I learned a very valuable lesson about the vast difference in capabilities and servicing between Michael's and Hobby Lobby. I ordered a custom mat on February 17, 2024. I simply wanted to replace an existing black mat, with three 8X10" openings, that came in a photo frame I purchased, with a cream-colored mat of the same exact dimensions. The store clerk asked to take the measurements so any mistakes would be attributable to them, and not me. The cream-colored mat had to be sent out for order and could not be cut in the Brentwood, MO store location, because they're unable to cut mats with multiple openings on site. I paid $76.41 for the mat. It arrived a week and two days later on February 26. I took it home and discovered the three 8X10" openings of the new cream-colored mat did not line up with the black mat. I returned to the store on February 27 to have it redone. I was told that measurements were taken of the outer dimensions of the mat, as well as the three openings, but not between the three openings, so the mat will never compare exactly to the black mat. I was told I must instead order a cream-colored replacement for the black mat in addition to a replacement for the white mat under which the black mat sits in the photo frame, and I was not offered a refund. I have no idea why the Michael's staff is unable to include measurements between multiple openings in a mat, but it seems like BS to me. I immediately drove to the Hobby Lobby location in Kirkwood, MO. A very helpful store clerk assisted me. They will cut the mat on-site, in the store. They will take all measurements of the black mat, so the new cream-colored mat matches it directly. They will only charge me $25 instead of $76 for the single mat. I will take all future custom mat orders to Hobby Lobby, not Michael's.

Worst Michaels I have ever walked into. The employees are rude and go out of their way not to help you. If you ask for help they shrug their shoulders and walk away. The managers should be ashamed of the staffing choices they have made. Will I go back, no. To another Michaels location, maybe not.

The servers were great, the food was delicious, and I could actually hear myself talk! We didn't need a reservation, but had a tiny wait (to be expected). The menu is limited for vegetarians/vegans, but there is a lot of gluten free options. Highly recommend for anyone with dietary restrictions.

I felt welcomed as soon as I stepped foot inside. Any staff member within a few feet of us introduced themselves and asked us if we had any questions and made sure we knew they were available. It was a pleasant shopping experience which made home renovation little less daunting.

Bumping up a Star today for the outstanding customer service. They went beyond my expectations in helping me find what I was searching for. Again, I will state I am not an arts and craft person, so I rarely shop stores like Michaels. I was on a mission, I needed a pillow insert that measured 16x16. I have decorative holiday pillow covers I use for a chair in my foyer. When I bought a non-holiday cover, I accidentally bought it in a smaller size. That is when I learned that when shopping on the internet, you've got to make sure you've checked all the right boxes. Wanting to put my non-holiday pillow out, I needed my insert NOW. I was going to be in STL for the day, so I thought I try various stores to find the size I needed. I had no luck. Even the store with 3 B's in its name didn't have one. As I turned right on Brentwood from Edgar, my brain clicked and thought of Michaels. I made a U-turn (legally) and drove back to Michaels. I immediately was captivated by fall and Halloween decor. I snagged a couple of pieces for my home and continued my search for the pillow inserts. Bummer, I couldn't find them and went to the check-out to pay for my purchase. That is when the outstanding customer service kicked in. The cashier asked if I found everything I was looking for and needed. For once, I was honest and said, "no". She and the other lady behind the counter immediately quizzed me on what I needed. When I told them a pillow insert, they knew that they had them. The one finished ringing me out, while the other ran upstairs (it's a two level store) to fetch my pillow. After being rung out, I stepped out of the way for social distancing and so other shoppers could be rung out. While I stood there, the one lady radioed the cashier and asked her how many inserts I needed. They indeed had the pillows. I responded, I just needed one. Before she could return with my pillow, another associate working stock noticed me standing there and came over to make sure I didn't need any type of assistance. I informed her that her co-workers were on it and taking care of me. When the associate returned with my pillow insert, it was perfect. It was exactly what I was looking for and needed. She then took me to a register and opened it up, so I did not have to get back in line to check-out. All of this was service beyond my expectations. To have this type of service is impressive, wither it is during a pandemic or not. I am a fan of Michales now. Sorry for the long review, just for a pillow insert, but I wanted to share the story and give them a good shout out. When: September 17, 2021 Why: In need of pillow insert.

This review is specifically for Linda in the framing department. I came in with a busted frame that was definitely not an easy fix, and she dropped everything to help me and work through the problem. She was so sweet, so funny, and so kind throughout the whole process, that she has turned me into a lifelong Michael's customer.

I use this Michael's a lot for random moments when I run out of a paint color or I'm in need of new canvas. I've set up a rewards account with them but the coupons seems to change at a moments notice and they send so many emails that the coupons that work are hard to find. For example I have had 3$ of rewards in my account but at checkout every time they say they can't apply it because I can't find the original email... despite it being clearly listed in every email the amount of $ I have in points. Michael's feels like a stressful scavenger hunt when trying to find the best deal. Make sure you double check the fine print that's hard to find. The staff I have spoken to at this location have been kind but are also clearly exhausted. Now to my number one gripe... this store smells so bad! At first, about two years ago, I assumed it was just an off day. It's consistent. My partner actually asks we drive out to one farther away to avoid the stink. I'm not sure what the deal is but I truly feel for the workers.

I love browsing arts and crafts stores and this Michaels feels bigger than most because it has the main floor and the upstairs. I often go when I have a 40% off coupon.

Love this shop! Everyone is always nice and helpful here, Michaels as endless crafts and photography items, as well as the top floor changes out seasonally for any decor needs. There's always parking in the lot when I've gone and always look for coupons online- they honor them :)

I give this location a 0 The manager was very rude and argued about the door buster sign that was on the flowers. Out of all of the flowers I picked out, one was the only one that was not on sale. They put half of them to the side and said the were not apart of the sale. To say the least they just missed out on a pretty good sell since we put everything back a bought nothing. As long as this women is manager the store will not be ran with good customer service. Oh and also we had to wait in line while the employees were on their phones and the manager was chit chatting with them. FYI I gave one star so I could post.

The staff are friendly and helpful. They are a bit understaffed based on checkout. I wish michaels in general would have greater selection. The store used to be a borders books.
