“Thorough identity check
Everyone who went with me had their ID checked. I can't eat it without it
Jack Daniel's Apple 500ml costs $14. Very cheap
However, beer is expensive. Six bottles of Asahi cost over $10.
There is a lot of variety and the store is clean.”
“Best STL bread so far. Great customer service. We got treated like a regular even though we were new. Bread guy Jonathan was very knowledgeable. The ciabatta is bomb and lovingly selected products/meats/sauces are arranged neatly.”
“Not only is the selection and ambiance delightful, but the owner is a treat too! He's so knowledgeable and kind. He's eager to help you find the right beer for you, and generous with tastings. When a guest from out of town visits, I'll often bring them to Hop Shop and purchase them a six pack of their choice to enjoy while in our home. It's a fun and engaging shopping experience.”
“Great selection and such helpful friendly staff. Easy street parking in front, as well as a small parking lot in back, make a quick stop so convenient. They always have a kind word for my dog plus a treat, so it is fun to stop by when we are out for a walk. Their wine suggestions are spot on.”
“Good selection with reasonable prices and deals. It's always very tidy, and you can tell they put a lot of thought into their store and inventory. First place I go to when I hear of something new I want to try.”
“Looking for a hard to find bottle and this was the only local place that had it. The guys there are super helpful and friendly and willing to help out! Awesome store with a large selection.”
“Very cool owners who can answer any question you have about cocktails & liquor. Their cocktail kits show how much the care about the craft & the customer.
Great price range.
Cocktail classes are a blast!
---EDIT:---
To answer their question... The cocktail creation is going fantastically & easy thanks to the classes.”
“Fantastic wine bar! Great neighborhood spot with wonderful selection of wines and local spirits + beers in the retail shop. Awesome vibe at the bar to enjoy a few drinks with friends. Tiffany (owner), Ken the Wine Dude, and all of the staff are friendly and helpful”
“Unfortunately I didn’t visit on a Saturday when they have wine tastings. However, they were so helpful with suggestions and explanations of the different wines. This was a second visit and will definitely go back again and again. I even took a friend that wasn’t wine savvy and they talked to her and helped her a lot.”

1135 S Big Bend Blvd, St. Louis“If you want quality, this place has what you need. Fresh fish wild caught, prime steak, iberico pork, great selection of wine/liquor/sauces/gourmet ingredients. However, you sir, are going to pay for that luxury with your first born child. This isn’t STARRS fault, but just the nature of luxury ingredient pricing. I would like to see STARRS try to lower prices. That would get them a 5 star review.”
“We were pleasantly amazed! My son wanted fun, unique cheeses for his 21st birthday. Vivian was wonderful! She was very humble about her cheese knowledge, but amazed us with all kinds of information about each cheese, taste-wise and practical! She was kind and upbeat and offered my party of 4 samples for each cheese in which my son was interested. We ended up buying about 8 different kinds, and my son mentioned making The Wine and Cheese Place a regular stop in the future. I was also impressed that Vivian was always positive no matter what size we needed the cheese cut! We were thoroughly impressed with The Wine and Cheese Place on New Ballas Rd!”
“Friendly staff, nice size, great selection. The new store is such an improvement. It's much more spacious, well lit, cleaner, with much more variety than the former location next door.”
“Use to go regularly to the Brentwood store but with a change of employees I became more and more disappointed. Switched to the Ballwin store and couldn't be happier. Whoever hired TJ should get a raise (and her too).”
“We love infused olive oil Vom Fass as them. The oils are in beautiful containers. They have infused vinaigrette also. They have small batch alcohol you can sample anything.”
“I live around the corner, and I feel lucky to have this shop as a neighbor. Afternoon glasses, after dinner bottles, and all variety of tasty treats are offered up by a really pleasant group of folks. I could go on, but just visit and spend a little time.”
“Great staff, great beer and whiskey selection, and a great bar that constantly gets new whiskey and beers. They also have a great Bourbon club and do lots of good events and nightly bar specials. Shoutout to Justin, Will and Peter.”
“A very cool little store. I'm a vegan that is visiting friends in the area. The store has a lot of options that are not readily available where I live. I would like to go back and look around when I have more time to browse.”
“The selection here is good and the prices are reasonable, but what makes the Wine Barrel our favorite wine shop are 1) The awesome Friday night tastings, 2) The very friendly staff and 3) The little bar in front, where you can have a glass of what you just tasted or one of the other excellent choices. We've been here for three of the tastings and honestly, they can't be held responsible for the salesmen hosting the events, but they've all been good. It seems like there are always some fund people there with us for the events and we've had a good time all three times. We'll definitely be back.”
“My husband and I shop at Randall's for our liquor. There is a large selection to choose from. We are usually able to find our favorite products in flavors that are either hard to find or flavors that our smoke shop our grocery store do not carry. The employees are very friendly and happy to assist with finding anything you are looking for. The checkout is always staffed, and you do not have to spend a long time waiting to checkout. The employees do a great job of getting their customers out the door quickly. We also like the VIP rewards program. We definitely recommend Randall's.”

1119B Gravois Rd, Fenton“The employees there are always very helpful and very engaging with the customers. The prices and selection are very good. The size of the store is great for a quick run in and get what you need and get out”
“Soon as I found out that it was a black owned liquor store near me I been going ever since. Great customer service and good laughs. I asked for specific candy that is not often found in this neighborhood and they came through and got some. Thank you for my Long Boys lol”
“Hit or miss on the friendliness of the staff. Good, competitive prices, worth the times you get the :( employees.Update: It seems the :( may of moved on to other ventures. I'll be returning to this place more often.”
“I’m a longtime customer, but it was my first visit to this location on the Hill. I went for the Cazadores tequila tasting and tacos from Rock Star. The tacos were yummy, and I ended up purchasing one of the tequilas as a result. The staff at this - as well as the other locations - are always friendly and helpful. Randall’s marketing events and classes are always a hit for me and I try to participate as my schedule allows. One thing about Randall’s: if they don’t have a product, they will try to get it. It’s rare though, that I can’t find what I’m looking for here. And their prices are usually a bit lower than anywhere else. It’s my go-to for liquor, beer and mixes.”
“The cashier are great people and the price are not that bad depending on what you buying I like this store I never seen them being disrespectful to the customer they seem very welcome and the store clean”
10AM - 11PM
1217 Hampton Ave, St. Louis“I've been going here for years and they have the largest selection of booze in St.Louis. Excellent options and service. As for pricing, it depends. Sometimes they have items cheaper than other stores by a few bucks, but sometimes they have items that's a dollar or so more than at another store. It just depends on the demand and availability, but, it's open all the time and not horribly overpriced like so many places.
The only issue is that it is very hard to turn into because of all the traffic on hampton and hard to get out of back on to hampton, so be careful!”

4561 Dr Martin Luther King Dr, St. Louis“Glad this Place is Re Opened my Condolences to the Family of The Lady w the Red Convertible that I used to see when I rode my Trikes n the area, that used to run this place all alone. Currently it's a team inside the store and they seem to have it running like clockwork. The prices ain't to bad either & the cooler works fine”
“It was a clean friendly store. The parking lot was very clean and very well lit the cashiers new exactly what was going on and what you needed they found very quickly they also have a large assortment of groceries sundries and drinks I definitely recommend the store to my friend.”
“The best little mom and pop, corner, store, owner, Patrick’s Dogtown liquor’s, and my favorite /best uncle in the world. He’s a good man he’s great to his clients in his favorite niece and his family. He deserves nothing but happiness and love and success. I love you Uncle Pat you’re doing great!! Can’t wait for clovers and Vines to jump on the screen!! I’m so excited for you and everyone that’s been apart of watching its developments, journey and now growth with of course success!!! “I didn't catch this woman's name, but I think I may have just experienced the best customer service I've ever had in my life.
So, I walk in with purpose, and I'm staring at the imported chocolate bars. Looking for a Lion bar, and not seeing one. (These are good but not popular, a perfectly understandable thing to be out of.)
Enter our protagonist. This woman with long silver hair appears, clocks that I'm A.) looking for a specific candy and B.) not seeing it. I didn't get the woman's name, but I'd probably cast Jane Lynch to play her in a movie. Maybe Jaime Lee Curtis. Main character energy, is what I'm trying to say.
She springs into action, asks what I'm looking for, runs a scan, and I can see her becoming an expert on Lion bars in real time. She tells me she'll look in a recent shipment.
I continue my shopping, staying close to the candy out of courtesy. I notice a Lychee candy I like and pick it up.
Our hero reappears, with news from the back. It's not in the shipment, she says, but she has an idea. She then says some... World Market jargon that I didn't quite follow, but the gist is that there are more places to check.
She disappears again, this time for longer. I continue my shopping, confident she can find me anywhere in the store. And sure enough, she re-emerges.
"It's not on any palette. I ran the numbers, did a (more World Market jargon), and the last order was in April. The good news is, we CAN still order it, and we WILL order it." She then gave me detailed instructions as to when I could reasonably expect to see some Lion bars. All this was said and done with a smile and the utmost courtesy.
I thank this person for their time, and as she turned to go a final time, I noticed that she did all of this - with a walking boot on.
This employee ran around World Market, checked in the back not once, but twice, for a candy bar, all with a walking boot on. I was floored.
I did what anyone would do, and immediately texted a friend the entire interaction. My friend's response, "you met a videogame protagonist." Yep. Sounds about right.
Lion bars are good, but honestly nothing makes my day like someone going above and beyond like that.
I can't imagine there are too many silver-haired employees running around World Market with a walking boot, so if you read this - I encourage you to print it out and bring it with you next raise discussion. Because wow, are you exceeding expectations.”
