This company is horrible. They prey on the frat members the first week of classes. They promise them they will get the best parking spots, the best apartment, but they need to sign up now. I was dealing with the loss of my husband, so I just went ahead and signed.
They have terrible customer service. The A/C goes out, the internet goes out. They are charging $1000 + per person per month, so $4000 for the furnished apt. The final bill, they were going to charge $800 for damage to furniture. My son's room mate had worked for them and they removed the charge for the "damaged furniture". We were still charged $400 for a mattress that had 3 stains on it. We found out later that they were supposed to provide a mattress cover upon move in, which they did not provide. My son took pictures on move-in that showed there was no mattress cover. Had there been a cover, the mattress would not have been stained. I called numerous times. No one returns a call. I was told to email the manager with pictures. She never responded. I called again, and she happened to answer the phone! After going around in circles she put me on hold to "call corporate" to see what could be done and came back and said she could take $50 off for the mattress cover that we never received. I have been dealing with this for a month! Just beware.

This is going to be a bit long…
I barely wrote reviews but I just had the worse customer experience ever. I just moved in yesterday and needed urgent help for apartment issues. I called the urgency maintenance number over 10 times today from 9am until 4pm,and left two voice messages and no one picked it up or called me back.
Later on I dialed ‘additional inquiry’ line and Lesley was able to pick up the phone but she was very RUDE to me. I kindly asked her to address the my urgent request to whoever can help because I was not able to stay in the new apartment until the problem is fixed due to current unhealthy living condition. After she talked with the manager, the solution I got was that - the manager will let maintenance team know, but they don’t have estimated time when maintenance will come; I have to stay in that unhealthy living conditioned apartment to wait for the maintenance team to come. They won’t call me before they visit (even if I requested them to) so if I just take a walk and accidentally miss maintenance’s visit I will have to wait again for their next visit which again I still don’t know when. In other words, I need stay in that unhealthy conditioned apartment 24/7 for unkown number of days to avoid missing the maintenance.
I have no idea if this would even make sense to Lesley herself and that solution just made me feel like they did not try to help. As I was trying to explain to her why this makes 0 sense, her tone was very rude and basically told me that was it. In the middle of the conversation I had to tell her that I wasn’t trying to argue, just solve the problem, and she didn’t need to speak to me with an attitude.
BUT THAT IS NOT END OF THE STORY!!!
Later on, I also addressed another issue to her - I asked her if she could provide WiFi info since I did not receive any WiFi information when I moved in. She said she would send it to me shortly and then we finished the call.
After about 30mins of not getting the message especially it was very close to their office close time I called again, and right after I said ‘hello’ Lesley just hang up on me! ! Yes you see it right! I am not sure if she understands the basic manner and respect, but this is just RIDICULOUS, DISRESPECTFUL and UNPROFESSIONAL. I hope she gets enough training and knows how to show respect to the customers before being able to work.
FYI - I stay in their 1b apartment and it is prob the most expensive 1b apartment in entire Columbia and I can’t believe this is what I am experiencing .

Beware! They are ripping off students. They make up damage. The apartments are in poor shape already upon move in and the furniture is also. Then on move out they charge for damages that were already there. You cannot reach a person via phone nor will anyone call you back. The management is horrible. Again think twice before moving there. If you have already signed a lease get out of prior to move in day!!

Brookside downtown is amazing!! I love the location and how it’s very close to everything you can do downtown!! The rooftop pool is an amazing add to this apartment!

Brookside is definitely the best place to live if you are looking for living in como. It’s super close to campus and to downtown which makes getting where you need to go super convenient and easy. The apartments are well kept up and super nice and spacious. The perfect place to live with friends or alone! Also, booking a tour and signing a lease here was super easy and all of the leasing agents were really easy to talk to, knowledgeable, helpful, and very nice.
