully less wait time.
About Hootentown Canoe Rental, Campground and Store
We have been in business since 1993. We are located on the James River, 20 miles from Springfield and 25 miles from Branson Missouri. We offer canoe, tandem kayaks, kayaks, rafts and tube float trips. We also have something new to float in called a Mini Cat. There is a picture of the new item in our photos. For those of you with your own equipment we offer a variety of ways to get you on the river with our shuttle service. We have over 27 acres for you to enjoy. There is plenty of room for tent camping and trees for hammocks. We also have electric, water and sewer hook ups available. Daily visitors are welcome also. Must be 21 or accompanied by a parent to camp or visit for the day. Our services are available year around.
