My regular gas station. Granted he pulled it off of the grill while I watched but I just had an excellent Hamburger with all the trimmings at this unlikely restaurant. I've also had the pork tenderloin just lately and it too exceeded expectations

The two times I bought meat from the meat counter I was really disappointed, to say the least. Thick cut bacon had so much fat there wasn't much bacon left after cooking. I figured it was just a fluke, I forgave them and I moved on with my life. But a month later I am browsing the meat counter, and I spot pineapple bratwurst. I'd seen it before at other stores and was curious so I thought I'll try it. In the same order I get cheddar bacon burgers, both beef and chicken, and cheddar bacon bratwurst patties. 1) The absolute worst by far was the pineapple brats. Thank God I only bought two. I like pineapple, I've had Hawaiian brats before, seemed legit. Absolute disgust after the first bite. I nearly didn't bite in to begin with after seeing how they looked coming off the grill. The skin was thick and grayish, it had an odd color overall and it smelled weird. I couldn't place it until I bit in. Freaking cinnamon. That's all you taste. And realize that's the smell. And it's a nauseating combination with the brat meat. The skin was thick and chewy, I tasted ZERO pineapple and I was physically sick to my stomach. My husband thought I was exaggerating so he took a bite. Same reaction and peppered with expletives. We both said "what the f--" a lot. BTW their website states for these brats "contains less than 2% cinnamon..." Bull. It's all cinnamon and no pineapple. Nasty. I can still taste and smell it a week later. Freaking tastebud PTSD. 2) I'll shorten my rant about the cheddar bacon products. Hard pass, though. Grilled those up and there's a funk to all of them...the burgers (both beef and chicken) and the brat patties. My only comment after biting into the burger was "It tastes like feet!" Others tried the rest of the varieties and agreed the bacon cheddar flavors are pretty bad. Absolute waste of money. Every last bit of those products went on the trash and I had to make a Wendy's run to feed everyone. So out even more money on top of it. i'm done with Hyvee. I haven't tried anything else under their brand name, but I won't be. Pineapple bratwurst might not be the norm, but lay off the cinnamon. But when you can't even make a good bacon cheddar hamburger? Bye.

This was a nice clean store with lots of choices. The staff was friendly and the liquor store has nice choices. Overall, this was a good shopping experience and we will be back again.

Hy-Vee Restaurant/Market Grille: This place has really gone downhill over the past month. No more table service/wait staff, just a skeleton crew. Place is always empty now. Used to be staffed with five people and now down to two. Dirty tables, etc. Food inconsistent, cut back on hours open. I'm guessing it will be shuttered soon. As it should be if this is what they have to offer. Overall, the grocery store is well staffed and pharmacy folks are some of the nicest people in town.

I have shopped here for several years and always appreciate the cleanliness and the quick check out experience. Last week I tried the grocery pick up twice and had a wonderful experience. In my feedback email yesterday, I said that I must be ordering my bananas incorrectly because I kept just getting one. ? Today I got an email and a phone call explaining how to order bananas on the grocery pick up website. I’m super impressed!

Very pricey for what you get. I got there normal cheeseburger and was underwhelmed. I got their lowest price cheeseburger fries and a drink and they came up over $14. And I'm still hungry. If you compare this would just jobs or mad cow the only benefit this place has is they serve Coke products. But for the money is much better off at Just Jeff's.

Not impressed. Pictures of the food looks great. Salads are drenched in dressing Making lettuce soggy. Asked for no Jalapeños in 1 salad. Got jalapeños..... The abundant amount Bun croutons in the salad kinda defeats the purpose of getting a salad. the string onion rings were good.

The Nifong Hy-Vee's restaurant becomes a Wahlburgers at 11 a.m. which should be your signal to run away as fast as you can. The food is very expensive but tastes like something from a bad high school cafeteria. A 1/3 lb (allegedly) burger and one side is $11. Yes, $11. A Mcdouble and fries at the golden arches is arguable better and costs less than half that. Don't be fooled by the menu descriptions which sound tasty -- the food isn't.

We eagerly anticipated the opening of Wahlburgers but when we finally were able to visit, the experience was very underwhelming. We were glad to see the burger plates did come with a side, but the one we chose to split was almost $15.00. Outside of an airport or Disneyworld, I've never paid $15 for a cheeseburger. Since we split the burger, we ordered an extra side for $3+. With two drinks, lunch came to about $24 and we were splitting it between us! For this price, I was expecting to really enjoy my part of the meal, but it was average at best. Honestly, I could get a better burger at Five Guys for less than half the cost. The staff was friendly and efficient, but the food was not worth the price. We came. We ate. We will not be back.

Shout out to the lovely African-American woman working in the Deli! I have grown up with Hy-Vee my entire life and I now live in Denver. Hy-Vee has ALWAYS stood up above and beyond (in Keokuk you got a number on your cart and everyone who wanted it got drive up trunk service... very nice especially in the bitter Iowa cold) Gal in the Deli at Columbia not only came out to greet me and my family, but she asked what we were looking for and she came out to look for what we wanted. Kings Hawaiian rolls go quickly around Xmas, so we weren't really surprised to see the shelf was empty! I don't know what her name was, but she made it her priority to find what we wanted in the Deli freezer. Thank you for making my Xmas visit back home a memorable one, unknown name lady! You are beautiful! Thank you to Hy-Vee for always being the best there is!
