If you can manage to find the Fire Tower trail, it's a pretty great hike. The maps are not great, the signs are useless and the trail blazes/other markers are an actual joke. The blazes on a woodsy trail are *brown* for the love of all that's holy. Fire Tower connects to the Deer run trail all the way down to the hatchery. The hatchery is pretty cool. You can feed the trout --$0.25 will get you a handful of feed.Playground: There's a playgroundRestrooms: Restrooms near the hatcheryDog-friendliness: Very pup-friendly. Dogs can even tour the hatchery which is just a total laugh riot.

6 generations of our family have visited this park over the years. It’s lost a lot of its quaintness due to modernization. It’s too “commercial” for me. I preferred the older, more nostalgic Roaring River. It’s sad to see what has been done to it. From the old diner to the park store, it’s all too “new” and much more expensive. Rooms and cabins are cost prohibitive. We stay at other places now, when we go.Also, theft has increased. It used to be non-existent in and around the park. Now everything from your fishing gear to your stringers of fish are commonly stolen.

Hands down one of my most favorite places to visit! The scenery is absolutely stunning and the fishing is spectacular! I’ve fly fished and fished with regular spinning gear and had great luck every single time! Keep you eyes out for the bald eagles that live at Roaring River State Park!

I live almost 3 hours from this state park. It is well worth the day trip. You are also able to feed the fish. The park has a quarter machine to get the food. If you don't have change, they have a machine that you can put a $1, $5, or a $10 in. And it gives you all quarters. The trails are well marked and easy to hike. On a sunny day, it would be nice to have a picnic. And there is an area to camp.

Staff are wonderful! They are very attentive and quick to resolve issues that arise. Wonderful trails and pathways, excellent fishing areas. The restrooms have amazingly hot & clear water. I love coming here year after year.

The HB had a workshop to attend at that Roaring River State Park, so I was happy to make the drive. I haven't been to Roaring River since I was very young (Mr. HB's dad was an avid fisherman). RR is one of the most beautiful state parks in MO. If you are looking for seclusion and beautiful scenery, Roaring River State Park is a must see in Missouri.

The water was ice cold, which was refreshing since it was so hot outside. Thank God for electric hookup. We all had fans in our tents.I wish the pool would've been open.

This is a beautiful park!! We caught some nice trout! The spring is gorgeous and there are plenty of areas to fish without being too crowded. My only wish is they wouldn’t have giant ragweed as natural pollinators…it’s rough for us allergy sufferers.
