Carthage Humane Society is a very nice and clean facility, not like some other shelters. It is one of the cleanest animal shelters, without an overwhelming animal stench. The staff and volunteers are very friendly, helpful, welcoming, and straightforward. They are some of the most compassionate and dedicated individuals, and you can tell they love the animals and truly care about their well-being. They work tirelessly for the animals. The adoption process is very simple. The staff provides very good directions for after-care and makes sure adopters have all known vaccination records. They have collars, leashes, and harnesses ready. The adoption fee is very reasonable, and they can microchip pets for a small fee. Many people highly recommend this shelter for anyone looking for a pet. It is a special place making a difference in the lives of many animals and families.

I adopted a 6 month lab back in 2015, Max has been awesome! He was adopted as a birthday gift for my husband and Max has been super loyal, super family, super sensitive to me as I went through health issues. Max loves my kids and grands. I can't imagine life without him. Thank you so much for saving his life and blessings...

This facility is so nice! I’ve been in some slum of shelter, but this one is not one of those! The lady is at work here and all the volunteers are so friendly. I highly recommend if you were looking for a pet to get one here.
