I loved the building and the architecter and the old wood molding and trim. Staff were extremely friendly and helpful. We tried the in house dinner lounge, and it was quite awesome. The problem was that management wouldn't stop the group of people that were making it difficult to have a pleasant conversation with my wife and I. Several other guests complained, nothing was done. We had to take our meals to are room to eat, but by time we got back the food was cold and tasteless. We were in room 21 looked nothing like the pictures we seen on the web site. The bed was so hard I slept on the floor. The shower pressure didn't have any. I felt like I had to keep rinsing to get the soap off. The chair in the room was so uncomfortable after a few minutes our necks hurt. They are pet friendly and that is why we stayed here. Plus a co-worker told us it was very pleasant.Walkability: The area was pretty good and safe.

Very nice hotel along the Missouri River. View of downtown is nice. All the staff were extremely nice. Definitely a perfect place to stay for a quiet night.

Neat placeThe food wasn't great. (Maybe it was just what I had ordered.)There was a larger group of people, and the server was young and seemed a bit overwhelmed.

We biked the Katy Trail and arrived here after 60 miles. Thank gawd for the bar:) cause it was glorious. This is a beautiful hotel and cares for the Katy Trail crowd. Dedicated rooms to store your bikes and super awesome people. The restaurant is a excellent. But the coolest part was the basement bar and live music. This and the nice selection of bourbon was the perfect end to a great day!

Was really looking forward to eating at the Fred it was our first time, and the food was terrible. They didn't seem that busy when we arrived at 6pm, but it took over an hour to get our food which would have been fine if our food was not cold when we received it. Two people at our table even got soup before our dinner and the soup was cold as well. Our waitress never came back to check to see if we need any more drinks. The only time we seen our waitress was to take our order, fill our water up once, and to give us our check. My dinner was suppose to come with Garlic bread I did not get that, and again our waiter never checked with us to see how everything was or if we need anything. I had to go find someone and ask to get my garlic bread. Had heard such great things, but after having poor service and cold food would not recommended going.

Where do I begin? We tried to cancel after arriving but were denied a cancellation. I don't mind historic hotels. Hotel Bothwell in Sedalia was really nice! Frederick could take a lesson. We ended up staying at the Isle of Capri Casion/hotel right along the trail. We arrived early around 11:15 after cycling from Sedalia. The front desk lady said our reserved room was not ready as the previous guests just checked out. Later, After dealing with this lady I question everything she told me. Afer having lunch down the street we returned and checked in. They did not allow us to take our bikes to our room but instead required they be stored in their non locked right off the street storage room. This bike storage room didn't even have a bike pump! Isle of Capri upon checking in said, without asking, " You are welcome to take your bikes to your room". Our Fredrick 2nd floor room was so dark! The front desk lady handed me a real room key (just One) on a block of wood! Really? If keeping your hotel historic is priority then you're succeeding. The lady even asked us to return the key to the front desk if we were going to leave the hotel and pick it back up upon our return. WHAT? Well after seeing the room and bike storage room and not being greeted with a friendly voice we decided to go elsewhere. I went to the front desk and no one was there but there were several room keys just hanging in plain sight for anyone to grab! I had to call the hotel twice before lazy desk lady comes out of the back office right behind the desk. We did not feel welcomed as cyclists. Hotel Frederick is marketed as biker friendly but that is not true. How about providing a bike wash area so cyclists won't "dirty up the room"? Visit Historic Herman and see how Herman Crown Suites treats cyclists! I'm okay with you taking my money please buy a bike pump with it and invest in more than one real key for the rooms and maybe a bike room key only for cyclists???

The wife and I went to a football game in Columbia and were wanting a night away from the kiddos. I found this hotel on google and thought it was just our style/speed.We absolutely loved our stay. I love the blend of historic/old aesthetic and newer amenities (bathroom renovations, etc.). We stayed in room #12. Room #12 would be a great room if we bring the kiddos back some day (as it has an the extra bed).Loved the lounge/bar on main floor, the restaurant, and the bar in the basement. We made us of all three during our stay. The night of our stay karaoke night was being hosted the the basement bar. It was a fun way to end the evening.Really loved our stay. I imagine we will be returning someday. My camera does not do the hotel justice (phone camera lens is cracked). If you are used to $500/night stays at a Ritzy hotel, this might not be the place for you. However, if you like things that are more unique and have character I recommend giving this hotel a try. Really loved the small town experience.Rooms: We stayed in room #12. It was perfect for us. Very spacious, high ceilings, nicely renovated bathrooms, comfortable beds. Truly great value for the price.Nearby activities: There is a diner across the street that had a good breakfast. If you like gambling there is a casino just down the street.Walkability: We didn't venture out too much. Would loved to have explored more but we didn't have enough time.Food & drinks: The drinks were great. We enjoyed all the meals we had. Very impressed considering the size of the hotel.

Unique historic hotel with lots of character and ambiance. Nice lounge with live music on Friday night. Friendly staff, great shower(!), fantastic continental breakfast. All within walking distance of the Missouri River and downtown Boonville.
