Visited Cameron to check out the hot air balloon launch event. It was a very well planned event, so good job to the organizers!Tickets were purchased online, and scanning in was easy.There were portable toilets available in different areas for the event. Lots of runway space for a small airport.You could bring your lawn chair or tent to watch the launch when it got darker.Parking was a breeze and free! The attendants completely took care of me as if I was an oblivious tourist and I loved every second of it! ?There was live music from local bands and a few seller tents with various options for purchase. This started before the launch. The headliner band paid tribute to the Beach Boys and it all tied in with a very pleasant day for fun and dancing.There were enormous jumping castles for kiddos and I could tell they were all dizzy with excitement. It was pleasant to pass by and see.Around 7pm the balloons got fired up and the evening ended with a glow of balloons in the sky ( which sadly I couldn't stay for due to another event)The people of Cameron are wonderful! I felt like I was in cute little country by itself with perfect blue skies and warm smiles. I can't thank the people of the event and the vendors, for their kindness toward me and for allowing the pics to be posted online.I purchased cute little keepsakes.A little wind balloon for the outdoors at home, and some crystals and scented essential oils.

This is an awesome airport. Eric, the airport manager, is very helpful. He is also a top-notch flight instructor. There are also a couple of A&P mechanics that service aircraft at Cameron. They are both great to work with also.
