This place SAVED my 10 year old kitty. we had gotten very poor care from a different vet & this place was so different. The employees listened to our concerns about our kitty, and actually figured out what was wrong very quickly. I cannot thank the staff enough for helping my kitty. They not only saved her, but they were incredibly helpful in her recovery process as well. I still have my best friend because of this place.

We recently took our kitty into a local vet for some tests on a saturday and found out she was way sicker than we thought and the prognosis was not good, a few days maybe, we had two options, have her put to sleep or try and get the best care possible for her. We drove 2 hours to get her here and I can say with absolute certainty that they saved our kittys life. The doctors (3) listened to every concern we had, formulated a plan to help our cat and kept us in the loop every single day. We honest to god thought that when we dropped her off that would be the last time we saw her. That was 6 days ago, and we just picked her up and brought her home. I cant say enough nice things about Dr. Jensen and the veterinary help, Erin, you could tell they truly cared about our special kitty. I wouldnt hesitate to take my animals here. This was my experience with MU Vet hospital

Very genuine, caring people (no exceptions). It was hard to ignore the passion the staff had for my dog's life. They gotchu covered (with all the info/support/care). It was/is pretty difficult to come up with a question (for my dog's health). Being on point is an understatement, here.

Do NOT take your animals here!!! 2 hour drive for us to take our Highland cow for a broken leg and they never weighed him yet gave him enough sedation to cause brain damage and kill him. Awful experience for a cow with a broken leg to then end up brain dead, blind, have 3 days suffering with severe neurological damage, he couldn’t even eat on his own! We had to say goodbye to a beautiful $8k pet who was only 2yrs young. They should have known his weight and gaged his anesthesia accordingly. Top that with a bill to bury him. Awful experience!!! I could have nursed him back in a dry lot but they were going to do a simple cast, how did that turn so tragic with such a lack of knowledge on something as simple as how much the animal weighs. Heartbroken still!3 doctors, an anesthesiologist and a dozed senior students yet nobody thought to weigh him before they started pumping an overdose amount of sedative to cause him to be brain dead. I work in healthcare & this would be classified malpractice, instead they hand you the bill for their sloppy work on your loved pet. Do not go here!!

I would give no stars if I could. I would not take your pet rock here. They way over charge you and end up killing your pet anyways. Then blow up your phone demanding payment.

This facility lied to us about about the true diagnosis of our precious baby boy. They said and treated him for Leptospirosis when in fact he had cancer and died the day after Christmas. We only had him a day when we found out the true report. Our vet received the full report after my check cleared the bank. I would not recommend them to anyone. The suffering Spud went through there to die a week later. Nothing can bring him back, I know but please people find somewhere else to help your fur babies.

You can go in there and get the top of the class... you can also get the worst student. Also the pricing seemed pretty high for students.

We have been using the University Vet School for many years to help maintain the health of our small cattle herd. We find their prices and service very good and quite reasonable. They always send experienced vets along with 3-6 students. We enjoy seeing the learning experience for the students. Highly recommend.

My kitty Thebe had surgery to repair a PDA here in 2015. At the time she was showing signs of heart enlargement and likely would have struggled to see her 8th birthday had the surgery not been performed. I was a graduate student at the time, and couldn’t afford major vet bills, but the hospital had a resident surgeon experienced in the exact procedure and performed it at a very reasonable price (~$1500 + $500 for scans and tests prior to the surgery. I later learned this surgery would cost $10-15k where I live now). I am happy to say not only was the surgery a success, but she is still bossing me around today at the age of 15, apparently determined to do so into her 20s. I can’t imagine going through the struggle of being unemployed after grad school for 2 years during the pandemic without her, so all my thanks go to this wonderful teaching hospital for giving her so much more time, and me a reason to keep going at my darkest times.

We had taken our dog here and put down a couple grand when we had came to pick him up he was in worse condition and they were demanding for more money. They were rude, informal, and draining of money. Wouldn’t recommend taking your animal here.

I wish we would have taken our dog somewhere else. I believe the doctor and students did a good job, but the their billing department and overall desk/office staff is pretty horrendous. Our bill totaled a little over $16k (original estimate was 10k)We still owe $2400 and are making payments but they won’t do a follow up because we still owe a small amount. I would think we showed our commitment to pay when we came up with 14k in three days, but apparently money is the only thing they really care about. Our dog underwent a very serious procedure and to tell someone you won’t follow up, or even check the surgery you did to make sure it’s healed correctly because there is still a small balance owed is pretty crazy to me.Honestly, just stay away. I read the reviews after the fact and wished I hadn’t. The negative reviews and the reviews about the staff being rude and the billing being insane is pretty spot on

The mizzou vet hospital is the best around. They’ve helped my dog Oscar multiple times now and I can’t thank them enough. Every person I’ve been in contact with has been so friendly and nice. Dr. Majors and Tyler kept me updated on how my dog was doing step by step the entire time they had him and it made me feel so much better and I knew he was in great hands. Everyone here really cares about animals and that’s shown in the excellent care they provide. Thank you again!!!

We can't begin to express our appreciation to the doctors and staff here. Our young golden retriever had been bitten by a Copperhead snake and the hospital was prepared with the anti-venom and the diagnostic facilities to montior his recovery. Equally important was the kindness and caring demonstrated by all involved. A truly wonderful resource for our community

I owe a debt of gratitude to this place. My poor buddy had brain cancer and was not stabilizing well after his neuro tests, and even though letting him go was the hardest thing I've ever done, I never had a second thought about if he had been treated well or if the doctors and staff knew what they were doing. I was always treated with kindness and respect, and they seemed to love my boy too; I cannot express how much that means with words. I drove 2.5 hours to take my buddy to the hospital here, and I will likely be driving my other pets out there too. The prices are fair, even if paying out of pocket (compared to other hospitals). You should feel safe taking your furry loved-ones here, I feel like they all cared about my buddy just as much as I did.
