An entire wall is full of literary contemporary and classic fiction, there's a science fiction section worthy of your time, and a small but delightful shelf for novels in foreign languages. If you close your eyes, spin around, and point at a spine, there's a good chance it's a gem. I can't recommend this place enough!”

N 8th St, Columbia“I fancy myself a bit of a bookstore connoisseur and this place inhabits a very unique and wonderful category. If you enjoy the hunt and adding elbow grease to your browsing, you won’t mind the multiple rows of stacked books blocking other books or boxes piled up or a little bit of dust on your hands afterwards. I always walk out with some unique gems. Highly recommend. Bring cash or Venmo!”

It's a small place but I could get lost in there for days. I bought a great book there called 101 Ways to Go Zero Waste that's already helping me make major changes in my footprint!”

She is very forgiving and will vocally ask for your attention and scratches. After all what is a bookstore without a resident kitty or two!Take the kids! There is a wonderful selection of vintage books for young readers and those who are young at heart. I have never seen so many Golden Books in one place. Enjoy!”

While the cashier wasn’t particularly helpful and was not familiar with the store’s stock, there was a manager(?) on the floor that was wildly efficient and helpful. We found the shirt styles we were looking for in no time. I also loved the faculty T-shirt wall and found it surprising how well priced everything was. As for t-shirt sizing, we found we had to size up one size. (Med ➡️ large)”
“Love coming here to browse books and look at what's new to read. Plenty to choose from and find a new read. I love the book choices they put out on the main tables.”

2711 W Ash St, Columbia“Interesting, comes to mind...also, the campus is spacious, and navigating is easy. Many windows allow for sunlight(even when it's cloudy); and the outside grounds are terrific- especially the pond. You would not notice this building except for the fact that it is 2 football fields long and almost as wide. Also, it is always busy; trucks in and out, people coming and going. Kind of interesting.”
“This is one of my favorite places in Columbia! They have everything from tarot/oracle cards, crystals, candles, books, jewelry, incense - more things to list than I can remember! It’s easy to lose yourself wandering and looking at all of the beautiful items. I usually have to take at least two laps around the store because I often miss things the first time! All of the owners and staff are incredibly kind, knowledgeable, and willing to answer any questions with grace and humor. Love this store!”
“Skylark is your quintessential local bookshop. I went on a Saturday morning when there was a children’s book reading in the shop’s front window to greet me as I entered. It was busy, but not crowded. The staff were kind and helpful, but provided the space for patrons to peruse leisurely. Based on my selections, at checkout, the staff suggested a book club offered at the shop each month where everyone is welcome.”
